What do you all wear to work out? i don't care about looking good or making a fashion statement, but i am looking for tips on clothing/apparel that repels sweat! i sweat sooooo badly when i'm working out and it just feels gross against my skin.

I tend to wear a sports bra, T-shirt, and capri-type workout pants. I, too, sweat like crazy. I think I would do much better with a tank top or something, but haven't been able to wear one at the gym yet (too concerned about the rolls coming out of places?!)
Anyway, I've been tempted to try some of the stuff that says it wicks sweat away, but haven't wanted to invest in the larger sizes, wanted to wait until I'm closer to my goal weight to spend money. But then again, I have to work out to get to my goal, right? Hmmmmm... what a dilemma!

Target and Walmart have lower cost versions of the cool max (sweat wicking) clothing. We went to a flea market the other day and wore our shirts just so we would be more comfortable. You can even find socks, underwear and bras with this material if you want to go all out. Sweating is a good thing - it is detoxing you body!

I found cool, cotton comfy shorts and tanks and sleeveless tops at JC Penney on sale. They have an entire section of "workout/exercise clothing (long pants, jackets, matching tops, tanks, t-shirts, etc.)Only paid about $5 per piece. I LOVE 100% cotton. These are soft and not too tight. They also sell the "wicking" material clothes. I've not tried those.
I really like what I have cuz it mixes/matches easily, and for some reason, I FEEL better about myself and exercising when I put on these "special clothes"- vs. just any ol' t-shirt and shorts.
Did not spend allot either!

And, I always carry a small hand towel with me- for sweat swabbin'! You could buy several different ones if you as so inclined- most clearance towels include odd/single towels at a super reduced price! Again- JC Penney, Bed, Bath & Beyond, WalMart, etc. I love JC Penney.

A few weeks ago, I went shopping and found some great deals on workout clothes that wick sweat, and OH goodness have they made a difference in my workout. I used to wear a t shirt and shorts, and by the end of the workout I was soaked and the clothes were extremely heavy. I still sweat like a beast, but I am so much more comfortable and cooler than before, and I feel so much lighter. I actually dry off in a reasonable amount of time, and as soon as I stop moving I am actually COLD because they work so well. I find I am more excited to go to the gym and much more comfortable at the gym because of these clothes. They have made such a difference.

Light weight--breathable fabrics help--lets the air evaporate the sweat instead of holding it against your skin.

I agree with Jodi. I have been a dancer my whole life and know the value of breatheable fabrics. Think natural fibers like combed (soft) cotton. You will sweat "less" because your skin can breathe and the sweat evaporates before you feel it. I swear by champion sports bras. You can buy them at target and they close with a hook and eye in the back and are lightly lined. They hold you up and in like no body's business! lol Just fyi. I am not all that large up top but I like to be "locked and loaded" when I walk/jog/run. :-)

I buy workout clothes with wicking material. I love the Maia Moving Comfort sports bras, but the smallest size they have is a C cup, so now I wear Danskin bras I get at Target. They're for high impact activities so they hold everything in place, but they are hard to get off when I'm all sweaty.

I have several UnderArmour shirts that I like. My favorite running shorts are New Balance shorts with spandex shorts underneath. I usually wear running skorts, but I have a hard time finding ones long enough so they don't chafe. The two I have now are from Champion at Target, but it chafes after about 8 miles, even with BodyGlide, and from One More Mile, which is super comfortable and really cute, but kind of cheaply made; I don't think it'll last very long. I've heard great things about SkirtSports (or is it SportSkirts?), but they're kind of expensive for me.

I tend to sweat a lot, so I like the wicking fabric. Some brands are really soft and comfortable, but some feel like super cheap, sticky polyester to me. I like UnderArmour and Mizuno, but most of the Champion stuff makes my skin crawl.
