Hello Everyone:

Here's a new thread for May. The other was getting a little long. We would love to have anyone that wants to join our thread. The ladies on this thread are very dedicated and positive about losing weight and willing to help others with their challanges and praise their successes.

Yippee! Hello May.

Why am I ssoooo excited? Because I weighed this a.m. and I was down another pound. After that little episode that made my first month a challenge.... (con-sti-pa-tion), I seem to be started on the JC track. But.... (there's always a "Butt"...), tomorrow, I go to NorthCarolina with my friend and will have to monitor my food choices. On the return, we will stop in KNoxville and I'll get my next 2 weeks of food. I decided to change from Jenny Direct. I really prefere Jenny Direct, but the shipping is a stinger! So, I'll be quiet for a few days... but have a real good motive to stay foicused while I'm away.

Hope everybody else stays happy, healthy, and wise !!! Those were no truer words than to us Jenny Craigers.

Where did the others go that posted a few times during April and then dissappeared? I'd like to know how they are doing too.

Hi Jo

Congrats on the loss. Keep up the good work. Geez. Everybody gets to go somewhere except me. I'll be here monitoring the boards. Have a nice time and take lots of Jenny snacks with you to ward off those hungries.

Has anyone noticed the "new look" at the JC "centres"? I think the new decorating touches are attractive, but I was looking at the poster people and found only one, a woman named "Sue" wearing a dark red suit of some sort, who looks as if she might be over 40. The other poster people, including the one man, look to be in their twenties or thirties. Wonder if the corporate shirts will ever get it, i.e., that the demographic profile of potential clients is quite diverse.

biggrin.gif This is my second week on JC and I love it!! I get Jenny Direct since the nearest center is 100 miles away. I live in the Charleston, SC area and don't understand why there isn't a center here. Anyway, I've lost 6 pounds and have around 30 more to go. I am 65, retired and live at the beach. I get a lot of walking in and that helps a lot. I need a lot of encouragement so this thread will help. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions as I continue on the program. I'm sure I will have a BIG problem when all of my family (son, daughter-in-law, 4 year old grandson and daughter, son-in-law, a 2 year old and 4 year old grandson) visit for 5 days over the Memorial Day Holiday. I guess I can eat my JC meals while they are on the beach and cook for them. Any suggestions???

Hi Barbara:

Welcome to Jenny Direct. I'm on Jenny Direct too because my closest center is about 80 miles away. It's a little more expensive, but I like the convenience of the foods coming to my door. I've been on Jenny since December 20, 2007 and I've lost 45 pounds. I love Jenny Craig too. It's so easy and the weight just falls off. I didn't think anything would ever work for me again and then I found Jenny.

We have a fantastic group of women on this thread. They are very supportive, fun and helpful. I have a tip for you for the holiday dinner. Here's what I do when company comes for the holidays. I fix a healthy meal. For instance, ham is so easy to fix, it's good, and it is considered a lean meat on the Jenny Craig program. I also fix a big salad, mashed potatoes and some veggies to go with it. Then when I build my plate I make certain my portion sizes are correct according to the JC plan. By following this procedure, I can have anything my family eats, still be on program, and I don't feel left out either.

I think one of the biggest problems I had before JC was eating too much. I had to relearn what a portion size was supposed to look like. Now program is easy and I think you will find it becomes easier as you go along too.

Congrats on your first 6 pounds lost and good luck at your next weigh in.

Hi Mary:

Good to hear from you again. We missed you. I'm on Jenny Direct so I don't ever get to a center, but I've heard other members complain about the same thing. Sounds like you might feel a little out of place when you go into the center. I think I would too. That's why I like Jenny Direct. It's a little more expensive, so I went on Rewards to save the money. I also order once a month to save money too. Jenny Direct works for me. Could you do something like that? It might make you feel a little more comfortable. Just a suggestion.

Betty Jo
Attagirl66
Thanks for the suggestion re Jenny Direct, Betty Jo. I considered it when I was laid up in February-March after knee replacement surgery, but I was able to resume driving earlier than I had expected and was able to replenish my stock of JC food before it ran out. Other factors for me are shipping costs and my very small freezer. Interestingly to me, many of the clients who go to my JC centre apear to be in their fifties or older. Also, I need the accountability of the weekly, in-person WI. If I've lost at WI, I tend to splurge a little on Saturday or Sunday, then become more compliant as WI day approaches. This morning at the laundromat, I indulged in a bag of plain potato chips but will skp the mid-morning snack.
All the best,

Hi Everyone,
well, I'm back after another visit to the newest grandbaby visit! He's just getting cuter by the day...now is smiling back at you so cute like they do, and is just barely starting the little coo baby talk thing...think I'm a little possessed by him? laugh.gif Anyway, we had such a great time! And my eldest granddaughter turns 13 this Saturday...her family is planning a special family celebration for her, a kind of entrance into the teen "adult" years, and it's shaping up to be a very special day. then we are all going in for a family picture; it'll be the first official one we've ever done of our grown kids and grandkids. I really wanted one to commemorate our 40th anniversary this June, and they are all humoring me by doing it!

Eating wise, I'm maintaining well, and hoping to lose my proverbial pound this week...I'll know soon! The weather is gorgeous, warm enough to leave the doors and windows open during the day, and the windows open at night...I'm loving the warmer weather...I always feel better when it's warm, not so achy!

Walked about half the days this week....hope to up it back to 5 days this week. It was harder being in the car so much traveling back and forth. But there is a nice park near our son's home, and we walked slowly about an hour there before we went over to do the grandbaby hugging! I find that if I don't try to walk some while we are traveling, I tend to really stiffen up. Anyone else experience that?

Hi Betty Jo,
What's the news on selling your house? Have you made a final decision yet? Missing doing some traveling are you? I don't blame you! It sounds like there's a lot of friends and family stuff happening right now... How's your son in New York doing?

Hi Barbara!
Welcome to the board! Your party over the holidays sounds so fun! You know, I agree with Betty Jo, cook sensibly, some of the normal favorites your family looks forward to, and be very very careful with your portion size....the way they are showing us in our centre here is 1/2 plate of veggies, 1/4 plate of protein, and 1/4 is a starch of some kind. It's easiest for me to remember this rule, and then don't let any of the food touch each other! It'll really help you get the portions right! I've gone to serving myself mainly on salad plates, and that really helps also.

My family happens to enjoy fish of any kind, so I try to make some type of fresh fish that's available, and that always keeps me on track as well! Otherwise, lean towards chicken or turkey!

Hi Mary in Baltimore,
it's good tp see you posting again! Yes, the idea that there are those of us who do really still care about our health at our grand ages seems to get overlooked a bit! That's why I'm glad we have each other here!

How's your pain in your new knee? Are you doing okay with it? It sounds like you've started driving again; can you drive very far or mainly short trips so far?

Hi Jo!
You are doing well! Good for you!

I agree, some of our early posters are now lurkers; I'd just bet you! You know who you are, and we miss your comments! wink.gif
.........................By the way,
If you've accidentally locked yourself out of the postings, just contact the website; I did about a month ago, and they got right back to me with another password to start posting again. You don't lose anything, your normal stuff is still there, really!

Talk to you soon, have a great day!
iopdodger
cool.gif Thanks, ladies, for each of your suggestions for feeding guests and myself. I know exactly what I will fix for them now. This house will be rocking when the 3 little grandsons get together! Thank goodness for the beach. We will pray for great beach weather.

I'm down another 2 pounds today and love it. My hubby and I are ready to go walking now. High tide was only 2 hours ago so I guess we will walk on the sidewalk again. My consultant didn't call this morning and I'm very disappointed. I had some questions for her. Maybe you can help. Can we switch one day's planned meals for another day in the same week? Also, is Crystal Light allowed? I love it!

Have a great day ladies!

Good Morning Ladies,
Well, I survived my vacation - don't think I did too bad. Official WI is tomorrow morning but weighed this morning to see where I was at. Gained l# so I don't feel too bad about that. Ate out once a day for the most part but had lots of coffe treats - Mocha Latte's and such. I just love those things!!!! We didn't get to mall of America. Went to one that was closer and that was plenty big for me. We shopped just about every day and I didn't do too bad - had to sit down and take a few breaks and then kept plugging along. Went to the Lane Bryant store at the mall and was terribly disappointed in their clothes - everything looked like old grannie clothes. I know I'm at that age but I don't want to wear grannie clothes yet!!! Found an awesome store in a smaller town on the way to the mall called "The Avenue". So many neat clothes I had a hard time deciding which ones to take and they have a website so if I want anything in the line of clothes in the future I will definitely check them out first. I bought me a nice and stylish summer wardrobe! We went swimming a couple of nites at the hotel and I just loved it. Thought I was going to sink when I first tried the swimming again after about 20 years, but once I practiced awhile I was doing O.K. I'll never be a great swimmer but at least I found out I can still keep myself above water!!!!! We stopped at "Crystal Cave" on the way home yesterday and it was great!! The tour took about an hour and ended up 72' below ground level. Saw some bats but most of them were gone already for the summer. The climbing up the steps bothered me some but not near as bad as I thought it would.

Betty Jo - congrats on the great loss!! I will be back on plan again now so hopefully by next week I will be able to report a loss again. I doubt that I'll have one tomorrow - I'm hoping to just maintain!! Below 200# - you are very close now - can't wait till I get there myself. Have you heard from your realator yet? Hopefully you will soon so you know where you are at!!

