Yes, I went out and got it the first day.
It's what I needed... total lazy gamer guy here and it's fun, easy, AND it tracks everything ... BMI, weight... etc.
It's something I would want to do EVERY day... so I highly recommend it to people who don't like leaving the house to exercise.... What are you waiting for? GO BUY IT!

I too bought it the first day. I too am a lazy gamer (gal). Love love love it! Im trying to make an effort to do 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening. Its amazing that the hula hoop was so much fun the first day, and now being the second I can REALLY feel it in my abs... Im sore! But its fun! Its also interesting to know how off balance I really am. And what a huge improvement a day makes in realigning your spine/body when you do the proper exersizes!

We pre-ordered our WiiFit also and got it the first day (yesterday). I love it and have played alot just to unlock more. I was very excited to get the kickboxing unlocked. I have also enjoyed the step and the hulahooping. I would love to see them come out when a safe support to increase the height of the step. Also, it seems the free step is rather boring as there is no variety..no side steps or anything...although maybe that is something I need to unlock. I would also love to see some jogging games that give more scenery. But I did an hour yesterday and almost an hour today with plans to still do more. I do love it.

Ohh Kickboxing? I must have not played enough yet to unlock that.
But I did the hula hoop, step aerobics and some of the sking games this morning...fun! fun! Oh and the running in place, that kicked my out of shape butt!

I preordered and it came end of last week. I set it up last night and already burned off some calories using it.
It was a little objectional when after it measured my data and said I was obese (I hate that term) THEN plumbed up my Mii person to match - tsk tsk. Not motivating but certainly in your face - lol

I love this! My favs are the boxing (punching bag), running, dance/rhythm steps, and hoola hoop. I do a little bit of everything but am still am on the basic levels. At least I have lots to work up to. The balance stuff is cool. It's all fun and there is lots that is challenging. You just keep wanting to do it to beat the "game" and/or do better then your prior attempt. Very motivating.
My only objection is the board could be a little big bigger (women size 10 here with extra wide shoes due to foot issues).

Hi all Wii Fit'ers and everyone else,
I absolutely love it. I got it today and burnt callories getting it. It's nowhere to be found so I got up at 5 am today and took a subway to Nintendo Store at Rocefeller Plaza. I was there at 6:35 and was 23rd in line.
After two hours of waiting, shifting from one leg to another, store employee came out and started putting the blue straps on peoples wrists. I was afraid he wasn't going to get to me because it didn't look like he had that many but he did. All they had for this Saturday was 30 of Wii Fit's for about 100 people waiting.
If I came 10 min later I would not get mine today.
Anyway, I set it up the moment I got home even though I was sleepy and tired and tried some of the excercises. Then later I did more for a total of 2 hours. I am thrilled that I got it and even though I can't tell how it will be 2 months from now but so far I love it and I see myself doing it few times a week if not more.
I would recomment it to anyone. It definitely got me moving more than I ever did.
I also like to play tennis from the Wii Sports but it gets boring a bit and here with all the options to unlock extra stuff it's definitelly not borring, at least not yet.
LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT.

Just got it yesterday and logged an hour and ten minutes! woohoo I LOVE IT!
I did the running in place and was sweating like crazy in 5 minutes! then i unlocked the longer run and decided to try the treadmill with the wiimote what a great way to jog for 10 minutes without thinking about it. and you get points! Being a competative person that is the BEST part about it. you get to work out and play a game?!?! awesome.
The most fun were the yoga poses, the ski jump, and the tightrope (TOO HARD THOUGH!)
I can't wait for the snowboarding, more yoga poses, punching bag. this is going to be a great game and i might burn some calories.
I don't like how it told me I am overweight though...eep.

I FINALLY beat the expert tight rope walk... woot!
Also, got perfect rythmn on the basic step.
My husband beat me to the perfect score in all the soccer ball levels...

, but I got him in the ski jump.
I can't surpass my score of 1345 in the expert boxing!
And what's funny is that it's my original score... very motivating, yet frustrating!
Hah, let's post our high scores, and try to beat them!

It seems my mii has a talent for getting hit in the head with pandas and soccer shoes but manages to escape each soccer ball which comes her way. She's the only one in the family who has managed to earn a negative score on the soccer.
Oh, well, my portly little mii does quite well at the hula hoops challenges, some of the yoga, and the iceberg fish bopper. She trips up on the jogs around the parks, falls over doing the tree pose, and trips all over herself even doing the basic step moves.
And oddly enough, I still enjoy it - porked out mii and all.

I've had mine since may....I even broke it in the middle of stap aerobics. I wasn't doing anything unusual so I don't know why....Nintendo paid to have it shipped back, they repaired it and returned it. I am glad to have it back....I miss the yoga.

