I still have apple crisp left over from last year.

I bought a bunch of it up, thought I would like it more than I did. Every now and then I will get one out and heat it up, but I would much rather have lemon cake or the chocolate caramel peanut bar.

Out of all of these items what ones strike your fancy? I didn't get overly excited about any of them in particular, although the pumpkin spice cake sounded okay and who doesn't love gingerbread men?!
But, the thought of adding more soups to the food list wasn't too exciting.

I completely agree! Nothing of too much substance added to the menu.

Bosstbone,
You are right. But I do not eat lunch meat so salad kits are no good and neither is the panini because of the turkey unless it will be more like a breast rather than deli meat). I am also allergic to mayo and sour cream so I am very limited with my food choices. I guess I was hoping for more veggie oriented foods to be introduced. I am pleased with the new treats that will be offered. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Is the chicken salad mayo based? I may be willing to give it a shot.

The chicken salad IS mayo based, but the turkey cranberry kit is not...

Boss...thanks for sharing this and really, I totally appreciate where you are coming from and what help you've been hear lately.
My issue: Its an employee at a center who is sharing this---why is it not on the front page of JC website...a link to new foods coming?! Its JC corporate that should really do a better job about advertising their program and showing us that they indeed do have plans...many may not come and read the message boards...but would navigate through the website...people thinking of joining would say "hey look, they are adding different choices...cool...."
That said, they have added one entree and 2 salad kits...that is, indeed, pretty sad in my opinion...the gingerbread men come out every year...salad kits are repeats too...do they think we need more soup?

Won't let me edit post: they have one truly new thing---the paninni and I'm happy to see they did that---something different than the same ol' things they tend to do.

Very exciting, thank you! I liked both those salad kits, I'll know to stock up this year as I thought they were much better than the regular salads.

Wow, I've been on vacation and just saw this. I am thrilled that they are bringing back the Turkey Cranberry Salad and took my suggestion (wow somebody finally listened!) on a panini. BUT WHERE'S THE HOT APPLE CRISP????? We had pages and pages of disappointed people writing in wanting it back. I would be very sad and surprised if they didn't bring it back, at least temporarily.

Boss,
Thanks for sharing!
I can't wait until the gingerbread men are back. I joined in January 2007 and they were already out of them. So when they came last Christmas and my consultant told me they were in I said "Oh, I'll take 3" thinking they would be individual portions like everything else! Then she comes out with all these bags and I've got 3 big tubs of cookies! I found that if I left them in the tubs they were a problem because it was too easy to grab a couple so then I individually bagged them all as soon as I opened a tub and they stayed fresher and I was able to control my portions that way. They are so great with a cup of hot tea.
I'm also looking forward to the Thai chicken soupetizer. I really wish they would bring back the Thai chicken lunch. That was my favorite.

I'm looking forward to the pumpkin cake. Yum! And the gingerbread cookies. I have never tried those. I guess I've never been on the program at Christmas time. The panini sounds pretty good too. I am glad they bring back seasonal items.

Again, I just wanted to iterate, this list isn't final. They COULD bring back the apple crisp, just I'm unsure... it doesn't look good, but you never know, right?

I will be stocking up on some of the "limited time" foods for sure! I bought several Red White and Blue cheese cakes because I like them better than the regular cheese cakes. I can always use the extra stuff I buy to help me later especially on my days on my own. Anything new is a treat to me!

To the poster who still has the hot apple crisp in your freezer...HOW DO YOU DO IT?!?

I'm sure it's easier when you don't care for it, like you said, but for me...that wouldn't last a week!
I'm looking forward to the panini and pumpkin spice cake. I love autumn and the foods assocated with it!

Thanks TBoss! Appreciate you sharing the new coming attractions!
I will be willing to give all a try! Except the gingerbread men cookies- I do much better with pre-portioned snacks too. I heard last year they were in one big container, not portioned out. I'm still struggling with cookies/snacks in general, that is just me. I DID hear they were delish!

I think the Turkey salad kit sounds great! Also looking forward to the Pumpkin cake and the panini. Don't care for Gingerbread, but that is my personal preference and I hope it is as good as everyone is anticipating!

Well, maybe they took the comments about portion control and changed them this year? That would be great if they wrapped in individual servings.

I too saved one apple crisp until the day before it's expiration date. Since it was a limited time item, I bought as many as I could each week. My centre limited us to 7 a week. I kept one until somewhere around march or april and when it was about to expire, I peeled, cored, and chopped an apple, microwaved it to get it soft and mixed it in with the apple crisp. It more than doubled my portion and I was so delighted! As for those who love the gingerbread men, I still have about 3/4 of a tub in my cabinet. I like them much better stale. You could chip a tooth on them when they are fresh out of the tub. Needless to say, I was not crazy about them but did choke some down with applesauce. For those who were not on the program last year when the turkey cranberry salad came out, it is better than the chicken and tuna kits but still cat food!
I am looking forward to the panini and praying that someone doesn't set their microwave on fire a la the quesadillas that lasted one week. BRING THE QUESADILLAS BACK!!!!!!!
I also have a question regarding the spaghetti and meatballs: does this mean we are going to have rotini and meatballs AND spaghetti and meatballs? Please tell me the spaghetti is a frozen meal. I will do the happy dance if it is.

The cinnamon twists came into our centre today and they are out of this world. They remind me of when you bake an apple pie and the filling spills onto the crust and gets sticky. If you love flaky pie crust with bubbled over filling, this is the snack for you!
i had the cinnamon twist today! They are soooooo good and satisfying!!!

I've put this somewhere else, but just a thought for the holidays:
1) turkey, stuffing, vegetables AND SWEET POTATOES
2) Pumpkin cheesecake (or cake)
3) Hot apple struedel, crisp with cinnamon
4) Cinnamon bun/cookies
5) Thick Butternut squash soup with dash of cinnamon
6) Hearty (not watery) Split pea soup with ham/turkey
Just some thoughts. Does anyone else have any autumny ideas?