Jo - WTG with the loss this week!! I do the Jenny Direct and the shipping is a stinger but the closest center here is a 2 1/2 hour drive away. I really like my counsellor though and now that I have been doing Jenny this long I get the 25% discound on food so I just figure that covers my shipping costs now, plus I have started doing quite a few of the meals on my own so that helps also.

Arlonne - Glad you got to see the new grandbaby again - they are so cute at his age and can change so much from one week to the next! And a grand-daughter turning 13!! The family picture sounds so great - I would like to have one done too but it is so hard getting everyone together!! Some live up here and the rest are down in Appleton, and with everyone working shifts it is really hard to work it out. Maybe after the great- grandbaby is born we can work something out!!

Barbara - Welcome - sounds great living by the beach!! I just love the water and I would truly love having it so accessable!! We have many lakes around here but the water is only warm enough for swimming about 3 months out of the year. And yes, when I have company I eat pretty much what I make for them and try to watch the portion sizes. I stay away from any fried foods and I also stay away from the ham because of the salt as I have problems with the water retention.

Mary In Baltimore - good to hear from you again!! It does upset a person when they consistantly show all the younger people as poster people. I get several catalogs for larger sized women and in them also it is always younger and much thinner women they use as models. I for one would like to see how some of the styles look on larger women!!

Well, I have to get caught up on some of my cleaning after being gone for almost a week. It has started to look a little like a bachelor's pad around here!! Hope everyone has a great day and will check in again tomorrow with my official WI.

Hello Everyone:

Well, today is Monday. I have not heard from the realtor yet. It's been two weeks now and I'm getting a little concerned. I will probably give him a call this week if I don't hear from him.

Kathy:
It sounds like you had a blast on your trip. It's always nice to get out and see something new. We have a wedding at the end of the month in Wichita, Kansas and I've never been there before except when I was born. So that will be a little interesting. We are being a little conservative about spending because we have determined that it will cost us about $20,000 to move to Alaska. It will pay for itself in one year because we are now paying $18,435 worth of taxes a year in Kansas. We won't pay that much in Alaska. So financially, the move is going to work for us especially if we make a profit on the house. That's what we are waiting on now. The market analysis from the realtor. After that, we will be able to make a final decision. We may have to stay here if we can't sell at a profit.

I've seen Lane Bryant's catalog and I agree. Their clothes are to old looking. The Avenue sounds nice. I'll go in and look at their website. I purchase most of my clothing out of the "Willow Ridge" catalog and the "Old Pueblo Traders" catalog because I don't like to shop that much in the stores. These two catalogs seem to have everything I like. They also have websites. You might take a look.

Don't worry about losing weight this week. Just get right back on plan. You had fun and that's what matters and you didn't have to feel deprived. Isn't that great rolleyes.gif !!! Next week you can be on the losing side of things.

Barbara:
Congratulations on your weight loss. That's fantastic. You can do it!!! I wish I lived by the beach. I did for a while when I lived in Alabama years ago. I loved the beach except for hurricanes.

Yes, you can have Crystal Lite. I drink it all the time for supper instead of milk like I used to. I used to drink milk three times a day and I think that was what was putting weight on me. I've cut that back to once a day and now I have pudding or yogurt for my second milk serving each day. Oh and on your other question about switching meals from one day to the next. This is what my counselor told me. She said you can change anything around that you want from day to day as long as you have one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner. And if you want to have dinner at noon and a lunch at night, that's okay too. I hope I answered your question.

Arlonne:
That little grandbaby soundddddds so cute. I love little babies soooo much. I wish my son would get married, but I think he's going to be a bachelor forever. And if he did have kids, it would be hard for me to get to NYC all the time to see the grandkids. I'm not much for big cities. As a matter of fact I don't like them at all. They scare me because of the crime, etc.

I'm glad you are doing well on your eating program. You don't have to be in a hurry to lose. I think the longer it takes us to get there, the easier it will be to maintain because we are constantly teaching ourselves how to maintain our weight.

Mary
You are so lucky you are close to a center. If I was close to a center I would go in and get weighed each week too. I'm finding that Jenny Craig does not have centers in as many places as you would think. Keep up the good work. And come in a let us know how the new weigh ins are going.

Betty Jo

Hi, Barbara!

I have the same concerns you do with the upcoming holidays and having other people with me who have no dietary restrictions. Yesterday, though, I cooked for four people, three of them eating something different, then made my JC meal. I made all the meals in less than an hour. It was kind of fun, actually, and may be the way I will work with the upcoming holidays. It seems that as long as I am in the kitchen ("in control"), I have no problem. If I go to someone else's home, though, I can't control myself nearly as well. dry.gif

Betty Jo is right about portion size. Once I master that, I should be able to reach my goal and maintain. Right now, I have to strictly limit myself to JC meals.

This is a wonderful suggestion! biggrin.gif I have never heard this. I don't think my center has group meetings, like the center I attended back in 1996, or any kind of instruction. Should look into that.

What kind of support is given through Jenny Direct?

Happy Monday / Tuesday..... it's late.

Tryting to catch up before I fall asleep. Just got home about 6pm. washed a few loads. took a shower. and read the mail and email. My trip to Greensboro NC with my friend to see her son was so much fun. WE laughed a lot and he wasn't gunshy about being with 2 ol' ladies. But he doesn't have a girlfriend currently. Maybe he was lonely. LOL. Before I showered, I stripped and weighed myself. I was greatly apprehensive to do it. It is the end of the day... I never weigh then. I had eaten a few things JC would not care for. And when I travel, I bloat. Well ---- I only gained 1.3 lbs. I'm excited because tomorrow morning, I might be lighter than before I left. Mornings are my regular WI hour.

Catch up: I love the dinner plate division! Thanks.
On clothes stores: I like Liz Claiborne women clothes. Same styles as the 'regulars' wear. Got an outlet right here less than 3 miles from me! And we have nothing else! Their sizes run steady. When I wear a size, I don't have to try it on to see IF it is good..... but now the hip huggers / low riders are popular and I have nnnoooo idea why.

Betty Jo - ever thought about changing realtors? This seems like a bad pattern for him to sell your house.

Arlonne - glad you enjoyed your grandbaby. I'm starting to get withdrawals and may have to visit mine in Texas.

Barbara -- sounds like you have the consultant that I complained about. She didn't call... then she called ONCE. And had nothing to say. And never called back. I called and complained! The head of the consultants called me. Then I got a fabulous consultant. They said IF you do NOT groove with your consulltant, to change! So, I encourage you to "change' !! And Congrats on loosing 6 lbs. I struggled my first month and didn't loose that much. My girlfriend in Texas joined last week and called me after her first WI to announce that she lost 6 lbs. I'm getting a complex here.

Mary in Baltimore -- yeah, I know what you mean about JC supporting the in crowd instead the golden oldies. Funniest thing happened today. My first month, I was Jenny Direct. Shipping got to me, so this month, I stopped today at JC in KNoxville (60+ miles from me)....... I was there a very short time and 6 ladies came in to pick up their food and everyone of them was older than me!!!! I had been thinking that if you were a widow, it would be good to join JC and eat a balanced diet -- your nutrition would be much better. Do you think some elderly are doing this?

OK -- I am going to call JC Direct tomorrow. ... got a BIG question. The only reason that I went to a JC Center was because of shipping costs. Yeah, I signed up for Jenny Rewards and get the discount. So, I asked them if they gave that discount.... thinking they'd say yes. Well, they do NOT. They said that they are franchised owned. Not corporate owned. And I can keep my receipts and turn them in to JC Dorect and they'll send my discount check to me. Somehow, I cannot buy off on that idea. They also had me fill out all of the paperwork because they do not get the JC computer link. Because I take meds, they have to have my doctor ok the plan..... for the second time. I told them this does not make me happy and I do not want my doctor to be bothered again. She may charge me. NOT. I do not have to weigh in or talk to a consultant. I can just order food. I asked if they still had classes to encourage you like they did 12 years ago.... and the girl said they didn't know. She had only been there 6-8 months. Yet I heard the other girl telling her what to do.... like today is Monday and it is her first day. I saw some chairs set up with info and she said that she didn't know what that was for. This is a bit much.

Ok -- I'm going to bed. Will check on you all tomorrow!

Good Morning Everyone,
Well, my official WI this morning and I gained .4# so I am satisfied with that. It could have been much worse having eaten most meals off program for 5 days. I guess even though I didn't eat all the right things I am getting much better at the portion sizes, and I did stay away from the deep-fried foods and desserts. I did go a little overboard with the fancy coffees and I sometimes think they are my biggest downfall when I am traveling, but then that is the only time I indulge in them. A year ago I probably would have gained 10# or more going on vacation so I am pretty happy that I only gained the .4#.

Theresa - Welcome! I do Jenny Direct and I love my counsellor. She is very supportive and has offered many great suggestions for traveling. I guess whether you do Jenny Direct or go to a center there are good and bad counsellors so I just suggest whichever you do if you do not click with your counsellor just keep switching till you find one you really like. Having a counsellor you feel comfortable talking to is really important.

Jo - from what I read on the boards, all centers are different so if yours does not offer the food discounts you actually might be better off doing the Jenny Direct in the long run. The food discounts will pay for the shipping costs after a short while. As I mentioned to Theresa, there are good and bad counsellors wherever you go, so just make sure you get one you are comfortable with.

