Sure this forum is open to everyone. I think it started out w/people who stepped. But it has evolved to pretty much just encouraging each other to exercise of any form.
I usually step & walk, but eventually I will involve other forms of exercise. Right now my goal has been 8500 steps/day.
Welcome and hopefully the others will join back when they have a chance!

Thanks. Today my pedometer says 22,147 steps. yesterday it was 19,000 something. Yes I do reset it each day before I put it on. It's my job, 1 work 10 to 12 hour shifts all day on my feet. I only sit down to eat something and it's on my feet again.

I myself couldn't believe that I walk that much. Now I know why my ankles hurt so much at the end of the day but it's inevitable b/c of work. I like my job but the shifts are really long. (I'm an assistant manager)

Thanks! I wish more people would join this thread. I set a record 2 monday's ago! 31,783 !!!! I haven't been able to do it again though. I've been hovering around 19,000 and on the days I'm off from work about 8,000 steps. I get lazy and spent most of the time sleeping. LOL

To both aggietip and dreamcreatingangel,
I want to make it a 3 some. I have several pedometers and will have to get one out. I joined JC January 5, 2009 and have lost 34 lbs. I have 116 more to go. I am up to the challenge to catch up with you ladies.
A little over 3 years ago I was training with Team In Training to do a half marathon (walking). I'd been training for several months and was up to 8 miles, over half way and had nearly raised all the money I needed. I had walked 8 miles on Saturday and then was in a car wreck on Tuesday. That put an end to my marathon. But I'm glad the money I raised went to a good cause. Anyway, I've not done any serious walking since and have put on the lbs.
Since joining JC and lost several lbs., it's gotten easier for me to walk again and so I've started. A few weeks ago I did walk 7,000 steps but that was counting by hand. I haven't done that many since. I want to get to 10,000. With this challenge, I can do it!!
To dreamcreatingangel,
You said you were on your feet 10-12 hours/day. Have you tried the ZCoil shoes? They are wonderful. I have 5 pair and that is all I wear. Go to www.zcoil.com and look for a location close to where you live. Do you live in Texas, or better yet, Dallas or Fort Worth? If so, I can tell you where I go and the lady is WONDERFUL!! Plus, if you buy a pair, I get $15 off my next pair. To me, these shoes are the next best thing to custom made. The coils can be rotated 360 degress or even swapped with the other shoe. There are many, many different type inserts, and the feature I like best is the arch support can be heated and raised or lowered depending on your needs. I am extremely flat footed and cannot tolerate anything pushing on my arch. I used to pay $150 for good tennis shoes and an hour later come out of them because of the arch. My achiellies tendon also used to bother me. I have no problems now. Zcoils cost around $200 and I wear them ALL DAY LONG. Check them out and let me know what you think.
Good luck to both of you and thanks for letting me join in on the challenge!
Mucho friendship, Healthystar
