I thought it would be fun to see how many folks actually LIKE these bars since the majority seem to find them disgusting...I think they are really good and are great at controlling hunger. I prefer the chocolate peanut butter to the cookies & cream, but i'm just not a huge fan of that "oreo-like" taste. But I like them, I really really do!

The peanut butter ones are OK, but I could barely choke down the cookies & cream. My 17 month old likes them a lot and always insists on a nibble or two.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I can't stand them but they do fill you up. If i must have them then i'd rather have cookies and cream Peanut butter its like playdough.

I agree with you that they do control hunger. However, they have (to me, anyway) a very odd "powdered milk" taste and leave what I would consider a "film" on the roof of my mouth. Therefore, I have them as seldom as possible. In fact, I gave the last 4 bars to my son last week. Those bars had been sitting in my cabinet for at least 3 months.

The power bars are a big waste of time. 150 calories for a 1 ounce piece of chocolate that you need a microscope to see. I either have a plate of vegetables (in the afternoon). It's totally filling. Or if I can squeeze it into my calorie allotment, I'll do an extra breakfast scramble as a snack. That is 200 calories.
Those are my tricks of the trade.

I opted not to get them. Instead my consultant said to eat yogurt or cottage cheese. Are there more options? I meet with her tomorrow after my 1st week being on the program. I can ask her then, but thought I would ask all of you what your thoughts were on this...thanks in advance.

if you look in ask the dietician- the anytime bars equal one milk serving plus your vitamin. ( so they say if you don't do the anytime bars you should be taking a multivitamin- jc sells their own- though i've read of people subbing cheaper ones and an extra milk.
( i don't like milk or yogurt so I eat fat free puddings for my milk)
i've also read of many people subbing the anytime bars with other nutrition bars- though none are going to be exactly the same. a lot of people seem to use pria bars, which i've never tried. i like luna bars myself.

I actually like the chocolate peanut butter AT bars. I like to eat them cold from the fridge, the consistency is much better this way. I didn't care for the cookie and cream bars.

I like my peanut butter bar. Of course it isn't as good as one of the snack bars, but it's ok. I refrigerate it and it's a nice little snack for me to eat on my way to work.

A word of caution to those who substitute anything but a multivitamin and a milk serving for AT bars, JC is an entire program. It is not a "make any substitution with equal calories of your choice." There is anotherweight loss program for that and take it from one who knows... WW doesn't work long term! AT bars are 1 multivitamin +1 milk. Milk servings are milk, soy milk or yogurt only. if you are lactose intolerant you may substitute tofu. Ask your JCC for the information for lactose intolerance. My consultant suggested that cottage cheese or 1 oz of fat free or low fat cheese could be substituted if you didn't like yogurt but that the calories would be lower so I should make sure I ate at least 2 of my limited frees on days I had cheese instead of yogurt. It gets too complicated so just stick to a yogurt and a multivitamin.
To answer the original question, I love the PB AT bars but can't choke down the last 3 cookie and cream ones in my cabinet.

I love the p'nut butter anytime bars. I keep mine in the fridge and eat it cold as a mid-morning snack. I would eat them even if I wasn't on a "diet". I do not like the cookies and cream AT bars though.

I like them OK. I got the peanut butter ones for the first few weeks, and then I really quickly got sick of those (they started to make me cringe at the thought of eating them) so I was going to just stop buying them all together, because I didn't like the thought of a cookies and cream flavor, and couldn't imagine it'd be any better. Last second decision - I figured I'd try the cookies and cream just for kicks, and it turns out I actually REALLY like those a lot better!! I can't imagine going back to the peanut butter.
They keep me full, and they give me a little bit of a sweet kick when I need one. I'll stick with them for a while.

living in Canada? it's kind of hard for me to compare for you as apparently ' ours' are different from yours? we have 2 to choose from. a Peanut butter one, and a Fruit and nut one.......... both chocolate coated . I don't mind them? but I can't say I LOVE them? I'm not a real Chocolate fan..... ( yeah I know!! how weird is that LOL ) and I think that part bothers me more than the actually bar itself? I just don't feel like having 'chocolate' at 11:00 in the morning? so I have opted to have a bar maybe 3 days a week? and the other 4 I have a yogurt and a Trail Mix packet / plus a MultiVitamin. this was a recommendation from my JCC by the way.

Well, I guess we AT Bar likers/lovers are still in the distinct minority...LOL! Lnwlfs, I think we're two of the top defenders... ;-) I actually prefer mine in the afternoon when I just need that energy boost so I eat my fruit snack in the morning because I tend to not get as hungry b/w breakfast and lunch, but between lunch and dinner I tend to get really hungry and the bars really curb that. Also I find that they are so sweet that I don't crave sugary snacks or chocolate when I eat them during the day.

Initially I was having hunger pains during the night. I started having the peanut butter anytime bars as a bed time snack and found that it really carried me through the night. I really like them cold with a hot cup of tea!

I like AT bars - both flavors.
I would even like to try the fruit on with chocolat from Canada too. I eat mine at night and do refrigerate them first. Each day I put the bar in the fridge and have it at night. No desire to snack at night after that!
I am such a picky eater, I am surprised to read other responses.

I'm not sure if you could say I "love" them but I don't think they are disgusting. I have eaten many different kinds of protein or meal bars over the years and they are typically the same. I tend to eat them fast and drink lots of water. They definitely fill me up and keep those hunger pains at bay until lunchtime.

Hi all
This is my first week on JC and I do enjoy the Anytime Bars. I find myself looking forward to having mine. I have only tried the cookies and cream and am anxious to try the peanut butter. I think they are a great mid-morning pick me up.

I definitely like the peanut butter AT bars. They ARE a bit chalky and stick the roof of my mouth, but it encourages me to drink water in the morning (I have it as a mid-morning snack) and keeps me full for another two hours. It's a great bridge from breakfast to lunch.

I like the Peanut Butter AT's ALLOT!
I've become accustomed to their flavor, plus, got over the mentality of thinking they were going to be like a CANDY bar!
They carry me too- either from mid-morning til lunch, or many times- from my P/T evening job til I get home for dinner! What a lifesaver, and filling!

I find the peanut butter edible, but can 't eat them everyday.
Maybe, this week I might try the cookie n cream.

I just finished my first week - down 5 pounds! - and I do like the AT bars - the pb more than the cookies and cream - as a mid-morning or afternoon snack, either with milk I didn't have at breakfast or, as the weather gets colder, a nice cup of tea. They are a little waxy, but they are more filling than fruit sometimes. I do look forward to them now, but I may feel differently a few weeks from now!