Betty Jo - I didn't get a chance to check out your clothing sites yet but I wrote the names down for future reference. I don't want to get too many clothes right now cause I am hoping that by next summer I will be at may goal and will be able to wear even smaller sizes. I am hoping to be able to get below the 200 level by my birthday, and reach my goal by next spring. I know things will go slower now and I am perfectly fine with that. Like you said, I want to give my body time to adjust to the loss so that I am not sagging everywhere. So far so good in that area.

Hope everyone has a great day and will check in again tomorrow.

Hi Everyone:

Well today I got my exercise. I went shopping all day. Went from store to store trying to find an optometrist that was actually working. I finally found one and he was the nicest man. I'm glad I had to go to three other places before finding him. He was worth it.

Kathy:

The .4#'s is not bad. As a matter of fact, you did fantastic, I think. I love those special coffees too, but I had to give them up. I realized I was drinking way to much milk in a day and it was putting on weight. You can't have coffee without milk laugh.gif !!! Oh no! Now I drink Crystal Lite Lemonade and I'm very happy. I've just about broke the coffee habit I think.

Hey guess what. When I was out shopping today, I saw a store called "The Avenue". I didn't go in because I had my husband with me, but the thing is I didn't even know there was one in Topeka until you mentioned the name of the store on this thread. Too funny. I guess I'm not a very thorough shopper.

Jo

I think it is rather strange that our realtor can't get back to us within a week with the market analysis on our house. But I've checked with several people. He sells lots of houses. I'm hoping he was just busy and couldn't get to it right away. I contacted him yesterday and he called me right back and made an appointment with us for Friday morning. Sounds like I need to nail him down to a time rather than just waiting for him to call us.

Barbara

Call customer service about your consultant problems. Dont' put up with it. You are paying good money and you deserve good service. Let us know how it turns out. I'm on Jenny Direct too and my consultant is fantastic. Her name is Sara. Ask for her.

Mary

We should all store this information away for future reference. I think the JC program would be perfect for all widows and even widowers. I love the convenience of having my food delivered to the door. I buy my food once a month to save money and I'm on the rewards system too.

Well that's really all for today. Have a great day. I'll see you all back here tomorrow.

Hi Everyone,
Well, it sounds like a whole lot is going on with everyone! The Jenny Direct seems to be a good deal for many of you. My center is a corporate owned center, and it operates according to the book; I do know that north of us 3 of the centers are the franchised ones, and they DO NOT offer any of the specials that the corporate ones do. I think it's a shame, since people start with them not knowing there is a big difference between the two types...

Teresa,
my center doesn't do group meetings any longer, either. But my consultant has been there for 20 years, and she knows so much she is just a wealth of information. She is the 3rd consultant I've had since I went there a year ago, I had 2 young (20's) girls before this and both quit after a few months. So this time I decided to try Donna, who has been there the longest...

Kathy,
I am so glad you had such a great trip! And you really pretty much maintained, which is just fabulous!

Betty Jo,
Good luck with the realtor meeting on Friday...I hope he comes in well prepared, with solid information for you.

Barbara, Jo, and Mary,
It's so good to have you here! and I don't have anything to add to the other comments to you, they were all well stated and I agree! (So I guess I'm running out of words!)

have a good day, talk to you soon...by the way, I am getting in all the walking I wanted to! But my weight seems up a little, I'll know tomorrow for sure...

Good Morning Ladies,
I ended up cooking all day yesterday and brought a couple of simple hot dishes over to my friends husband and I also made a huge kettle of chicken dumpling soup. Made enough to send some over to the kids that live close enough. Today I will be baking and will also make extra for friends hubby and the kids. I really do get carried away when I start baking!!!

Betty Jo - Hope none of the nasty weather hit you yesterday - not sure which part of Kansas you are in! I am not a great one for shopping - for the most part I do most of my shopping on line and now that I know how the sizes run at "The Avenue" I know what will fit me.

Hope everyone has a great day and will check in again tomorrow.

Hello Everyone:

It's gloomy outside today. We are supposed to have storms and rain all week. This has really been a strange year for weather.

Hi Kathy:
I don't envy you any. I hate cooking and baking at the same time. I like to taste my cooking a little too much. I cook Thanksgiving dinner at my house for our family, so I chew gum. It keeps me from putting things in my mouth. I have a wedding to go to at the end of the month, so that could be a bit of a food challange. I'll just have a small piece of cake and be done with it and maybe something to drink.

Arlonne:
The realtor will be here on Friday morning. He's a licensed appraiser so he should be right on the money or pretty close. He did give us a little bit of an idea of where the appraisal would fall. Housed in our area are currently selling for $100 per sq. ft. and the land is going for about $1500 per acre. We have a $3700 sq. ft house and a 600 sq ft attached garage. We also have 80 acres. That's $120,000 for land and $430,000 for the house. That's not counting the two metal out buildings. Well see what he comes up with.

Theresa:

How's the weight coming this week? You should be on your third week, right or is this your fourth. It's hard to keep track. Your lose probably won't be as much as the first two weeks, but it will be down if you stay close to program, which is the direction you want to go. I've only been on a plateau where I didn't lose weight once since I've been on Jenny Craig. I guess I can probably expect more now that I'm half way. My counselor said some people just crash right on through and keep losing steadily and other plateau at times. I'm hoping I'm not going to plateau a whole lot.

Jo, Barbara and Mary
Love to hear from you three on how your weight loss is going too. Just for the record, I haven't lost anything this week, but I've still got a couple of days before weighin. What are your challanges? Tell us about your successes too. It's very important, I think, for staying on program.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Ladies,
I didn't get my baking done yesterday - hubby has a nasty cold and very congested and he didn't want the oven going and heating up the house. So hopefully I will get at it today. The weather is beautiful today - sun shining and supposed to hit around 60. Really great to see the sun after all the dreary weather we had lately. We had snow here last Saturday while I was in Minnesota - nothing that stayed on the ground but it was that cold!! Glad I missed it!

How has everyone been doing? Haven't heard from some of you for awhile! Wish you all a great week.

Good Morning, All,

To whomever asked about my knee, it's doing very well. I drive everywhere; my longest trip so far was a three-hour drive to visit friends in Virginia. It was easier than before the surgery because of the absence of pain. I'm still in outpatient PT but hope that will end next week.

As for widows and widowers buying JC food for nutritional purposes, I think it's a good idea if they can afford it. I live in a low-income, senior apartment building, which also has some Section 8 apartments. Many of the residents do not have cars so they could not easily visit JC "centres." And I, for one, don't want to pay for JC shipping costs. With the economy tanking and prices skyrocketing, it's getting difficult for me, and many people here probably are worse off than I am. On the other hand, there is a nearby continuing care community, and those folks are in an entirely different socio-economic class.

My weight loss rate is slowed a little, but last week I lost 1.8 lbs and have 68.8 lbs to go for goal. The PT workout room has mirrors, and that's good because it's a reality check for me to see how far I still have to go.

Best to all,
Mary in Baltimore

Hello Everyone:

Well yesterday with the realtor was very interesting. My husband and I weren't very happy with the market analysis. It really didn't have enough information in it for us to make a decision. So we are going the route we should have gone in the beginning. We are getting a full blown appraisal, which is expensive, but the realtor will provide it for free if he sells the property. So it's going to be another 10 days or so before we make a final decision. But I have a feeling my husband will want to go anyway. So the answer is going to be yes, no matter what. We just have to get the formalities out of the way.

Mary:

I'm so glad your knee is getting better. Hang in there. The pain will eventually get better. I think your 1.8 pound weight loss is acceptable. At our age, anything in the negative is good rolleyes.gif !!

Kathy:

The weather has been so dreary here. Rain, rain, rain and thunderstorms. I really don't like living in Kansas much anymore. I won't miss the allergies, the storms, and the extreme heat in the summer. Good to hear your weather is getting better though. That means the atmosphere is getting a lot more stable for all of us when it warms up in the northern part of the US.

Well ladies, I want to wish all of you a Happy Mother's Day. My husband is taking me out to dinner on Tuesday when my new glasses come in so we will miss the crowd. Hope you have a good one.

Good Morning Ladies,
Not much to report here today - I am off to work shortly but just wanted to check in and wish you all a "Happy Mother's Day".

Betty Jo - Sorry your market analysis wasn't as good as you expected. Hopefully the appraisal will come in with better figures. The weather has really been nasty the past few days but I guess I am thankful that we are only worrying about the below average temps rather that all the storms in the other areas!

Hello Everyone:

Didn't do much for Mother's Day. Stayed home to avoid the crowds. My husband cooked us some chicken on the grill and I added scalloped potatoes and corn. I only had half a cup of the scalloped potatoes and corn. So I stayed within my calorie requirements.

It's beautiful here today. The sky is so blue. Can't believe it. The appraiser is coming today so I guess I better get dressed. Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Belated Mothers Day to all!

