I had a conversation yesterday with a friend at work that is haunted by the many clothing sizes in her closet. I told her that I cut out every tag as soon as I brought an item home. I don't care one twit whether my jeans are size 12 or size 8.... they fit ME! Just this week, I wore a pair of size 12 on Monday, size 10 on Tuesday, and size 8 on Wednesday. Did I suddenly shrink two sizes? Don't think so! I'm just me. And I buy pieces of fabric that look good and feel good when they're draped over my body. The vendor can put whatever number they want on the garment... I'm going to remove it as soon as I get home anyway.

Buy what FITS! No matter what size YOU are or what size the CLOTHES are. Don't let a stupid little number that no one will ever see alter your image of yourself. Same goes for that pesky scale too!! smile.gif

Lester..good topic. I too have different sizes in my closet and today was a perfect example of that.
We went to a wedding and all week I couldn't decide what to wear. I knew the heat would be close to 100 and that had a lot to do with. However I went with a tailored 3 piece outfit that is beaded. It happens to be a size 10. Earlier in the week I was leaning to a size 6 cocktail dress. Althougth the 10 was a little bigger than it should be..it gave me room around the beads of the tank and beaded jacket. No spanx were needed today.
When I finished getting dressed...I thought...this is really comfortable..and my daughter kept saying. you look so tiny in that..The six dress was just as nice but this other one was a little dressier.
So size in certain clothes are tricky. I have 8's as well. The only good thing is the next time I wear that 3 piece outfit..if it's tight...then I know it is time to cut back and rev up on something else.
I totally agree that size is very hard to be consistant with. The clothing manufactures have their own size charts apparently. I would so much rather look better in something that fits me than a smaller size that is going to tug in an area that will only draw the eye to that area.
