I haven't been able to order the Mesquite Chicken for over two weeks now. The employees at the center say it is a "broccoli issue". My counsler told me this morning that she thinks that this item will be discontinued. Please say it isn't so. I love the Mesquite Chicken. I will be so sad if this is true!

My JCC also said that they were having some trouble with it, but didn't specify exactly what the problem was and seemed to be expecting that they will be coming back. Usually if they are retiring foods they will tell in advance so people who like them can stock up.
BTW, the garden vegetable soup IS being discontinued.
Take care,

I just started this week, and my centre (in Canada) was out of Mesquite Chicken, so they substituted something else in my starting menu. The JC selling person (not a consultant, she just does the initial selling I think) didn't say anything about it being discontinued, just that they were out.
As far as the vegetable soup goes, I can understand why that's being discontinued, as my perusal of the boards indicates that people make their own 'free' veggie soup, so likely they aren't selling a lot of it.

Please KEEP and make permanent the Mesquite Chicken. I absolutely love it.

My consultant told me last week it was discontinued. I hope she was wrong. My husband and I both liked it.

I was also told that it is a broccoli issue. I don't see how it could be. I really like this dish, please don't take it away.

I went in again this week and saw a different consultant. She said she did not think the chicken would be discontinued as it is so popular. Maybe will come back with a different veggie. Apparently, the broccoli was not safe. Much like the spinach or bagged lettuce ecoli problems last year.

I haven't heard anything about the broccoli being "unsafe". I think if that were the case, they'd have clients bringing what they had back to the centre, like they did with the quesadillas when the packaging was unsafe. As far as I've understood, it's simply that there is a shortage of the specific broccoli used, so it's temporarily unavailable. No plans to discontinue.

Hi Korrinne,
My consultant was the one who thought there was a problem with the broccoli being unsafe. I guess she just assumed that was the case. It must be that they have a contract with the supplier who had the shortage problem. Haven't seen any broccoli shortages anywhere else. I was wondering why we didn't hear anything about a recall. Good to know we don't have to worry! Thanks for posting!

My center has them back and when I went to cook it, the tray was all messed up. It was cracked and off and the plastic had come off. The outside package was intact. I made sure to tell my coworkers if I keeled over from poison it was at the plant not my center. I have no idea if packaging was why they stopped them for a while, but honestly it was pretty bad. I almost took a picture.
Happy to say nobody is pulling a tylenol scam!