I had a fun day yesterday. Wind was blowing like winter storms! Zowee. Had a little light rain too. But today is absolutely gorgeous and cool here! Love it!!
Saturday, I was feeling down. Dont know why... just happens... but nothing serious. That mothers day commercial on tv is the funniest and I can relate: it shows each mother passing out because her son (daughter) calls. They keep colapsing. Dont know what it advertises... but even tho I get a call, it's a token call if you know what I mean. I'd like to hear from them each month let alone thinking each week they'd care to know how ol' mom & dad are doing. So, Saturday I was throwing a pre-rehearsal pity party. LOL. Anyway, yesterday, our 3 sons called. Son #1 was so funny! Him and his wife, grandson, and granddaughter were in their car coming home from eating -- each one has a cell phone (naturally)... so each one called .. my cell phone was beeping with call holding / call speaking / call coming in.... Then within that, they called the house phone too. We were all laughing so hard! haha! It is still funny to me.... because I was there. Hope you get the picture. Son #2 called after 9pm. It's always, IF they have time. But this was a fun conversation. Son #3 called about 8:30am..... courtesy call. If you know what I mean. Get 'er done early. But, I'm over all of that today. Yesterday was fun, we went to eat at Outback Steakhouse and I actually think I did good. Had steamed veggies... not a thing on them! And 3 thin slices of sirloin... yummy. And I only ate the size of a deck of cards. The baked potatoe was good too -- I guess that wasn't a good thing but I nibbled at it.... OK, now you know TMTH. biggrin.gif

And my weight will NOT go down! Today was WI. I lost 1.4 lbs. But only 5 lbs in 6 weeks. I might have gotten help today from a 'fill-in' consultant. She is dropping my calories to 1200. And actually said that if this wasn't my pattern of eating previous to JC, than it might have too much fiber and I get "C'd". (constipated) She said 1200 calories might be enuf because I'm never hungry. She says I might need to feel that hunger pain! Gheez... I wish not..... blink.gif And since the spring garden work is wrapping up to normal process, I need to add an activity. I used to do yoga... so will look at the tapes and start bending and stretching again.

Mary - glad to hear your knees are doing good. Therapy really helps if you get a good therapist! Your weight loss is good.... better than mine.
I rejoined the JC program (Jenny Direct) at the end of March... rough start with MIA consultant... I thought the shipping was atrocious too. Did it for the month of April. Then stopped by the JC Center about 60+ miles from me last week to get the next 2 week menu. With the cost of gas.... I was in the area that day.... BUT---- be careful! I learned A LOT and have returned to JC Direct. That Center was a 'franchise' (not a corporate owned center). Prices were 10% higher than Jenny Direct. AND they charged tax which is short of 10% for us. There was NO Jenny Rewards program to receive my 10% discount for that trip either. UGH. IT was a very loosing proposition (and not my weight!). I returned to Jenny Direct. The shipping runs $80 a month... 2 shipments.... and, I think, the consultants are more knowledgeable.... and I don't use up my precious (LOL) time!!! Check it out on your end.

Betty Jo -- hope the appraiser did a good job. That will also eliminate that cost from a potential buyers closing costs. My son just went thru the same thing.
Sorry that you weren't happy with the realtors estimate. They do try to make their record look good with a low price and a quick turn around for them and their stats!!! We had a realtor like that once and it was so extremely upsetting!!

Kathy -- where do you work? I'm a late comer and curious. You stay busy! And seem to cook quite a bit. You must have willpower. Thats a good thing!

Arlonne -- where are you?

Have a great week everybody! Hope those pounds melt away..... like throughout the night would be good. HaHa!!

Good Morning Ladies,
I worked all weekend so my hubby took me out for Mother's Day supper yesterday. Other than that I stuck to the program l00% this week and am happy to say that at my WI this morning I was down 4.4#!!! Feels really good to be back on track again!!!

Betty Jo - Hope your appraisal went good. Glad you had a nice Mother's day dinner - you made some really good choices!! I'm hoping I can get hubby to do some cooking on the grill this summer - if it ever warms up around here! I just love the taste of food cooked on the grill - and it is even healthier!

Jo - Glad you got to talk to your kids - having them all call at the same time really does sound hilarious!!
I am currently working at a party store - sell beer, alcohol, chips and all the other goodies. Isn't really hard work at all - basically just check people out and help them find things at times. I retired twice since I sold the Bar and Grill I owned in 2001 but I find myself getting bored when I am not working at all. The job I have now is ideal - I basically work 1 or 2 days a week and fill in at times when it works out with what I have going on. If I don't want to work on a weekend I just have to let them know and I'm off . The gal who is managing the store right now is leaving the end of September and they asked me if I was interested in taking over, but I just don't want to be that committed to a job anymore, especially during the summer months. I enjoy my 4-wheeling too much to not be able to go when we have a nice day!!

Arlonne - haven't heard from you for awhile - how is everything going? Hope you had a great Mother's Day!

Mary - Glad to hear the knee is doing good! I haven't had surgery or anything like that but before I started with Jenny mine were really bad. Now that I have some weight off the joints they are doing much better and my hip is doing much better also. I was so afraid I was going to need replacement surgery of some kind but hopefully now I can get by without it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Kathy

Hello Everyone:

Today is a very good day for me. I weighed myself this morning and I had a lose of 4 pounds this week. If I lose 1 more pound next week, I will have made my May 20th challange. Yipee.

I have an interesting theory and I wonder if anyone of you posting here experience what I call a weight loss phenomonem. I noticed during my weight loss journey this time around that I get really sore at times. Mostly in the boob area and the hip area. Sometimes in the arm and leg area too. Now that's nothing new to someone who is exercising I guess, but mostly I just walk or do house chores for my exercise. I live on a farm and there is always something to do in the way of exercise. But here's something I've noticed just recently and I'm wondering if any of you have noticed the same thing. When I get really sore in a certain area, say the boob area for instance, the next day I get up and weigh myself and I will have lost several pounds. Two weeks ago I was really hurting in the hip area and I lost 5 pounds. This week, my boobs were hurting and I lost 4 pounds. So I'm thinking losing weight really hurts. I've never heard that from anyone else, but I'm wondering if we all experience it and just have not made the correlation or we just don't talk about it. I would love to hear from you on this subject.

My July 4th goal will be another 10 pounds off. I hope I can make it. I will be getting pretty close to goal after that challange. My goal is 165.

Kathy:
Girl we are knocking those pounds down, aren't we!!!! I did make great choices on Mother's Day, but we are going to South of the Border on Wednesday. It's very hard to make good choices there. The food is delicious and fattening. I'll have my JC Eating Out guide. I'll use it and take half home. Works everytime.

Jo:
Your family is hilarious. I love what they did. I'm sure you felt special. But don't worry about them not calling too much. I'm sure they love you. It's just hard when you have kids these days. To be a good parent, you have to ever vigilant and they are probably exhausted at the end of the day. I'm glad my son is grown and gone. Do you see them on Thanksgiving or Christmas?

Well ladies. Have a great day. I hope to hear from you again tomorrow.

OK, somebody needs to find Arlonne. I don't remember her saying anything about being away ... but I'm new to you all and cant keep everybody straight.

Betty Jo and Kathy, you are killing me! But, I'm so proud of your weight losses. I was starting to get excited about losing a few pounds this week. I went down 2.5 lbs. -- have to weigh everyday. If I were to only weigh on the WI days and they weren't the 'good' WI days, I'd be totally defeated. This way, I know I've been down and it's just my body bouncing around. I actually hit 226.0 yesterday. Totally elated!!! That is 9 lbs. since April 1st. Not exactly the BIG start that you all had. The funniest thing, I haven't been doing anything the last few days that is as exhausating as the garden work that I was doing. And a few pounds disappeared. Go figure. I setup the dvd player yesterday to do yoga. Oh, how funny!!! I used to do yoga in a class setting. NO way anymore! I cannot even sit with legs crossed on the floor now. And the mirror is there and all's I see is an ol' lady. Sad. But, I can do it in the privacy of my own home just fine.

My neighbor told me about a Dr. Oz (spelling?) that Oprah promotes. And now he has his own show.... I don't know him - don't watch too much TV or Oprah. Anyway, he had 2 truck drivers that were fed a heavy meal (no fruit or veggies) and do little exercise. Cameras were dropped into their stomach's to watch the food digest. One took 26 hours, the other 42 hours to digest that meal. Then they ate fruit and veggies and it dropped the digestion 10-12 hours after eating. I found that interesting. And, he took 4 people with differnt backgrounds to find their 'body aging'. The guy with the 'most fit body' was tested to be aging the fastest. (Looks aern't everything) The lady with lots of facial wrinkles and body was fit was next in line to aging fastest. The doc made their day activity different and added yoga. The lady with the wrinkles started to loose the wrinkles (it was tension) and it slowed down the aging process in the both of them.

Betty Jo - No, I dont see my kids too much. WE escaped from Texas where they all live and moved to TEnn. So, it's just when we can go see them. We went last Christmas and will go down Christmas this year.
That is interesting about your pain vs weight loss. I actually have noticed my boobs hurting... but there's no great weight loss here. Just a different diet. But if you think about it, there could be a corelation.
Ok - when you go out to eat and take half home, when do you eat it? I just let the waiter take it. Just curious.

Kathy - you have great energy levels! 1-2 days work a week is enough work after a certain time in our lives. And I love riding bikes but cant anymore. So, greatly love you ride a 4 wheeler. Speaking of working - I got my notary certificate and want to do home mortgages and other documents that you get called for. You can set your own hours and the pay is pretty good.... nothing compared to the $2 for normal notary stuff.

WEll, I'm going to do P.M. Yoga (before bedtime). Never did that one before. Want to see if it is relaxing.

Hi Jo:

I think 2.5 pounds lost is very respectable. That's usually about what I average. I've lost 50 in 20 weeks. So my average is 2.5 pounds. Everyone loses differently. I never let some elses weight loss effect me negatively. I use it to encourage me and that's all. I still have 35 pounds to lose. I usually make smaller goals so that I don't get discouraged also. I have a couple. I'm just about to dip below 200 pounds. I weigh 201 right now. So I'm working on my short term goal of getting below 200. After that my next short term goal will be 186 pounds. That will get me 3/4 of the way to goal rolleyes.gif !!! It's only 14 pounds. Then my next short term goal will be to get to 180 pounds. After that I will only be 15 pounds from my goal weight. If you had told me I would be there last December, I would have said I don't think so, but JC has really helped me to stay on program. The only thing that is really different is the fact that I'm not doing it alone this time. I'm losing weight with friends. The therapy of doing it with friends really helps.

