I just purchased at JC Center the Core Reformer. A four-way band (arms & legs) with dvd.
It looks to be a core/pilates routine. By Mare Winsor (Winsor pilates fame).

Any other JCers using it? What is your opinion?
I am committed to start using it tonight! I need a fresh, new routine to get myself moving again with toning arms, legs and def the tummy area!!

biggrin.gif Hello! I was looking to add a little change to my exercise routine (I have been on JC since 08/07 with 70 pounds lost), so I thought I would give it a try. I know the exercise is working because every time I am finished, I feel those muscles for the next 24 hours. It is not the bad kind of hurt where you groan every time you move, but you can feel those lower abdominal muscles that are in desperate need of toning! I like that the DVD is low impact and soothing, but the people who do the demonstrations have obviously been using Pilates for a long time (6 pack abs and zero fat). There is one female on the video who is new to the routine and the video focuses on her routine to help those of us who are not at the high Pilates level yet. So, hope you enjoy it! Dorothy

Wow- so, I guess Two of us have bought it!
Thanks Dorothymom for replying- I Do like it- it is perfect for small space (no exercise/gym room in my house)- and yes, having at least one person shown who is a "regular gal"- vs. "Professional Ms. Fit" is encouraging.
Amazing how small moves, done right are working and finding muscles I had lost!

I had the Firm videos and step- it was too high-impact on my knees and I am a clumsy kid with what was "step aerobics". I lost ambition to try to keep up with them on the video.

This Pilates a la band resistance is nice and easy on my joints!
Looking forward to reporting "results not typical!!!" I'm giving myself 8 weeks of "regular use" before I measure inches again.

I haven't tried that but yesterday I did 100 sit-ups and I can totally feel my abdominals hurting this morning! I'll take a look for that core reformer exercise when I go in today. Good luck with it! smile.gif
