Has anyone found a good substitue for an Anytime bar? Like another bar similiar in Protein and calories?
All I found was the South Beach diet bar so far.
Thanks!!

If you click "Search" above, and search for anytime bar, there are a ton of threads about this. General jist is that there is no real sub because of the vitamins and the JC recommended sub is multivitamin and a milk serving.

I did the anytime bars for the first two weeks and then got tired of the flavor....I prefer doing a fat free yogurt because it gives me more variety of flavor (I can even pick the dessert flavored ones which I love) but make sure you take a vitamin supplement if you opt of using them!

When I told my consultant that I just couldn't stomach the bars or drinks she gave me a group of foods to add to your daily intake to substitute for them. It is 2 cups spinach, 1 tbsp cashews, 1 cup yogurt, and 9 dried apricots. You just need to eat these (not all together) as part of your daily food allowance and skip the bar so add a spinach salad and the others to your food and you also feel fuller ( I think) because you are getting more volume of food.

Thanks for the info, I too have been gagging down the anytime bars, but I know I need to eat them to keep from being hungry. The stuff you mentioned sounds much better. I could probably make a pretty good salad with the lettuce apricots and nuts, top it off with some balsamic, and have a yogurt snack later!!

I'm a returning member and looking for a substutute to the AT bar. I would love to do the yogurt but don't get a break at work during that time so I need something I can carry in my pocket and munch down while working. I am on my feet and moving all day so anything refrigerated or eaten with a utinsil is not an option. I know I will need something to bridge the hunger gap till lunch...any suggestions?

I would go to the grocery store with the nutrition info from the anytime bars written down, and try to find a protein bar w/ similar info. You may have to buy those larger protein bars that have a lot of cals. and cut them in half to get the high protein.

I have always been confused as to why the Luna bars could not be considered a sub for a AT bar. I know it has between 40-60 additional calories, but if you use it for your limited frees for the day as well the calorie content is the same.
I asked and have been told it is a milk 1/2 starch and 1/2 meat.
But to be honest I have been using them for about 3 weeks now and have not seen a drop in my weight loss. I just know that I don't have any room for limited frees.

I went on a search for a substitute for the anytime bars. I found Pria Powerbars to be a very close substitute. They have the exact same calories, 2 extra grams of sugar and 2 fewer grams of carbs. It is packed full of vitamins like the anytime bars. They have several different flavors and taste great!! Now all grocery stores have them, but I did find them at target and Giant Eagle. Hope this helps!!

Equate bars from Walmart are a great substitute. I haven't bought the JC bars in a couple of months. I told my consultant I couldn't stand to eat them any longer.

I found 100 calorie BALANCE BARs and have been substituting them for the Anytime Bars. I'm not sure about the nutrition facts matching up exactly but it sure quiets my hunger between breakfast and lunch. It has 6g of protien and 5g of fiber. The label says it's an excellent source of calcium and lists it as 20 percent. I will have to go to the info on JC foods to compare values as I have never bought the Anytime Bars.
I'll on the lookout for Pria Power Bars and Equate bars.
Thanks for the info.