By the way, I learned about something really helpful from another person I converse with on the message boards. Now that I am more than half-way to goal, I'm doing some cooking for myself. So I'm really interested in the calorie content of things especially if I'm eating out or if I'm trying a recipe from my cookbook and I don't know how many calories it has in it per serving. This site and I'll give you the address (http://caloriecount.about.com) does all that and more. It even grades how healthy your recipe is. I'm very excited about it. Go in and take a look. You might be able to use it later or if you eat out.

I wanted to tell you that I think Arlonne is probably visiting her grand children or on vacation. I remember she said something about going somewhere. I just don't remember when. She should be back pretty soon.

Well, I hope you have a great week and a great weigh in. Take care.

Good Morning Ladies,
Yesterday was a beautiful day here and I spent most of it outside working in my weed-flower beds. I got quite a bit accomplished but not done yet. I would take breaks and sit by my patio table and watch the birds. I've really got lots of pretty ones coming into the feeders this year - Orioles, cardinals, indigo buntings, rose-breasted grosbeaks and mony others. Saw my first hummingbird for the year. I have to work this evening and tomorrow I am headed down to Appleton for a baby shower for my first great-grandchild. I will be staying overnite and hope to vist some of the family while I am down there.

Betty Jo - Congrats on another great loss. You are really rocking! I am doing the spring into summer challange and I am hoping to reach my goal of 215 by then. My next goal will be to hit onderland by my birthday in August, and then hopefully be close to my goal on my one year anniversary with Jenny the end of September. I haven't noticed any different aches in my body - just the normal ones in my back, knees and hip, but they are getting to be less and less frequent! I twisted my knee really good last week when I was out filling my bird feeders and it is still pretty sore. Seems like the walking up and down hills really bothers it a lot.

Jo - congrats on the great weight loss! 2.5# is awesome. I find I tend to have one good week a month and the other weeks I usually just lose a little or just maintain. I've even had a few weeks with a gain lately but that was because of my own doing! I lost quite a bit my first month on Jenny - mostly fluids - and since then I would say I average 1 - 2 # a week which I am quite happy with. I am experimenting with the MOMO's more now and seem to be doing O.K. with them except for ocassionaly when we go out to eat. I am staying away from the fried foods and desserts at least and I have to stay away from the salt! When I have anything salty at all I swear I can gain 2-3# just like that and my hands swell up really bad! The yoga sounds interesting! I think if I got down on the floor with my legs crossed I would be there the rest of my life!!! I'm not very good at doing anything down on the floor - just too dang hard to get up again! I do my sit-ups and leg lifts laying on the bed so I don't have to worry about how I am going to get up again.

Arlonne - Hope everything is going good with you!

Hope everyone has a great day. Hopefully I will have a chance to check in with everyone again tomorrow before I leave.

Hi Everyone:

Well today is a great day. According to the about.com site, I am now considered a moderately overweight person instead of an obese person now Yes!!!! That obese thing really worried me. I don't like that word. Now I can say I'm no longer obese. Also, I measured and I've lost a total of 28.5 inches since I started JC. I'm still a long way from where I want to be though. I've still got to lose 6 inches in my hips, 9 inches in my abdomen, 9 inches in my waist, and 5 inches in my bust. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm in no hurry. Never in a hurry. The longer it takes me to lose it and get in shape the better I'll be at maintaining my weight when I get there biggrin.gif .

Kathy:

Do you realize that you have already almost lost 100 pounds. That's amazing girl. You are my idol. Have you been putting your stats in the JC site. I have been and it gives me my BMI everytime I enter my new weight. I like being able to look at it go down, down, down. rolleyes.gif !!

Do you have any favorite weight loss tips that you want to share? I'd would be interested in knowing exactly what you are doing to lose the weight. There might be something I can incorporate into my lifestyle.

Hi Jo, Arlonne, and Mary. Where are you. We would love to hear from you again.

MimiJo
Good morning, Sexy 60s!!

I'm brand-new - don't even have my food yet. It will arrive on Tuesday, but I'm spending today looking around the Jenny website and getting to know all about it. I'm so happy to have found your board. I'm 61, need to lose about 80 pounds!!!! I'm married (42 years) have two grown kids and 3 beautiful grandkids. I think I've been on every weight-loss program known to man, and have always lost weight - just can't keep it off. I just canNOT bring myself to count points again. My daughter-in-law's mom lost about 50 pounds on Jenny last year and loved it - so here I am. I'm excited, looking forward to getting to know all of you, and to losing this weight, once and for all!!

I see you have another "Jo" here - so I'll be TallJo. I'm 5'10" - or 5'11", depending on who's doing the measuring. LOL

Jo
Jomamad
Wow, 2 Jo's. Yeah, that will be confusing blink.gif because we have quite a few things that are almost alike.
I will be 61 in August. (Hey, Kathy, when is yours in August? MIne is Aug. 11) And we've been married 42 years (43 years on July 10). I need to loose about 80 lbs too - which would put me 155-160 goal. Although I'll be grateful to loose more! That would put me at the high 'normal' for my size range. And I'm 5'9". Our little bit of differnce: we have 3 sons (in 3 years) and 6 grands. I did JC in 1993 and 1994 (4months each year) and back then it was to only loose 20 - 30 lbs. sad.gif Far from that now. I had gotten discouraged because I could not break the 180 plateau. Just hoping and praying that doesn't happen this time. JC does have a wonderful retraining program about food, portion size, and things you can understand. I really do not get the 2starch, 3 protein, 8 water thing. I just want to get to shrink my stomach, weight, and mindset. My nickname is Jomama because so many kids kept trying to crawl into our house when our sons were younger. We actually have 1 'daughter' that we were her legal guardians. We never did the foster children route yet had 2 foster children that crawled in there. They were from foster families that abused them. And then several others that needed a family influence. At school, it was like "Who do you call?"....... Jomama.

Do you do Jenny Direct? or a Jenny Center? I did a Jenny Center in 1993-94 in Texas. Now do the Jenny Direct since we moved to Tenn. and the 'local center' is 120+ miles RT from here. I actually tried that center one time. Went back to 'Direct".

Betty Jo -- WAY TO GO, Girlfriend!!! Moderate Weight..... I can only imagine! And those measurements... yup, I can only imagine. Funny thing.... when the consultant sent me a measurement form.,.... because I never got one originally..... I told her at 60 yrs old, I don't worry about that bikini anymore. Altho, it sounds like you might throw that theory out the window! Good thing!!

Kathy -- your loss is fantastic!!! What more can I say. Do you find that you have more energy? Or is it still hit the ball and drag the body to do all of that weeding? I have been gardening and it seems like such a challenge to get motivated. Nothing like it used to be when I was busting to get outside to do the gardening..... several pounds ago.

Where's Barb and Mary? And hope Arlonne has lots of good stories when she returns.

JO (as in JOmama)
MimiJo
Jomama - we sure do have a lot in common! For one thing, I think we're the last two females in the world who have been married for 42 years!! laugh.gif

I love that you "foster" children, even if unofficially. I live next door in NC - and I work for NC Guardian ad Litem. We are court advocates for children who are in State custody because of abuse or neglect - so I really REALLY appreciate good foster families, and a pox on the others!

I will be doing Jenny Direct - and I've got a lot of questions. 1) Do I have to order all the food they suggest, or can I just order lunches and dinners and do my own lo-cal cereal for breakfast and my own snacks? It's pretty pricey, and I can see I'm going to be looking for some cost savers before too many months. 2) Do you all like the hot breakfasts (Sunrise sandwich, etc.) or the cereals better? This first time out, I just let them send me whatever they wanted (they said they send the optimum menu for weight loss the first time around). It all sounds pretty good, but by looking at the food lists I think I would like some other things better.

Any tips y'all can give me will be appreciated!!

Hi TallJo:

Welcome to JC. Tips? Oh wow. Do we have tips on this thread. But first I've got to tell you that we are very similiar too. I'm 61, been married for 30 years (you got me beat there), 5'8" tall, and I had 85 pounds to lose when I started in December of 2007. I've lost 50 pounds in 20 weeks. I'm very impressed with the JC program. I've never done this well on any other program. But one thing is very different for me this time. Mindset!! I'm tired of being overweight. And I'm tired of being tired of being overweight. In general I'm sick of dieting. So this time, I looked for a program that I thought I could live with for life. I love sweets and when I saw the JC commercials on TV, I couldn't believe that I could have my sweets and still lose weight. But I've learned that it is possible. I really think that was a lot of why I couldn't maintain. Because I always felt deprived if I couldn't have certain things and then I would binge. Consequently, I was on the yo-yo program rolleyes.gif most of my life. Now I can see that I can live with JC and the way I'm eating. So I know this is for a lifetime instead of just to lose weight and regain it. And I feel so empowered. I just wish I would have found JC years ago.

Here's some things I've learned along the way. I've picked them up off the message boards. I'm usually in here just about every day.

1. Make small goals and reward yourself with non-food items. I made 10 pound goals.

2. Pay close attention to the portions JC puts in their meals. Burn them in your memory and any time you eat meals on your own replicate those portion sizes.

