I[font="Garamond"] remember Chicken in Plum sauce...being a 90"s beginner too.
A lot of the early food was that gross shelf life of a 100 years stuff...all set with that.
I wish they would bring back the old prices....we just went up 10cents on all items, due to the gas prices

I am contemplating on returning to the program and was checking out the foods....I am soooooo disappointed that the PASTA OLE is not on the list...I had few lunches I enjoyed, but that one was one of the best!! Are they thinking of bringing it back??
Also they used to feature seasonal foods...I don't see anythign like that...are those gone as well?
Thanks, Melissa

Wow, what is Pasta Ole? Seems like a lot of votes for that one! I remember an old lunch that I wish they still had - Chicken Stir fry, I loved to toss it in a wok! Chicken Parm sounds great too, I would love to see new foods, especially lunches.

Hello! The pasta ole, if I remember correctly, was an orzo pasta with corn, black beans, a few other veggies, in a delicious sauce.
I do not know why they would retire this entree as many ordered it every week. Because of the orzo and the beans, it was hands down one of the most filling lunches. If I had to guess, it was probably one of the highest selling items after the turkey burger, although only JC knows that for sure.
My only guess is that at some point they changed food manufacturers and pasta ole was no longer an option. Then again, who knows?
Although I love this thread, will JC ever bring back an item such as Pasta Ole? Has an item ever been brought back in the history of JC that wasn't seasonal?

I originally started JC in 1997. They had a drink that would replace some of your water. It was Cranberry Apple Cider! OMG!!!!! when I knew they were discontinuing it I bought all my center had. I continued drinking it after I lost my weight. I wish they would bring that back. It was great in the winter. I could have that while everyone else enjoyed their high sugar and calorie versions.

The only thing that was a permanent item when I started that was retired was the beef sirlion and rice bowl. I do miss it but some seasonal items should be made staples like the chocolate mint bar and the apple crisp. I also wish they would can the shelf stable ravioli (no pun inteded) and bring back the ravioli florentine which had just disappeared when I signed up. Some of the entrees mentioned sound yummy like the pasta ole and chicken parm. :-)

Back in the early 90's the turkey dinner had sweet potatoes which I really liked. Also loved the chicken in plum sauce, and the sweet & sour shrimp from back then.
more recent favs that are sadly missing now are the AWESOME veggie burger, the beef sirloin rice bowl, and the fabulous apple crisp. Oh, and the soft chocolate chip cookies... small, yet delightful.

Add my vote for Pasta Ole. It was the best lunch. I just came back and was really sad to see it was no longer around. The first time through I had it several times a week.
There also used to be a pancake mix that made 3 pancakes. It was a dry mix and was pretty inexpensive. I used to have it on the weekends - I'd make banana pancakes.

I miss the Sweet and Sour Shrimp Stir Fry. This was my absolute favorite at the time, I am still bummed they discontinued it.
Also from the late 90s I miss the Pasta Del Mar, which was angel hair pasta with shrimp and a cream sauce. Yum! Does anyone else remember this one?
I also really enjoyed the pancake mix in the pouch. It was easy to add variety by mixing in a fruit serving, like making apple pancakes, blueberry pancakes, banana pancakes, or peach pancakes. It was low-priced, but that is probably why they discontinued it, ha ha!

I bought every last one that was available at my JC.
It kills me to hear some people didn't like it.
