I live in Columbus and am relatively new to JC. I'm in my mid-twenties and have struggled with my weight for years. I have been very happy with JC and my results so far. I would love to have an Ohio buddy!

I just started the program today (for my second time around...) and would love to meet some others in Columbus.

Alcohol has definitely been a challenge for me. I've been working the program since August of 2008 and took a break during the holiday season so all of December and January (somehow the holidays spill into Jan for me lol) and have lost a total of 20 lbs and have another 10 to go. I know that if I could just cut out alcohol I'd drop the last 10 in no time at all. But I also know that once I'd start drinking again I'd gain it all back. So, I've been very realistic about this whole thing and definitely allow myself to continue to live my social lifestyle as I normally would, but in moderation.
When I am at home and feel like having a drink I go for the Crystal Light & Vodka, Coke Zero & Captain Morgan or Diet Tonic water & Gin. When I am out and want to keep sugar and calories to a minimum I'll order a Dirty Martini or Vodka and Soda Water. But to be perfectly honest when I am out at a bar I thoroughly enjoy ordering specialty drinks - which generally means a lot of calories. If this is the case I try to keep my drinks maximum to 3 and make sure to drink water in between each drink. Also, if I know I am going to be drinking I definitely try to get a good cardio session in the morning before and the day after - I usually go for at least 40 minutes each time. This usually keeps the weight off and has helped me maintain losing at least 1 lb per week.
Good luck!