3. Come into the chat room and message boards every day. It keeps me focused and hopefully it will do the same for you.

4. Eat lots of veggies and drink lots of water. I was hungry the first two weeks, but eventually the hunger went away. I'm never hungry anymore. Also, exercise will speed up your weight loss. I do natural exercise in the form of gardening, cleaning, etc. I also take walks with my dogs. They love it and it helps me. But, I've never been very good at jumping on a machine and just exercise. My exercise has to have a purpose to make me happy.

5. And finally, don't let negative thoughts invade your mind. When I first started JC, I almost quit because I had myself convinced I could do this program on my own . Thank goodness I didn't do that because I've never been able to do a program on my own ever. But those are the types of thoughts that will invade your mind. So, anytime a negative thought enters my mind now, I just say to myself, I'm on this program for life so there is no hurry to get to where I want to be. It's worked great. I've got 35 pounds to go, but I'm not worried about when I am going to get there because I'm not going off JC. I'm more than half way to goal, so I get to cook Meals on My Own JC style. But don't start doing that until you get at least half way to goal. You need to learn portion sizes and get your bad eating habits under control and eating JC's food will help you to do that.

Well, TallJo, I hope some of these things help you and I wish you luck at your first weigh in. Come back often and let us know how you are doing.

Very good points from BettyJO. Funny how many "Jo's" there are here.

I like to do natural exercise... because that is part of my life. A beautiful yard, a clean house, and happy dogs! I used to do yoga in a class structure ... now, I started looking at a few dvd's that I have to do it in the privacy of my own home. Talk about laugh! I cannot even sit on my own tail bones now. What happened? Please don't answer that. Actually, I left the class structure because the fat started getting in the way of my flexible body. I let fat control me! And now we are in a battle... I will win!

Also -- take heed on doing food control on your own..... don't! You sound like me. I h-a-t-e the shipping charges. If you do your menu with Jenny Direct for the month (rather than 2 weeks), shipping is better. Do we all pay the same? I pay $80 per month. They ship 2 x's per month tho (and that's a good thing!). I started my first relationship with JC in 1993. Ate properly but could not break past 180lbs. Got discouraged. BUT, I did learn so much! IN those days, I went to the local center (another state, a large city) and we could attend 'classes' and buy tapes and stuff. Then in 1994 I returned. Renewed mindset. But tried to cook too fast on my own and put my own breakfast together. Even lunches. Because I knew the Jenny way. Not. I just upped and left with the same plateau 180 lbs. This time, JC Direct with Jenny Rewards Program (you get discounts as you go through the weeks). Did you join that program for $99? Well, after the first month, I decided to drive 60+ miles (120+ miles RT) to the 'local' Jenny Craif Center! haha! Foolish me. They are a franchise. I paid 10% more and 10% tax (our tax rate is 9.75%). They do not do the Rewards Program.... I quickly returned to Jenny Direct. BTW, there are Jenny Centers that are franchise owned and corporate owned. Franchise centers set their own rules.

I'm a little jealous - optimum menu for weight loss the first time around - I did not get on that rapid start and still struggle. I have only loss 7 lbs in 7 weeks. I get very constipated!!! Did I say VERY? And you'd think veggies and fruit would do the trick. I've found out that the heavier I exercise by doing yard work, the less I lose. My girlfriend does Jenny (in the large state in a large city) and they said I needed to drink more water to flush out the water retension in the muscle from gardening. No big result yet.

This list "Over 60's" has many good friends that have made it to goals that you and I are still obtaining. So, my advice is to stick with the Direct program..... You actually pay the same shipping no matter how much food you purchase. So, if you go to your local store and buy lo-cal foods, you dont save a big amount. I do not get the syrups or the salad dressings from Jenny ..... minor items. And I don't care for their stuffed sandwiches (B or L). And there are a few items that I love and schedule more in my plan. After this month - a good start - you can modify next month's plan to remove the yukkies and add the goodies. They work with you great!

AND ONE more thing !!!! IF your JC Consultant is not your type, request another consultant!!!! They have some fabulous consultants and I had to change from one that should not have her job, to a star coach for me. Same story for several!

Good Luck!!! biggrin.gif

Howdy from another newcomer to Jenny Craig. I just started on Thursday, and so far it is not bad food.

Just a bit about myself, I am 66, and just celebrated our 48th year of marriage! Some people probably think it is weird we have been together this long! laugh.gif

I was reading some of the posts, and I am like others, a bit too far to go with the meetings, so I do the Jenny Craig Direct myself. It is not too cheap, DH let me know about that! The shipping for the whole month being the $80 was not explained when I joined, and I thought it was for the one time shipping, that was a shocker! Then when I talked to some one at Jenny Craig they explained the bill to me. I am afraid I did not have a counselor call until after I had signed on.

I was wondering about changing conselors, the one that called had to cut me off asking questions, she "had other calls to make" I hope it was a one time thing, otherwise I may have to get a new one.

I am half way between Austin and San Antonio Texas, so any one in the area let me know, would love to chat.

Do any of you have medical problems, that make some of the plan hard to do? I do have a heart condition, and I cannot do exercise, but walking the Dr. said was good for me. My main problem is eating at the times they think you eat. I am a caregiver to our 43 year old son who became a "low Level Quadrapalegic" at the age of 19. He is able to move his arms and above his shoulders, but not his hands. I am his hands and feet, so I do have to get him dressed, up and in his wheelchair each morning and the reverse each night.

Our sleeping arrangements make it a late night, DH and I rarely get to bed before midnight, and I don't get up until 9 the next day. The son has a medical program that we do every 3red night and that takes him and I till 4-5 AM the next morning. I usually end up eating Breakfast at lunch time. I am trying to schedule it so I get either the lunch or dinner at a later time at night so I at least get all three meals.

I am yakking too much maybe, and not about the diet plan! Sorry. I just wanted to let you know I think I will like this forum and plan on visiting every day or more.
MimiJo
It's really fun getting to know all of you - you sound just like my friends right here at home!!

Nobody told me about the $80 shipping. When I asked how much the shipping is, she just said "it's built into the cost of the food". After I signed up, though, I did call a Centre (closest one about an hour from me) and asked about the price difference if I switched to a Centre and came to pick up my own food every two weeks. According to her, it would only be about $10-15/month difference, because they do taxes and their cost is a little higher. I figure with gas at its current price - plus the convenience of delivery right to my door - I'll just stick with Jenny Direct.

I did the Rewards thing - $399, then you get the discounts on food. Renewable each year for $39, forever I guess. I am DETERMINED this time to stick with it, I'm sick sick sick of being fat.

I'll check in with y'all when I can, but don't look for me much except on Wednesday and weekends. The other four weekdays don't allow much computer time, and I can't get on "forbidden websites" from work. smile.gif

Good Morning Everyone!
Wow - gone a couple of day and look at all the activity here! Welcome Tall Jo and Jaftex! This is an awesome program and very easy to follow. My suggestion would be to try all the foods and after that you can personalize your menu. Everyone likes different things so after you have tried the different foods you can then just order the items you like. There are a few items I don't care for at all and do not get but I try to order a large variety just so I don't get sick of eating the same old thing all the time. Whether you are doing Jenny Direct or going to a center make sure you get a counsellor you like. I makes all the difference in the world if you have someone you like talking to. If you don't click with the one you have ask for a different one. If you have the rewards program the food does get much more reasonable after you start getting the discounts. Also, I buy my own syrup, dressings, cereal and many of the snacks on my own. And now that I made my halfway goal I do meals on my own so I am only getting one food shipment a month and that cuts down on the shipping costs.
Jeannine - Hope that is correct! When I started I had very high blood pressure and had to get my doctors permission to do this program. Since then I am down to about 1/4 meds I was taking when I started. Walking is always good exercise and swimming is also good if your doctor ok's it for you. I actually don't get in a lot of excersizing but am getting a little better at it now that I have some of the weight off.
Jo- I still have to take my breaks when I am out gardening. My back and knees can still just take so much at a time but I am finding I can do a lot more this year than I could a year ago! I have a lot more energy but the joints still start aching after so much and then it is time to take a break!
Tall Jo - I too have tried just about every weight loss program available and I find this the best ever! Right now I am at the lowest I have been since back in my high school days. I have lost a little on other programs only to get sick of the food and frustrated and would end up putting it all back on plus! The thing I like about this program is that you can eat just about anything - just in moderation - and if I have a day when I am off program I have no problem getting back on program cause I actually like the food!
Betty Jo - I just checked out my stats and I guess I didn't even realize I was almost l00# down from my heaviest! As of right now I have lost 64# since I started with Jenny last September - the rest I had lost about 3 years before that when I was doing Atkins. I had actually lost about 50# at that time but ended up putting 20# back on again after I quit. I had gotten off program during the Christmas holidays that year and just couldn't make myself follow that program again. This program is so much easier to follow and so much better for a person health-wise! I just can't express how much I like this lifestyle! Like you, I don't care how long it takes to get to goal right now. As long as I can keep going down little by little I will be prefectly happy. When I do have a week with a gain or no loss I just make sure I follow the program l00% the following week and I get back on track before I end up gaining to much and get to the point where I want to give up. I allow myself a couple of treats when I am away from home and traveling - cappuccino's are a big downfall for me - glad we don't have any of those fancy coffee places around here!!
Arlonne - how are things going with you? Hope to hear from you soon!

Hope everyone has a great day and a good WI this week. I have my WI tomorrow morning so will check in then and let you know how good or bad I did over the weekend.

