Looking forward to this one, for sure. I don't think they're coming in until November. Hopefully they'll be available at next week's WI.

I tried them last year and I really liked them. They weren't TOO gingery which I liked.

My center says they are going to receive them tomorrow, but they are a "tub" of cookies and a serving is only 4 so you have to have will power. They are also going to be receiving the turkey cranberry salad kit which I have heard is good starting next week! Yay!

Wow. That's hard to believe that they would package them like this - the whole beauty of JC food is that it's portion controlled. I was thinking it would be a little soupetizer-sized tub filled with little ginger cookies the size of teddy grahams or something. Heck, there's a whole bunch of choc. graham twists in a single-serve bag... why not ginger cookies???

I found out they were in a tub AFTER I ordered them.

Got my tub of gingerbread men last night at WI. It was either $4.49 or $4.99, and I believe there are 5 servings per tub - each serving is 4 reasonably sized cookies. My center had a tub out on the counter, so we could sample before purchasing. They're pretty yummy. Still not sure why they can't package these in individual serving size, so we're not tempted to eat a few more than we should... is it a test?

Also, and this applies to all of the snacks.... sure would be nice if they had ANY nutritonal value whatsover. I talked to my JCC about this last night, and I understand that the snacks/desserts are supposed to be nothing more than indulgences - treats to satisfy cravings. And, maybe I'm the only one that a) feels a little guilty about eating nutritionally void food, and cool.gif would be happier if the snacks not only tasted good, but offered a nutritional punch, as well?

I think the method to the madness of having them in tubs is due to all the holiday gatherings and events this time of year. JC used to sell whole cheesecakes, too, that you could have at family gatherings and whatnot so you had a good choice to make.

You are correct. It is a holiday item. I think it is a great idea and I bought a tub to take with me on Thanksgiving for the desert table. This way I will be able to indulge in desert by having 4 cookies; works for me.

In the "Dietician" section of the forum a question was asked about the Fiber One snack bars and the dietician said they could be substituted for a JC snack.

I love those bars and they certainly are a better choice, nutritionally, than the JC snacks.

But I do like the fact that we can have those little JC "indulgences" and not feel particularly guilty about them. I am NOT giving up my Triple Chocolate Cheesecake....ever. biggrin.gif

I got the Gingersnap Tub the other day. Tasty little fellows. Someone else mentioned packaging them into four-cookie servings and freezing the servings individually. I think I'm going to have to do that---eight servings to a tub and I could easily see myself sneaking more than I'm allowed. unsure.gif

I guess that's the part I just don't get. Four okay tasting but far from homemade quality JC cookies, completely void of any nutritional value whatsoever or instead, a thin slice of Aunt Rose's apple pie - totally more satisfying, not excluding yourself from whatever everyone else is enjoying, still practicing portion control, not feeling deprived... why opt for one empty-calorie snack over another, when it's a special occasion like Thanksgiving?

I guess it's just all about personal preference. I know some people like to stick REALLY closely to JC when they can, and maybe don't feel like they can practice portion control with Aunt Rose's apple pie. Personally, when I was first starting Jenny, it was a while before I felt comfortable doing any MOMO's or anything. At the very least, it gives clients choices; either practice portion control with a dessert you can't resist or take your Gingerbread Men to share and have 4. Also, some people really like those things! Like, crazy like them! Every year they sell out SO quick, some people might actually PREFER them over other Thanksgiving treats. smile.gif

Yummy yummy yummy! I love these little guys! I dunk them in apple cider and it's the best treat I've had on the program so far!
However, I did have to repackage them myself into individual plastic baggies in groups of four, so that I don't over eat. That has helped a lot in the past few days!
Now if I could just manage to control myself when it comes to leftover Halloween candy... smile.gif

I LOVE THE GINERBREAD COOKIES!!! YUMMO! I did have to put them in snack bags to keep myself from overeating! I bought 4 tubs of them so I don't miss out like I did on the cinnamon twists.

rolleyes.gif Hi, I heard they where delicious, and very addictive....EllenWheels said she was glad her center sold out of those boogers...How many are in a tub, more than a serving? Please, let me know..Thank-you! Christine
Mirandab2008
1 serving is 4 cookies. And I think there are about 5 or 6 servings per Tub? I went thru mine and put 4 cookies into little Snack-size Ziplock bags. And I am sure I have at least 5 or 6 crammed back into the Tub and stored in the freezer.

Got them the other night, yummy! But they are in a big tub, got to take them out and divide them up. Very tempting to eat them all!
