Finding balance is like building a house.
The tools can be provided for you but you have to build your own house.
Let's look in the toolbox.... a jenny craig menu, a consultant, food for the week. Bad Weather = lapses. Building a house=finding balance.
Where to start...you need a foundation! Yes a foundation. Gosh I've never built a foundation before ..this is hard. Lets see...my menu is my blueprint , my consultant is my friendly neighbor and my meals are my materials.
Ok I followed my blueprint almost perfectly this week , it was tough but with a few missteps I got that concrete poured! Alright! I've got a base..I'm feeling pretty good about that but I don't have a roof over my head yet.
My neighbor came over today and said that I'm progressing very nicely.

This week I got some framing done on my house. It's hard work sometimes but I have some great tools and sometimes I even forget I'm working. There was one day that almost did me in ...a hailstorm came through in the way of pizza and did a little damage to some of the building I had done. It was a setback but I put on my hardhat and repaired the damage. My neighbor said that hailstorms are fairly common this time of year but that my work so far looks great and to keep working.

Two weeks later and my framing is complete! Yes! It's starting to look like a house..it is! My neighbor can't believe how great I am doing.

Well...this week was tough..it rained quite a bit and I'm feeling very discouraged. The worksite is all muddy and it's just depressing. My neighbor said not to look at the mud, to focus on the great foundation that I have poured and though the framing is damp it was built well and will dry out. I don't know whether to put my hardhat back on or to just go back to living in my tent. I've lived in that tent a long time and it's comfortable enough. I mean...I'd like a house and a roof over my head but I don't know if I was cut out for this.

Hello again. I had a rough week but I did put that hardhat back on and went back to work on my house. There was another short storm this week but I was prepared for it this time. I planned ahead and covered my work with a tarp that my neighbor gave me. I worked extra hard that day after the storm and rode it out quite nicely if I do say so myself.

It's been a few weeks since I've checked in , the usual ups and downs these past few weeks but I'm getting better and better at my planning and efficiency. It's gotten a lot easier over all. And guess what? I'm done framing...I'm halfway there my neighbor says! I'm really proud of myself. I really want that roof up before winter comes...lots of storms possible during that time...pecan pie..grandmas dressing with gravy..mmmm..ahem! anyway as I was saying I really want to get my roof up before winter so that I can keep myself as protected as possible.

Hello! One month later and guess what!??! I've got a roof. I've got a strong foundation, I've got a roof and my house is framed and I've got walls and electricity and everything. The storms still come and I've lost a few shingles off of my roof, because after all , no house is perfect but when I lose those shingles or have a broken window, I put my hard hat back on and I climb up on my ladder and I fix it. It will be an ongoing thing but I have succeeded and will continue to maintain the beautiful home that I have built because I deserve it and I'm worth it and I worked darn hard for it. Well I have to go , my neighbor and I are putting in a flower bed today.

Have a beautiful day!!
