Hi every one, I'm not sure if I should join, I have " really tried everything " most recently WW, I lost 10lbs. But then I had surgery on my foot and I got 9 back. I have read a lot of your stories, they are convincing, Oct.8 I'm going for my 2nd surgery on my other foot. But my goal is to loose 30lbs by Dec. 10th. with the surgery I'll be off my feet for about 4 wks. I use to have will power but recently I don't know were it went. I quit smoking cold turkey, I had the will power for that, and I can't gather enough to loose weight. Any ideas on how to get motivated? Honestly I don't like to do things by myself, I'm not a loner, I don't have a support system. I'm afraid that I will start but won't finish. Thank you for listening

Hi Elly
So sorry to hear about your foot ..... surgery is the worst!
I started my journey two years ago. Lost steady, then had an injury to my shoulder ... did you know that even when you walk you move your shoulders? well, my steady loss stalled, but i still made my appiontments and weigh in ... over the year of recovery time, I gained just a tad, about 5 pounds ... now i'm back on track ...
I am a rewards member ... so i go no matter what .... i'm paid up ... and on my one year anniv. i just pay the 39.00
for the whole year.
i would encourage you to sign up for the life time memebership, and get the support you need through your surgery!

good luck to you

everyone loses their weight at different rates of course? can you maybe not put a specific Time limit on the loss of 30 pounds?
Jenny Craig often has Offers such as " 20lbs for $20 " etc? or 6 weeks for $36? things like that?
you could try a short term offer just to see if you feel it suits your needs? If you love it? you will know that soon enough and hopefully will become motivated to keep going with it.

Hi, Elly. I, too am sorry to hear about your foot. I joined JC 8 weeks ago, and am half way to my goal (about 40 pounds total loss). My husband and I went to Reno this past weekend, and he kept telling me I look great. I feel so terrific, too, that I would say try one more thing - JC. It is so easy, and you don't have to think of anything. I had no will power, and didn't want to think about losing weight, counting anything, or measuring. I just wanted the weight to come off. Joining JC would be great , especially at this time, because you won't want to stand around the stove/oven cooking. Take your time losing the weight, and give yourself smaller goals, along with your ultimate goal. Mine was smaller underwear sizes. Since I am getting older, I didn't want to wear 'old lady underwear'. I bought new ones 2 weeks ago, and that was my celebration. It was great. I am not much into excercise, but I ride a stationary bike every day at work for 30 minutes during my lunch break, and do some toning with weights a few times a week at home.

Hi Elly,
Before I tried Jenny, I tried real hard with WW. I guess some programs just work better than others for different people. I needed that one on one and I wanted to lose so bad, because I was just plain tired of the way I looked, so my husband bought me a membership here. I don't use their food anymore, but I was able to lose 60lbs in 8 mos. It wasn't very hard either, I have fibromyalgia, so I was hesitant because I don't have much energy, (like for the exercising). You won't believe it Elly, this program teaches you so much about nutrition, if there's a month by month plan, or six month one, I'd go for that, so you can try it out for yourself. My only support was my husband . Your mirror will be your best support system, I'm not kidding you, & for 30lbs, it won't take long for you to be feeling so good in your clothes. Whatever you decide, good luck! wink.gif

The JC program is the easiest program I have ever been on. Weight Watchers is a good program but, having been on it numerous times, I can say it is just not the best program for me. I simply do not want to be bothered with weighing and measuring food, counting points, etc. I don't want to sit through group meetings or do silly paper-and-pencil exercises about feelings and goals. I know some people like that aspect of WW but I definitely do not. I want to see results on the SCALE!!
I really enjoy my Jenny food, too. I've found my favorites and am very happy with the selections. I'm even happier that I've lost 15.6 pounds in five weeks!
My only regret is that I didn't start Jenny Craig sooner!!