Hello Everyone:

Welcome to all the new people on this thread. I'm amazed at all the Jo's on here too. I rarely go by Jo. Most people either call me Betty Jo or Betty and when I was still working I went by the initials BJ. For some reason people have a very hard time remembering my name. I usually get called Mary Jo or Bobby Jo or something different from my real name. So actually I've learned to answer to most anything, even hey you!!! rolleyes.gif

Hi MimiJo:

I wanted to pass on my experience with shipping too. I'm on Jenny Direct because the closest center is about 100 miles from me. I thought the shipping was hefty too, but when you consider how much gas is these days it's really not that bad. I really feel for people who have to commute back and forth to work these days. But the thing I wanted to pass on is that you can order once a month too if you have the room to store the food. That saves a bunch of money too. I joined rewards also and that saves too. But I'm more than half way to goal, so I'm eating less JC and more real food. I get JC's snacks and desserts because you can't get them in the stores and there are certain dinners and lunches I still get for the convenience.

You have a great attitude about losing weight. I just want to learn how to eat healthy so I don't get sick or have a heart attack from being overweight. I have no grandios ideas about how great I'm going to look. I do like the idea of being able to purchase clothes that look good on me. And if you slip up, just get right back on JC. This program is very forgiving.

Hi Jaf:

Walking is a great exercise. I love natural exercise too and it sounds like with your job you get quite a bit. When I first started on JC I couldn't even touch my toes, it was hard for me to go up and down steps (actually I'm still having a problem with that), and I was constantly out of breath. I couldn't do much of anything actually. I've lost 50 pounds so now I'm doing a lot better. I can run up stairs, I can bend over and get anything off the ground now, and I'm never out of breath. I do seem to have a problem with going down stairs. I'm not sure whether it's habit or whether it's my knee. I super-extended my right knee about 6 years ago and it's never been the same. It doesn't feel stable yet. I'm still going down one step at a time. Maybe in time, I'll be able to do that too. We'll see.

Jaf, it really doesn't matter when you eat your JC meals as long as you eat everything on their menu. And get rid of that counselor. How rude!!! They have lots of good counselors. Sounds like she scheduled her calls to close together.

Hi Jomama:

Well, we really have something in common. We love dogs and housework rolleyes.gif !! I love a clean house too and I love for my gardens to sing to me. But I don't know about the bikini thing. This old body woundn't want to go there anymore laugh.gif , if you know what I mean.

Hi Kathy:

Kathy, you've got a great attitude. Keep up the good work. I love that we can all keep each other on program. I will see my sister for the first time this weekend. The last time she saw me was at Thankgiving 2007. I started JC in December 2007, so she's in for a real shock. We always meet at my mother and father's grave each year on Memorial Day weekend. I will miss that when I go to Alaska. This may be my last year at the grave site. Then, the following weekend, her son is getting married. I don't know whether I'm going to it or not. My husband does not want to go and I don't want to go alone. I'd have to drive 2 hours all by myself to get there and the back. Doesn't sound like fun to me.

Well, guess I better go. I have a hair appointment this morning.

Thanks for the welcome Betty Jo. I am going to give the counselor one more chance, if she is still rushing I will ask for a new one. With no one else to talk with about the diet, I need time to talk with the counselor.
I like reading these forums, I am a computer addict, and forums are a good way to get to know folks.

I have lost 4 pounds, but I am always told that is what everyone does on a diet, so I hope this continues.

Don't know if this is where to ask a question, but going to anyway. When I ordered and joined I was told the menu I picked was for the whole month, but would be shipped in 2 week increments. Can you change the menu after you have picked out the whole month? I had one food I did not care for and would like to drop it off the menu. If not I can eat it, but not a food I want to look forward to like some of the others.
I am a big oriental food person, and DH hates it! so it is really good that Jenny Craig has so many oriental dishes.

I had a 0 calories pop I liked and had been drinking since on the diet, well for some unknown reason I actually read the ingredients label. It has GrapeFruit!!! My heart medication has a lablel warning "No Grapefruit when on this medication!" Man that messed me up, had to find something else to drink. I am a pop drinker, so that drink water trick does not work for me, I have cravings for the pop.

Hi Jeannine:

Giving your counselor another chance is probably a good idea, but if she doesn't do her job after that, I'd ask for someone else. She may have too many clients. Actually, I don't really depend on the counselors for much support. I've learned most of the things I know about JC program from the message boards. The ladies on the message boards are usually are very helpful, accurate, and you get an answer almost immediately (at least within one day). When you are new, you need the answer to lots of questions and personally I didn't want to wait for a week to get my answers. I wanted the answers ASAP rolleyes.gif . Am I spoiled or what?

I've been on JC for 21 weeks now and I've lost 50 pounds. That's 2.38 pounds per week. You can expect the same weight loss if you stay on the JC program and exercise. I like natural exercise or walking with my dogs. That's all I've done and I've lost consistently every week.

Yes, you can change your menu up the next time you order. Jenny Craig creates your first months order for you and usually it's shelf stable foods. Personally, I like the frozen foods better. So the next time I ordered frozen foods and eliminated the things I did not like from the menu. You are not locked into anything. Find the foods you like and stick with them. You will be much happier and will be able to stay on program much easier. I love JC oriental foods. They are very good. Be sure to eat lots of veggies and eat your fruits too. They will help you stay satisfied.

I drink Crystal Lite Lemonade. It's allowed on the JC program and it's very good. If you don't like lemonade, they have lots of flavors. I'm sure there is something there you could have with your medication.

I hope I answered your questions. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I lovel to help new people.

Hi there Ladies,
Didn't get on the boards yesterday - my computer wasn't letting me on line for some reason! I gained .2# at my WI yesterday and I am satisfied with that considering my weekend off program!! This week is turning out more hectic than I was figuring on - friends are visiting from Colorado and we got together for supper and playing canasta last nite and tonite we are eating and playing here. I am making Lasagna, garlic bread and a 7-layer salad for supper, which shouldn't be too bad as long as I watch my portions. We all like watching American Idol so we will be watching the finale tonite to see who wins! Tomorrow we will be going to one of the local casinos and gamble for the day and then I have to work over the weekend.

Jeannine - If you haven't recieved the second shipment for the month I believe you can change things one time with no charge. That's what I was told anyhow. Then every month you can order whatever you want for the entire month. Some people apparantly order the same things every month but I change my order every month just to have a larger variety. Plus, they add new items every now and then so I usually try them and omit something from the previous month's order. There is no charge for changing your order from month to month but If you want to change something after you place that order they apparently do apply a charge so make sure your place an order for things you know you like. The new items I'll usually order 1 or 2 of and if I like them I will order more the next month or delete it if I don't care for it.

Betty Jo - I'm sure your sister will be truly amazed when she sees you this weekend! Last weekend I say my Mom and sisters the first time since I started with Jenny and they were all truly surprized! They all wanted to know how I did it cause they know I've tried just about everything out there. I told them all I am doing Jenny and finally found a life style I can live with. A couple of my sisters are a little heavy now that they are getting older but none of them have ever had the problem with weight that I do.
Sounds like your hubby doesn't like either the traveling or visiting any more that mine does! I used to just stay home if he didn't want to go visiting for the birthdays etc., but now if I want to go I just go by myself. The kids all seem to be growing up so fast and I want to be able to spend time with them when I am able. Right now hubby is talking about taking a trip to Arizona and the Grand Canyon this fall which I would really like to do but I am not getting my hopes up too high yet. When the time get closer he often find excuses to not go so I'll just wait and see what happens!

Arlonne - Miss you! What's going on with you girl? Check in and let us know what you have been up to. Hope you're all doing O.K.

Well, have to get back to my cooking! Hope you all have a great day!

OK - another day, another pound...... well, 2.4 lbs. I just really don't get it -- tomorrow, I'll be back up. That's the way my body goes. I've been reading other columns and my weight has finally hit 10 lbs for the 8 weeks that I've returned to JC (Direct). Kinda' slow progress compared to everyone else. Oh, well........... as long as it stays away.

Hey, also just noticed a few things... duh.....
Jeanine - I lived in Round Rock Tx and Pflugerville for almost 30 years. We were almost neighbors. Now, live in Tennessee - the last (almost) 5 years. Love it here! Austin wasn't Austin anymore.... kept telling hubby that I wanted 4 seasons, a light winter, good dirt, and a Whole Foods. Well, Whole Foods finally got to TN..... but it did build a store in Nashville and bought out another organic food store in Nashville and Memphis. Nashville is 2 hours from me so I don't think I'll consider that I got that one. LOL. And Memphis is 320 miles away. Good having you here!

And, I noticed Teresa posted 2x's on this column at the beginning of "May!!!" ...... Teresa! WE might know each other. We lived in Round Rock for 16 years. Population was 6000+. Everybody seemed to know each other. Now? it's over 40,000 isn't it?

Ok - ladies, got to go to bed. Tomorrow is another pound. Good luck to you all!

Hello Ladies:

This weather is driving me nuts. We've had storm after storm here. I actually got up early today because the storm was so wild. So here I am at 6 a.m. in the morning on the JC site. I ate breakfast at 4 a.m. --prunes and a muffin. Snack time is a long way off laugh.gif !!!

Kathy:
Aren't we lucky that we can eat and then get back on program and not gain much weight? It's really quite simple huh? How come I didn't figure that out until I was 60 years old wink.gif ? But anyway, all kidding aside, I love that aspect of JC? We can enjoy ourselves on the holidays without worrying. I will go to Abilene later this morning, meet my sister at my parents' grave, and then after we decorate the graves, we always go to dinner. The weather is supposed to be better today. I hope it is because it's not going to be much fun decorating graves in the rain.

