DD first weigh in was this past Saturday and she lost 9.4 pounds! We did a happy dance together in the kitchen, praised God for this program being such a wonderful fit, and anxiously waited for her consultant to call.

Her consultant called at the appointed time and gave my DD tons of encouragement. They celebrated her success, discussed dining out and eating styles. She answered all the questions my DD needed answering. Then, I got on the phone to change our order. DD hated all the shelf meals and I wanted to make sure that we didn't get anymore of those. No problem, order changed with not hassle. I also purchased DD a Dining Out Guide and one of those Creative Recipes cookbooks. No pushiness, just great help.

The food arrived yesterday and completely fills the freezer. It makes DD so happy. She is eagerly anticipating her weigh in this Saturday.

I wonder now if being enthusiastic isn't a big help in any program you undertake. I know that DD joined LA Weight Loss a couple of years ago and it was horrible. We felt like we were being "sold" every time we went in. Now I look back and wonder if that was really the case or if it was such a horrible fit for her that we just resented the people and the program.

No matter. We have found Jenny and it is working!

Tell her that is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! So glad she also found a good consultant that celebrates with her.
HAHA I did a happy dance this week at my JC meeting too. It just makes you feel sooooo much better.
Do make sure she understands that she won't see that kind of lose every week. I'm sure she realized that but always good to make sure. But man...thats an AWESOME leap in the right direction.
The Dining out Guide and the Creative Recipes cookbooks are great! I use the creative recipes cookbook A LOT when I start getting bored with the way I'm preparing the food.
I tired LA weight loss about 2 yrs ago but I just don't think I was in the right mindset. I also did it from online which obviously just wasn't a good method for me. Going in to the JC center each week seems to be working wnoders for me. But everyone is different.
So glad she has found jenny!!!!!
Let us know how the WI goes this week!!! I love sharing in the journey. Thanks for sharing w/ us.

Well, she knows that weight loss won't sustain itself at that rate but also hopes to get another good number this week before settling into the 1-2 pounds per week range.

There isn't a center within a 5 hour drive of us, so I am so pleased that the Jenny Direct program is available and is working for her. I personally love cooking and WW has always been my weight loss program of choice. I am able to cook interesting meals and keep myself in my goal range by counting points. I thought that would be perfect for her, too, but it just wasn't. The extra 35 points which are so helpful to me are a downfall for her, an entree into binge eating.

What we are loving about Jenny Craig is the focus on balance, proper food portions, and the added treat built into each day. We laughed with the consultant last Saturday about DD becoming very "regular" due to the additional fiber in her diet from fruits and veggies. My DD thinks her skin is even glowing (she has always had a beautiful complexion but it does seem to be a little more radiant tongue.gif

She has posted on the new members board also...

I'm confused, maybe it's because I need to go to bed. Are you on Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers???? I know from the post that your daughter is on Jenny Craig.

I'm sorry for the confusion! I am a dyed in the wool WW member - lifetime!! I thought it would be the perfect program for my DD, too.

That is what is so interesting about the whole weight loss process. One size does not fit all. To be successful on WW, you have to pre-plan and cook!! Since DD is only 18, this is not an approach that works for her.

Jenny Craig, on the other hand, is a great fit. She can nuke her food and fit it into her lifestyle.

I am so glad that I didn't let the negative comments that I read on this board keep me from purchasing this program. I truly believe that you get out of anything what you put into it. DD is losing great!! She is down another 1.5 pounds which makes 11 pounds in 2 weeks!!
