Just had it last night. It was really good, but I wish the frosting were more evenly distributed, like on the lemon cake. I guess if I put it on a plate and ate it with a fork I could manage this. I eat mine like a cupcake. Am I a minority on this??
Anyway, thrilled to have a new cake. I hope they keep this one longer than they did for the Red/White/Blue cheesecakes earlier this year.
Any other reviews on the Spice Cake out there??

It is DELISH, but I personally feel that the carrot cake JC use to have was better. I wonder why they retired that one?

Had this for the first time last night and it was SO good!!! I warmed it in the mircowave for 30 secs so that the cake was warm and the icing was spreadable and it was amazing!!! Let's hope they keep this one around.

I added a little more fat free cream cheese to the cream cheese that was already on it and it was outrageous!

My plan (it's on my menu for tomorrow) is to nuke some sliced apples then put them on top of the cake.
The pumpkin Spice cake is a Temporary/Seasonal item. It will not be around from now on.
Yes- the Red, White & Blue cheesecake was THE BEST, but it was only for July/Temp/seasonal. So sad when my Center ran out....
I always zap the JC cakes for about 15 sec.- it makes the frosting spreadable, and the cakes nice and warm. YUM!

Hi Westcoast,
I have to put everything on a plate or to me, it feels too much like fast food and I'm not really feeling like I ate a meal. Somehow it just seems more special when it's on a nice plate. I found if I take the cake out and let it thaw while I'm preapring and having dinner, by the time I'm ready to eat it, the frosting is somewhat spreadable so I get a nice taste in every forkful. I think it's delicious and we can definitely use another fabulous staple desert that isn't chocolate. So far, the lemon cake is my all time favorite cake.
I'm definitely going to try the 10-15 seconds in the microwave with the Pumpkin Spice - sounds like a terrific idea. My JCC told me my favorite (peanut caramel bar) is even more fantastic if you hit it for just 5-7 secs in the microwave just before you eat it. Can't wait to try that one!

Looks like I am the only one disppointed with the pumpkin cake. Pumpkin flavored baked goods are typically something I love but this had so much clove or allspice or some spice I can't name in it, I barely choked it down. Just my two cents.

I wasn't that crazy about the Pumpkin Spice cake either and I really do love pumpkin everything, but this one missed the mark for me.
Your two cents worth and I'll add my three cents worth so that gives everybody a nickel's worth of info

I hadn't been in my centre for 2 weeks and when I went in they were advertising the pumpkin spice cake.
Being the pumpkin lover that I am I moved some things around on my menu and fit in 3 of them.
I thawed one in the fridge last nigh. & boy am I glad I got three!!!
The pumpkin spice cake is a beautiful thing...
Too bad it's limited....

I'd eat it EVERY day if I could...
Yum!

In response to why they retired the carrot cake, my Center Director said that due to the nutrition facts, they were having a hard time making it fit into a 1200 calorie day. It was a bit higher (not sure in what? calories? fat?) than the typical JC dessert.

I really liked the pumpkin spice cake. Unfortunately my center was already out of stock when I was there this week (they're getting more!). So, I got another lemon cake - I love these. And, I eat these right out of the freezer. They seem refreshing to me that way. They don't freeze hard.

I LOVE LOVE the pumpkin spice cake. I topped it with a little cinnamon and nutmeg, nuked it for 20 secs and topped it with FF cool whip and a squeeze of FF/SF carmel syrup! : )

I LOVE the pumpkin cake and wish it was a yearly thing...I am someone who really enjoys the fall and all of the pumpkin flavored things that come with it, so this was a real treat!

I loved it too. I ordered 2 this week, so I had an extra one on hand. I can't wait for the gingerbread tub to come out.

I tried a variation of what I do with the lemon cake.
I set it out on the counter to get to room temp while I'm pitting dinner together. When I was ready to eat it, I took a handful of frozen blackberries and place them in a shallow dish and 'nuke them until they are soft and start to juice. I set the cake in the middle of the berry sauce and enjoyed it. I think blackberries go better with the spice than the strawberries and blueberries I also keep in the freezer.

I just tried the Pumpkin spice cake tonight and I agree with PattiLynn, there is some spice in it i don't care for ( think it might be nutmeg?) and I couldn't even choke it down AND I also usually love pumpkin desserts, too. Oh, well, there are a lot of other JC desserts I like, like toffee bites and cookies and cream cheesecake, to name a couple!

OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cake!!! It might sound crazy but it tasted more like carrot cake to me. Either way I LOVE IT!!! I have a HUGE sweet tooth and this hit the spot! I took it out it in the fridge this am to thaw, microwaved it after dinner spread the frosting around and topped it off with a small amount of fat free sugar free cool whip and I AM IN WEIGHTLOSS HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just started JC 4 days ago and this cake gives me hope that I can get thru this and still get my cake too!

I agree. I wasn't crazy about it either. I can't taste the pumkin it it, and the spices are a bit overpowering.

"Gingerbread Tub"? That sounds good.
I like the Pumpkin cake. It could be a little moister and the blob of icing would be nicer on TOP of the cake (both times I've gotten the cake the icing was slopped over to the side and I had to scrape it off the plastic cover).
Anyone hear anything about the Cinnamon Twists coming back as a permanent item? I never had them but they showed up on my online ordering choices when I made out my order so I ordered them this week. I was told that they no longer were available but they would probably be coming back as a regular item because of popular demand.

Hi Ya'll
I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Cake for my new order. I do not like spice cake. Is this cake more pumpkiny tasting than it is tasting like a spice cake? I love the double chocolate cake, and the lemon cake ...I eat mine with a fork, and eat slowly with a cup of hot tea....Please,let me know what it tastes like..I am curious....Thanks, Christine

I bought 10 of them for me and the girls at work who liked it. They wouldn't sell me more than that.

Is it me or is the Pumpkin Spice Cake not listed on the menu anymore? I sure hope it's not gone already.
