I just have to post for support here! I want to lose weight - not give into cupcake and ice cream cravings and I won't but what do I do?

thanks

Sometimes I use the Touchstones for Success. I forget which track, but there's one where she talks about "I deserve to..." It was really good. I think it was losing weight from the inside out or something. I highly recommend that. Sometimes I think the *thought* of the food is more appealing than the having of it. I also think about how I will feel afterwards. I think it's also about integrity - keeping your word to yourself.

Amy, you don't have to worry too much. The cakes and cheesecakes are so good you will not feel deprived at all. My husband loves the lemon cake and adds blueberries and a dab of fat free coolwhip topping. My favorite is the chocolate cake. It tastes so rich I feel like I'm cheating. You'll do just fine!

I have had a few things that maybe I shouldn't. At Thanksgiving I had a very small portion of broccoli/rice casserole and a very small amount of "pink stuff". Both were very small portions, which made me feel in control. I just had enough to get the taste. I think sometimes it's OK to have something as long as you do it in moderation and don't make it a habit.

There are a couple of sayings that come to mind when I feel like falling off the wagon: "What you eat in private, you wear in public" and "You only fail when you stop trying". The second one I actually have taped to my computer monitor at work.

I feel like with this program it seems easy to get back on track if you do stumble. I am approaching this time in a much different way. I am taking it a day at a time. I don't worry about what happened yesterday - I do the best I can each day - and, I plan for tomorrow. This has really helped keep me focused.

And, most of all..... remember YOU are WORTH IT!!! And, you CAN DO IT!!!

Good luck and hang in there!!
