Full Version: Reasons why scale number isn't changing?

I'm halfway through my second week and so far have seen no changes in my scale weight! It's so frustrating. Last week was TOM, but I'm usually not bloated the week afterwards. I've been eating according to the planned Jenny menu, eating all of my fruits and veggies, drinking water. I have not changed or added any exercise yet.

On the positive side, several pairs of pants that were tight two weeks ago, I can now put on with no problem. I haven't re-measured myself (temporarily misplaced my tape measure while unpacking - we just moved), but if I go by my clothes, something is definitely happening.

How to explain this? And when will I see my numbers go down on the scale! Argh!

Everyone loses at different rates. I've heard plenty of stories of people not losing anything the first couple of weeks and then BAM! Much depends on what you were doing just prior to JC. The new diet could be a drastic change, or hardly any change at all. Also, much of what is lost in the first couple of weeks is water weight. You may not have had much of that to lose. Hang tough... it'll catch up eventually.

And woo hoo on the loose-fitting pants!!! Celebrate all of the hundreds of things you've done right in the past two weeks. You're on a journey, not just playing a game with the scale. It's only one small measurement of your success. Keep doing all of the right things and it'll have no choice but to catch up to you.

Moke, when I started eight years ago, I lost less than two pounds in the first two week. The third week, I showed a big loss on the scale for no apparent reason. I went on to lose over fifty pounds that year, and I have kept it off for seven years. Keep doing everything you are supposed to do, and the scale can't help but follow.

LesterLou & EllenWheels,

Thank you so much! I feel much better knowing that I'm not the only one this has happened to.

I've finally seen my weight go down - one pound. *sigh* I'm terribly jealous of others who have lost more in the first two weeks, but I'll keep being consistent and hopefully it will add up over time.
