I made a Food Exchange Calculator using Microsoft Works Spreadsheet if anyone wants it. All you need to do is enter your calories, carbs, protein, fats, and estimate your vegie servings and it does the rest. I have tested it with the JC foods using the exchanges in the Halfway Success Guide and it is accurate. It is exact, though. It seems like JC rounds up some exchanges and rounds down some exchanges. This calculator gives you the exact exchanges. The only thing I couldn't get it to do is estimate Milk exchanges. If I figure out how to do my milk exchanges, I will see if I can add it into the program.

I would love this!!! I just posted an excel spreadsheet I use to plan my menus. If you could send me your exchange calculator, it would be so much easier to figure out those extras not on the menu!!!!!

Hey all...if you check out the originator of the post she hasn't been logged onto the website since November of 2008. So I'm guessing she won't see these posts which means we won't see the calculator. Anyone brave enough to try to make their own? I tried but it isn't quite working yet.

I was able to get a copy of this calculator this week. I don't think it is as accurate as we all think. It seems to be off by at least 1/2 an exchange on a lot of things.

For example:
on the Turkey Burger Sandwich, the calculator says 2 starch, 1 meat, 1.5 fat. The Halfway Guide says it is 2 starch, and 1.5 meat, 0 fat.

On the Breakfast Scamble: the calculator says: 1 starch, 1.5 meat, and 1 fat. JC says 1.5 starch, 2 meat, and .5 fat.

I don't know how that works in the grand scheme of things, but I think a little off here and there will make a big difference.

When I have the time, and can figure out her multipliers, I'll see if I can fix it.

If you have Microsoft WORKS on your computer this may work....I have Microsoft WORD. Is the original poster still on the JC website?????
