The long anticipated Wii Challenge is finally here.

So I am going to make this as short and to the point as possible.
AnyOne Can Join and I mean Anyone what ever fitness Level that you are at It does not matter.

The Challenge will start off fairly simple and over the week begin to gradually turn in to physical challenges.
I envision that this challenge will grow to so much more than just an activity accountabiltiy blog but more of an inspiration and competitive motivation site where we give motivation to kick our activity up a notch.

Like I said the challenge will start fairly simple Get 30 min a day (30 min straight for the real challenge) so by the end of the week you Fit bank should have a total of 3 hours and 30 min. and by the end of the month you should get at leat 15 hours in. for those of you who are just starting your Activity please take it easy and do not push yourselves. break your 30 mins down by 10 mins increments.

Please Reply with your preferred routine so other can try them out..
please offer your motivation tips.
Please check in a frequent as you can.

Remember this challenge is not limited to Wii Fit, Wii sports, DDR, if you have another game that works for you please suggest it... as we will soon be looking forward to the real challenge. And do not forget to suggestion your own challenges to all of Us. ex. Run for 20 mins or boxing for 10 mins. All challenges are Welcome.

My favorite routine on Wii Fit is: 10mn of Hoola Hoops, 10mn of Boxing, 5 strenght training exercises, and 5 yoga exercises... and if I still have to burn more calories (I have the Bodybugg to tell me), I do 30mn of steps in front of the tv.

Now, I am mostly on Active Life Outdoor Challenge, so I start my morning with 30mn of steps on Wii Fit, and then on ALOC, I do 2 work outs (like upper body and jumping), plus 2 exercises on free play, 5 times each (to load the best scores tongue.gif

One of my tips is that when I do 30 mn of steps, I do 5mn with my right foot first, then 5mn with my left foot first; then I do the same but stepping back onto the balance board to use different muscles; and after that, I start to get tired so I both front and back at the same time, 5mn with each foot (I start facing the wii board, step on it with my right then left foot, then step on the other side of the board right then left, and go back right then left...). I hope this was clear but I doubt it dry.gif

If I may, I think with the example of the challenge 10lbs in 10 weeks, you could do 15 hours in 30 days... with a new thread every 10 days, what do you think? (or 14 hours in 4 weeks, with a new thread every week) And thank you SO MUCH for this challenge!

Yay, I am so glad I found this thread. I have a WiiFit on the way, it should be here tomorrow or the next day and I was hoping there were enough people on the boards with one to start a challenge.

So, I haven't started yet, but I'd love to join the challenge. And will help in any way I can. I do have a suggestion though, so we don't loose steam.

What do you think about each of us posting our goal and check in weekly. I'd volunteer to keep a spreadsheet going so we can watch ourselves get closer to reaching our goals.

So, for instance maybe something like...

Challenge: 6 Week WiiFit Challenge
Dates: Monday 11/10 - Monday 12/22
Personal Goal: # Hours in 6 Weeks
Check-In: Monday (or a time that works for you)


So, like I might commit to doing 21 hours during the challenge. So about 3.5 hours a week. And each week we could check in with how many hours we've completed. And, maybe how much weight we've lost or NWS (in this case, Non-Wii-Successes), such as "Yay, I was so good about water intake everyday this week!" Does that make sense and/or sound good?

We could do weekly check-ins like...
Hours this Week: 3
Hours total: 7
NWS: I stayed 100% on food 6/7 days this week and lost 2 pounds!

If we give the challenge a few days before it starts people can slowly trickle (or quickly smile.gif ) in and post their goals and more of us can start at the same time. Of course, anyone could join at any time. And of course during the week we can motivate each other and post tips and work out ideas with each other.

If this sounds good I'd be glad to post a fresh thread with all the challenge details in the first post and keep a spreadsheet going with the weekly check-ins. I'm not trying to take over the challenge, just offering my assistance and ideas.

Feedback would be fantastic.

I am up for the challenge...I pledge 4 hours in my bank by the day the challenge expires.This is only my 5th day doing the Wii fitness- I do 15 minutes Hula Hoop and 30 minutes stepping..so far....Plus, I have been playing tennis in the Wii games 1 hour the first 4 days and 1 hour 15 minutes tonight. Man, that is a work-up, I feel my heart rasce and i work up a sweat(I use my arms and move my legs, I pretend i am actually playing real live tennis) ...With the Wii stepping- I am pretty decent, I feel the back of my legs tightening...I love it, i am having fun...

If we're doing the 6 Week Challenge I suggested would the four hours be for the entire challenge or weekly...which would be 24 total hours.

For the challenge I am going to pledge 3 hours for the first week. and work myself up to 6 per week and 3 hours of nightly walking.

Thanks, this is a great idea. As for now I am commiting to the minimum of 3.5 hours and as for now I am commiting that Saturday will be my check in day. only b/c i work with computers all day and somrtimes i really don't feel like looking at them by the end of the day(LOL).

Honestly I will ty to come back more often then that. I want to thank you all for your input.

french-girl-nyc-- this is a great idea, And we should definitely stagger out the challenge to allow other to join in from the start so with any Ideas on this will be great. I am going to the original post and point everyone in the directions of this posting.

I am motivated and have definitely increased my activity level and exercise since getting the Wii. I am getting married for the 1st time on May 30, 2009. I am marrying my high school sweetheart We reunited again after 35 years in July 2007 and we have been together since....I am so in love....Rick treats me like a princess, and accepts me for me..he motivates me and challenges me with everything i want to do or become...and he never told me to loose weight...he is an awesome support, agood shoulder to cry on...and he likes kicking my a** on the Wii games..especially tennis. But we are even in boxing...I love htat boxing! it makes my heart race,and my adrenaline flow...not to mention i sweat like a pig in heat ( serious..I haven't sweated this much in years.I take 2 showers a day....)
I am on a mission to look pretty for once in my life, and want to have pictures taken on our wedding day.I have committed to a permanent lifestyle change since being on JCD, and know I am working on exercising... We got our wii today and as soon as I can get it away from the kids- I will pledge 30mins per day -3hrs per week starting 11/9

Hello all,

So far so good I made 18 hrs total,

I broke my routine down
30 minute Jogs –Whew and legs hurt—actually ran in circle around my room.
30 minute stepping—Not too bad But I definitely had to find a way to jazz it up so I added arm weights and extra movement (Twist and such)

30 min boxing – Now this is a workout in it self sure fire way to make you hurt the next day but I love it.

Hula hoops – I and definitely being easy with this as I think that I pushed way to had a felt it for two weeks… LOL

Active Life out door Challenge-

Full body exercise, *3
5 minute Hard exercise, *3(barely)<-- they are not lying about this. LOL

Kayak attack not my favorite don’t feel it as much as I want to. I am always being charged with swinging too Hard. dry.gif

Waterfall Climber Now I must admit playing with a partner the waterfall climber is awesome any part that you decide to do you either feel it in your legs or you stomach… Great.. Great…Great

Timber Trail—Love it that’s all I can say.

So I usually mix and match Normally I will do a 30 min stepping and mix with full body w/o and 5 min Hard exercise. Then I will cool down with simple stretches and a couple sit-up or training bands.