I forgot to ask this in my last reply...on the jogging what is it that makes you get a higher burn calorie or whatever your score is? Is it keeping scored on how well you keep pace? then how do I do that better? If I run to fast I trip and fall. If I go slow I feel like I am not burning calories. Confused about that? Help?

I'm sitting here giggling over the visuals here. Oddly enough, your post is the one that has sold me on getting a Wii for myself! Too bad you can't record your Mii's antics and post them on YouTube. That would be hilarious.

I love my Wii Fit, and tell everyone about it. My family says i am religious about it. I love the Advanced Step, best socre to date is 645, and I warm up with the basic step.
I also love the Sun Salutation, and Downward facing Dog, and the Plank Challenge.
I am a real dork at the Soccer header thing. I don't know why my Mii is not laid out cold as she gets hit with the panda and shoes too!
I love the Table Tilt, it is so much fun to get through the levels and see all the balls turn back into Mii's.
I was at my daughters today for a birthday party, and used her Wii. She was so prud that she had beat my records, so I had to go there and beat her to give her some new goals.
I try to do a minimum of 30 Mins Aerobics each day, 10 mins each of Yoga, Balance and Strength Training.
My Jenny Story is....
SW: 185 Aug 9, 2006
GW: 135 April 25, 2007
CW: 141 July 26, 2008.
I have been on maintenance for 16 months now. During the first 12 Months of Maintenance I was never more than 7# over my GW and that was after a week of vacation.
I have found that this spring I have had a lot of family stress, and my weight has been fluctuating between 135 and 142.
I hope it has allsettled down for a while so i can get back on track.
I LOVE My Wii Fit, and I am a pretty consistent bowler and tennis player on Wii Sports too.

Totally cracking up at this!! I too suffer from more pandas and cleats then soccer balls! Ha ha. But as a STEP instructor I was so determined to acheive a totally perfect score that I find myself working out for an hour at a time just on that!! If my kids didnt want to play my house would probably fall down around me while I played!!

I've had the Wii fit for about 100 days now and passed the 20 hour mark for total exercise time. I love and use it every other exercise session (alternating with bicycle). I'm at the point where I really need something challenging, especially to burn the calories and get the cardio up. So I do 2 yoga, 2 strength exercise and then do the 20 minute free run in the program. I just starting running, change the channel, and get lost in some program for 20 minutes. Then I wind down with 2 balancing games. I just love the marbles and the skiiing program. The scoring system is getting annoying now that all of the top scores are me and they are only off by 1 or 2 points each. I hope when they put this out again, they will have a way to reset the scores. I could delete my Mii to clear my scores, but I got my weights in there for the last 100 days. My kids have given up because it is too depressing for them not to get in the top 10 of the scores. But they have their own games. But I think the Wii fit is brillant overall and hope that other companies continue in this mode. Who would think that a 50 year old mom would be into video games... Just started Jenny Craig three weeks ago and its nice having the Wii Fit to track my weight for the last three weeks. I'm finally losing weight with Jenny Craig and the Wii. The Wii got me in better physical shape, but I still didn't lose weight and I got over 50 lbs to go. Go WII FIT!!!

I love my wii fit. I have been on it for 18 days and this week I lost 1.3 lbs, and I owe part of it to the running in the morning and the hula hoop, I unlocked the super hula hoop, it's fun except for the part of getting hit in the head by incoming hula hoops you are supposed to catch while you are hula hooping.

I FINALLY got one last weekend! My mom walked into a GameStop and asked if they had any. They had them in the back! Yes! It became my birthday gift! I have been doing it just about every day since last Saturday. My calves are really sore today. I try to do all the yoga and strength training poses whenever I am playing. I like the hula hoop and running as well, but really like the yoga and strength exercises the most. My 7-year old daughter is VERY competitive, and has also been so upset with not being in 1st place for anything. My almost 3-year old son loves to watch and pretend he is playing too. It is great how it tracks your progress. I am so thrilled to have it! It has changed up my exercise routine, which I find I need every few months. Will be good to have as the cold months roll in too.

I used my WiiFit for the first time last night. It was so much fun.
I have a question, though. My 12 year old daughter is wanting to use it, which I think is great, and I want to encourage her. However, I am very hesitant to have her do her Mii and be told she's overweight (or I dread "obese"). I have tried to protect her from those labels, trying to give her self-esteem to be proud of who she is, no matter what her weight.
Do you think I am just being too overprotective?

Sep 30 2008, 09:20 AM
Hi, Lnwolfs,
I don't think you're wrong to be concerned. The things we hear as children, when we don't have the tools to filter the safe from the dangerous, really make impact. Think of all the things you used to believe as a child that you suddenly realized as an adult weren't true.
My brother used to call me "fat" and "lard" when we were kids. I was going through some old photos recently and realized I wasn't fat at all! I certainly am now -- truly, overweight on every measure, not exaggeration -- and have to wonder how much that image of myself through his eyes impacted my behavior as an adult.
It's so difficult to know what to do with children... you want them to be strong and fit and healthy, but don't want them obsessing over food and weight and body issues. You'd think they'd have the option on the Wii for your Mii to be "truthful" or "gentle". At least based on the age of the person.
I wish you all the best in finding the way that works best with your little one. Your heart is in the right place, and I'm sure your intuition will guide you to the answer.

