I'm new to this forum and just wondering if anyone has found something similar to the Anytime Bar in nutrition/calories? I like them, but would love to find something comparable but less expensive. Just wondering. Thanks!

I replace the anytime bars with Dannon lite yogurt, the small 40 ounce containers. I buy them in a flavor variety 12 pack and they are not too expensive and only 60 calories!

I am substituting the Any Time bar with a Slim Fast Optima drink as I do not like the "new & improved" taste of the AT bars. I spoke with my consultant and was informed that this would be an even trade but to take a multivitamin as well.
I find the Slim Fast drink keeps me feeling full longer and has quite a few varieties in flavors.

I substitute the Anytime Bars with a multivitamin and WW yogurt, 4 oz = 70 cal. 6 oz = 100 cal.

I opted out of buying the Anytime Bars---I don't care for nutrition bars in general and I'd heard from quite a few folks that the AT bars were not all that good. I know some people like them but....
Instead I have a 6 oz. fat-free sugar-free yogurt, about 90-100 calories. I was told that I should also take vitamins with the yogurt. I was taking vitamins before I joined JC so I didn't buy the JC vitamins/supplements.

I'm not nuts about the anytime bar....so I substitue a an individual string cheese....It covers the Milk requirement.
My counselor helped with this because I'm not milk person...It works for me...Good Luck...

I find that the bars are too heavy and make me feel sick so I talked to my consultant and she recommended one piece of multi grain toast with 2 tsp of peanut butter, 1/2 cup skim milk and a multi vit. I really like this alternative and it seems to be working for me.

I was told by my J C counselor to drink an extra glass of milk or eat a fat free sugar free yogurt and be sure to take the multi vitamins.

I replace the anytime bars with Pria 110 calorie bars. They taste great and the fat, carbs and protein are pretty much the same, in fact the pria bars have a gram of fiber. The also have added vitamins and minerals and the best part is I buy them at Walmart.

Thanks for the info. I just started this week & think the AT bars are awful. It's like eating cardboard. I already bought some of that yogurt, so that is good info.

I'm a fan of the fiber 1 bars now. They are extremely good and 35% of your daily fiber in one bar! Get the oats and chocolate...they are my favourite! And as always I take a multi vit with it.

I replace the AT bars with Fage non-fat Greek yogurt. 90 calories, 0g fat, 7g carbs, and 15g of protein. I buy it at Trader Joe's and I add splenda to it.

I like the Kidz Cliff Bars. They are about 120 calories and packed with vitamins and nutrients. Made mostly of organic ingredients and taste great. I like the chocolate brownie and the chocolate chip flavors.

I'm not sure what calorie level plan you are on, but that doesn't sound like an even exchange to me. I'm new to JC, but I've been counting calories for years, and multi-grain toast, PB and milk would add up to be at least three times the calories in the AT bar.

Not three times, but more. Being raised vegetarian, I was taught that peanut butter on wheat bread combined to create a complete protein, so it's a good thing. But, the exchange for Anytime Bar is one milk plus the vitamin.
1 slice low-cal wheat bread = 45 cal
1/2 c skim milk = 45 cal
2 tsp peanut butter = 60 cal
Total = 150 cal
Anytime Bar = 110 cal
However, since the post you were replying to was almost a year old, I doubt that it's really something that someone is doing currently.

i dont know how they taste because they should be here any day but i did alot of research on line and the closest thing is the pria 100, i found , i got a good deal through drugstore.com, total of 45 bars for tax and everything 27 dollars, got all 3 flavors coming...my husband and i both on JC so trying to find ways to save money and that seems an easy way to start with some subsituting to save money....will post if good or not...

I like Balance Bars. The only difference I could find is the fiber content is a little lower than the Anytime Bars. Also, they are 220-240 calories each. Occasionally, I will buy a large box from Sam's or Costco and cut them all in half and put them in those little snack baggies. That's when I am feeling extra thrifty. The cost was something like $0.50 per bar /2 = $0.25 instead of $10.00/7.

Do you know why people say they need to add a vitamin? I take a multivitamin every night..Why would I need more?
