I don't hear much about the salmon entre' on this forum. I tried it tonight. The salmon was just "ok", but the teriyaki sauce made it a huge thumbs down. How long has this dish been around?
Does anyone have positive things to say about this meal?? All the experience did for me make me want to go buy some salmon and grill it right. I may have to break from the program this weekend
Any salmon lovers out there??

WC,
Like you, I was a bit disappointed in the salmon. I'm not a huge Teriyaki (sp?) fan, anyway, but I figured, what the heck. Give it a try. Soooo....that said, I scraped off the T sauce and heat up my skillet, sprayed with one spray of non stick stuff (olive oil flavor), sprkinkled on some blackend seasoning and five mnutes later..voila! Definitely 'do-able'.
Hey, it's diet food, after all. It's not gonna be like our own home cooking. But, we can sometimes salvage a thing or two, and forrtunately, the salmon is one of them.

Its nothing to write home about, but I like it well enough. I love seafood in general, and I like that it comes with brown rice.

As was already posted-nothing to write home about-but I am very grateful for this option and I order it most weeks (definitely every 2nd week). I like the piece of salmon itself - decent portion and not over-produced - if that makes sense? Just a nice chunk of "fresh" salmon?
Other than this meal, all we have is the fish and chips or tuna kit for our seafood choices. Salmon is so good for us too.
Actually - I guess with my frequency of ordering - it is one of my favourites!

I didn't think it was TOO bad. The salmon itself was pretty tasty. I HATED the rice and weird sweet carrot medley stuff....

Hi--I really like the salmon dish, and I try to eat it at least once a week. One thing I tried from the "Creative Recipes Cookbook" was nuking the dish in the morning and putting it in the fridge during the day...then at night make a salad and add the whole meal to the top of the greens. Take the Asian salad dressing and add a little dried ginger to it and use that dressing...even with the T sauce the combinations are really good. Nice dish for when it's hot out or if you ever like to switch lunch and dinner and have it for lunch.
Enjoy!!!

I like it "as-is" too. It's not as good as fresh, grilled- but hey! it's as good as any Frozen fish I've had.
Love seafood, so frozen is not the best anyhow.
There's a nice recipe in the Jenny Craig Recipes section of this website (not the boards postings) for Grilled Salmon and Wasabi Slaw.
I've added to my MOMO collection of recipes- quick, simple and sounds very tasty! I love the Asian aspects of it.

I like Salmon, but not with the sauce. I only ordered it once.

I'm a salmon lover but not a lover of the salmon entree. I just think Jenny's version is too dry. I've tried everything I can think of to make sure it doesn't come out dry but nothing works, probably because it's dry to begin with. I am not a fan of mealy tasting cardboard salmon.

I make my own salmon and what a difference!
I agree that the sauce is yukky too and I generally love teriyaki glazes!

I was never a huge salmon fan and only ordered it once. My best friend is a big salmon fan and she didn't like this version.

I have always been a big fish eater and I will NEVER get that salmon entree again. The fish had been frozen, thawed, and refrozen so may times it was spongy and tasteless. I've never encountered a brick of salmon mush before.

YUCK!!!
I agree, I am now saving fish for the night I cook for myself.

I just had it last night, after reading all the comments posted here. I'd had it many times before, but now ate it, with all these comments in mind. Sorry, folks who don't like it.... I think it's great! No sponginess or mushiness, and the sauce is just fine...especially when some of it gets on the rice and carrots. I'm not a big fan of cooked carrots, so I kind of get through that pile of veggies, fast as I can. But, overall, I think it's a nice meal! I'd put it right up there with the mesquite chicken and meatloaf as one of my "special treat" JC meals.

I totally agree with those of you who said that the salmon was
1) TOO DRY
2) just barely OK
and I love salmon when I cook it. So either make it more tasty and moist or pitch it for the sirloin Rice bowl .
having tasty seafood entres would be great!