I swear I think my husband is getting to be more of a hermit every day. He's a real home body. He has promised me that when we move back to Alaska that we will do some travelling. I want to go to the Grand Canyon too. I've never been there. I also would like to go to Costa Rica. From there, I'm not sure, but I think may Australia and Africa. Those two are very expensive I'm sure, so we might not ever get there. I really get uneasy when I think of leaving the country. I know people do it all the time, but with everything that is going on in the world, it makes me a little nervous.

Jo:

Congrats on the 2.4 pounds you lost. Your overall lose really is not that bad. It may seem slow, but actually the one pound per week is much better for you than losing as fast as we have been. I'm ready for it to slow down a bit. You've probably heard me talking about how saggy my skin is getting. I need some time to firm up a little before losing more. And the other thing too Jo. . . the longer it takes you to get to goal, the easier it will be to maintain because you are changing habits. I had a bunch of bad habits to break and sometimes I still want to revert back to them. But I keep saying nooooooo, that's not healthy. I have a feeling it takes more than 30 days to break old habits. I think it takes more like a year or so. So just relax and enjoy that you aren't gaining. That's what I do.

Well ladies, that's all the news for now. Oh, one other thing. Have any of you ordered the Red, White and Blue cheesecake yet. I hear it's delicious. So I sounds like I need to put in an order.

I'm 53 and just joined the Jenny Direct program last week, my first weigh in is later this afternoon and
I have lost 12.6 pounds my first week! I'm morbidly obese, as I started at 370.7, today 358.1
It took me years to gain, and I expect it will take well over a year to get to my goal of 184.0 pounds.
I have tried every diet under the sun, and went to a hospital weight loss out patient center, and was
ready to go to bypass surgery, but decided, it's not for me. As we see with Carnie Wilson, and many others,
gaining weight back is not only possible, but probable. I have decided to address those issues which have been eating at me, and be kind to myself and my body by eating healthfully and doing this for myself. The food thus far is excellent. I need to learn more about volumizing my entrees and get more out of the free veggies.
My saving grace is the afternoon snack of a fat free ball park hot dog, a Roman Meal Bun, Catchup and Relish,
which was suggested by my consultant.

Speaking of consultants, she is very sweet, but has made errors every step of the way with errors in my foods
ordered, not calling as scheduled, etc. I just kept after her and we've straightend things out thus far. You have to be pro-active. We are paying a small fortune to do this and we deserve the services we are paying for.

I appreciate the blogs and comments and find the Ask the Dietitian section very helpful.

Wishing all of you a nice long weekend, and let's all hope for good weather for the Indy 500!

Hi Heather:

Congrats on your fabulous weight loss and welcome to our thread. We have a bunch of nice ladies on this thread that are always ready to help and support you in any way they can. You definitely made the right decision Heather. I considered by-pass surgery too, but decided to do Jenny first. I couldn't believe I could actually have dessert and still lose weight. But I'm living proof Jenny Craig works. I've lost 50 pounds since December 2007.

All my life I've been heavy and I love sweets. I could never have sweets of course because I was over weight and when I'd go on a diet for any lenghth of time, I would binge because I felt deprived and then I'd quit the diet. Since I've been on JC, I have not binged once because I've been able to have dessert every night. I feel like JC is something I can stay with for life and I don't plan on going off. Because I joined JC's Rewards program, I pay less for my food and I can come back to JC at any time I want to tune up if I should gain weight. So I feel I'm in a win, win situation. I think you will really love it. It sounds like you are sooooooooo ready and that's what it takes. I promise you that if you stay true to the program, you will lose weight. I've averaged about 2.5 pounds per week so far and really Heather you don't want to lose the weight much faster than that because you will get too flabbly. You've got to give your body time to firm up as you lose the weight. My consultant told me that my weight loss would slow down a bit after I hit half way. I'm glad because I was really starting to sag.

I saw my sister for the first time since December 2007 today. She was so surprised to see how much better I looked. And I can tell you that you will feel so much better too. I couldn't even touch my toes when I first started. I had to go up and down stairs one step at a time. And I couldn't even do aerobics because it was too hard on my feet and body. But I can do all those things now. It's a great feeling and I didn't even think I could do it in the beginning. So, Heather, I want to inspire you to try. I have a few tips I always share with new people. I hope they help you. I learned most of them on the message boards. Here they are:

1. Make small goals and reward yourself with non-food items. I make 10 pound or less goals. Here's an example of my latest goals. I just reached 200 pounds last week. My small goal is to lose one pound and get below 200. My next goal is to lose 10 pounds and get to 190 pounds. The next goal is to get to 186 pounds, which is 3/4 of the way to my goal weight. Each time I reach one of those goals, I reward myself with something.

2. Pay close attention to the portions JC puts in their meals. Burn them in your memory and any time you eat meals on your own, replicate those portion sizes.

3. Come into the chat room and message boards every day. It keeps me focused and hopefully it will do the same for you.

4. And finally, don't let negative thoughts invade your mind. When I first started JC, I almost quit because I had myself convinced I could do this program on my own. I was worried about the expense. Thank goodness I didn't listen to those negative thoughts or I wouldn't be where I am today. Besides I've never been able to do a program on my own. Who was I kidding? But those are the types of thoughts that will invade your mind. Anytime a negative thought enters your mind, just say to your self, "This time it's for a life time. I'm not going off JC because this is my last chance to do it right".

Good luck Heather. I hope some of these tips help you as much as they have helped me. Like I said they came from other people just like you and me and JC worked for them too.

Hi everyone!
I am still alive, just got myself locked out of the boards for awhile somehow, and just this evening managed to get a new password that worked. Weird. dry.gif

Now, having said that, I leave on vacation this Thursday for my 3 week 40th anniversary trip! I am so excited, and we are just counting the days down now!

I am not going to try to diet while I'm there, just be careful about what I'm eating...

While I was locked out, I made 2 more visits down to the new grandson; one on my own...Betty Jo, if you want to go to the wedding; do it. I drove one of the trips myself, and I am so glad I went. Sometimes our husbands can be "putzes"...is that a word?...and just don't want to do the family thing again! I think women are generally more socially inclined...what do you think?

Kathy, thanks for not forgetting me! It sure got frustrating! I was in the process of writing a letter to the email address they sent me at the bottom of the new login password, when another email came with another new password! The only thing I could think of is I must have hit the button 2 times...I never can figure out why my login just quits working periodically!

I see a lot of new names, wonderful! we are getting to be a much larger group, and that makes for so much more fun!

I did have an "ick" last week. The doc did a punch biopsy on my right hand right above the knuckle of my thumb. I had a small nick that didn't heal right, and built up a big lump over the coarse of 2 months. So I go on Wednesday to get the results.... I've had a biopsy done on my arm before years ago; this one was much easier and less invasive.

talk to you all soon!

Good Morning Ladies,

Welcome Heather - this program is awesome and I am happy to say that I have now made it to my lowest weight since I was in high school thanks to Jenny providing a program that is very easy to live with. I have days when I was totally off program - but still watched my portion sizes - and did gain some weight but I have no problem getting right back on program and getting it back off again. I really love the food and I save my snack for the evening as my reward for staying on the program for the day. I have now lost 64# since the end of last September and I know I will eventually reach my goal on this program and I WILL keep it off this time. Even when I reach goal I will probably still keep Jenny meals on hand just cause they are so handy to have around.

Arlonne - great to hear from you again!! I was just looking at your stats and we weigh about the same right now - I am at 223.6 right now but have just gotten into size 18-20. But I am only 5'5" so I will have more to go before I can fit into a smaller size. I am anxious to get into a size 15-16 so I can buy regular size clothes and not have to shop in the Queen sizes anymore!! Where do you plan on going for your vacation? Hope you have a great time and don't worry too much about staying l00% on program. Just watch your portion sizes and try to stay away from the deep fried foods and I am sure you will do fine! Even if you gain a couple of pounds I'd dare to bet that when you get back and get back on program for a week you will have a good loss. I have found that is what tends to go with me. It's like your body gets a jump start again when you start eating the right foods again after being off program a little. I'm not saying to go and pig out and eat everything and anything - but have some of the things you are missing and be sensible about the portions!

Betty Jo - Sorry to hear about all the bad weather in your area!! Looks like some of it is heading out way but looks like the worst of it won't get this far north. I have never traveled out of the states either and I'm a little leary about it. I've heard Austraila is a great place to visit but you have to be very careful about where you stay when you are there. From what I have heard the crime and drugs are very bad in some parts - not sure how true that is - just things I heard ! That is one place I would like to visit too - maybe some day!!! Did you every hear from your appraiser yet on your house and property? Hope he (or she) had something encouraging!!

Jo - congrats on the good loss! You are doing great! The last couple of months I have probably averaging about 5# for the month - but I am fine with that. At least it is coming off and my body seems to be adjusting - no sagging skin so far!! But I have a way to go yet to reach goal so we'll see what happens. I am thinking about getting an ab-lounger to tighen up that area as that is my biggest problem area.

My week with the friends from Colorado didn't turn out the was it was planned. One of the gals fell and broke one of her ankles and sprained the other so we ended up spending two days at the doctors. Didn't get to do the things we had planned on but at least she got away without having to have surgery so that was a good thing. She has a walking cast on her left foot and an air brace on her right foot. I'm sure it will be a long drive for them getting back home!

Hope everyone has a great day and will hopefully check in again tomorrow!
Kathy