Yes, the WII fit can be brutually honest and it is difficult for kids to hear. But the Wii Fit algorithm is not set up to judge children, even teens. That's why there are growth charts for kids. Both of my kids came off a little heavy. One was truly heavy but the other is totally normal for the growth curve. I've told my kids that the Wii Fit algorithm is based for adults. Just because it says they are overweight doesn't mean they are because the Wii Fit doesn't understand Kids weights and heights. The wii fit is also difficult for kids because, as others say, of the competitive nature of ranking. For exercise, my kids love the Dance Dance Revolution for the wii. it is more in tune with the teen.

My husband and I are in our 60's and bought a Wii fit a couple of weeks ago. I have lost just over 3 pounds and he has lost a couple! On checking with our bathroom scales the Wii Fit is saying we are lighter by a few pounds but who cares so long as we are losing. I now weigh in at 153 pounds and he is 159 pounds. We both feel so much better for the exercise and the balance games are so much fun. I especially love the boxing and usually finish with the Zen candle - nice cool down! We also like the idea of being able to work out when we feel like it and not have to drag off to the gym etc. I do an hour a day and my Hubby does about half that. Just love it!!

I think any of the games on there that make you use your body is awesome! For starters, it may not be an exersize game, but ROCK BAND 2 sure can give you a work out! LOL, I play the drums and sing at the same time and you def get an upper body workout!

Hi Everybody,
I have had my Wii for almost 5 weeks,it is sssooooo addictive!!! I do the Wii fit 5 days a week, and then I play tennnis matches, hit tennis balls into a bullseye and a net over and over and over...then I bat at baseballs over and over and over, then I bowl matches over and over( I hit the Pro level last night YYYIIIIPPPPEEEEEE!!!!!)and practibe bowl over and over again, thenI box the bag, and the big black trainer as he holds up frisbee thingees in both hands, over and over,The pool is fun too. The ping-pong, Idon't like, Mario brothers Racing is fun, when your bored...but not for exercise........As for the Wii fit, the tightrope is frustrating ,the hulahoop is fun,I love running the short race,....Wii is has changed my life,I wear my pedometer, as soon as I get up in the morning til I go to bed,and I wear it while I exercise with my Wii....
Wii are expensive, but you pay for it quickly,if you use it 4 hours or more a day like i do....
I encourage everyone to get one...it is a good investment and a fun one !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE MY Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter bought me a wii for Christmas and my mother got me the wii fit. I just love it. I have been on it every day since Christmas. I was working out at 10:30 the other night. It is wonderful. I lost 1.8 lbs the week of Christmas and I'm sure part of it was all the wii stuff that I have done.

I play Wii fit 5 days a week, I love I don't have to leave the house to exercise. My favorite is boxing, and step. I have been afraid of the running. Gonna try it tonight. I would definatly recommed it to everyone. My family doesn't like that I have all the high scores either. Just makes them want to work harder, lol.
Happy WII fit fun everyone!

When I first got the Wii fit I loved it, I used it daily. Now a few months later I cannot motivate myself to get through the body test [and if I don't like the result I press the power button lol]. It is a great tool though because it works different areas of your body and tracks your progress. I definitely recommend it!
Now since I am dreading that lovely invention I weight lift while waiting for my xbox to find matches or during TV commercials. The time adds up really quick and so do the calories burned. While I use to just sit patiently I now am using it to my advantage.

I just got my Wii and Wii Fit yesterday.

Set it all up this morning and spend over an hour goofing off on it, trying out all the different training tools.
Of course yoga is my favorite.... just wish you could link all the movements together to make one smooth yoga session, it would be more natural than having to manually go through each pose stopping in between each =\
Strangely enough I had a lot of fun with the step aerobics! I would never do step before because I just have no rhythm! lol But I did it a few times and did get better each go round!
I can't really figure out how the running works.... how can it tell you're run speed? I don't have pockets in my workout clothes so I hold the controller, does bounce determine it or what? I would run in place faster and I swear my mii would slow down... then if I just stood there and shook the thing she would speed up! ugh~
And the push up/side plank really kicks my butt!!! X(
But I really did have a ball this morning!

I don't have pockets either so I put it on the side between the waisteband where a pedometer would go. I tried the holding method and I found it to not accurately determine my speed. I think it determines pace my shaking so if you're holding it your arms have longer strides when you run faster [up&down].
