I am almost at the end of my third week and my only complaint is that the gas and bloating I am having is unbearable. After this week I am stopping this diet. I can't take it. If I were married my husband would be divorcing me. I can't concentrate at work because I am constantly running outside to pass gas, that stinks to high heaven. This goes on through the whole evening and I am having trouble falling asleep from it. Anyone else having this problem? please let me know!!

I am also experiencing gas, but the problem may be the milk. If you are drinking regular switch to Lactose Free and if that does not work, try Gas x - that will cure the problem

Flower - your body may still be adjusting, I wouldn't give up on the diet. Try gas-x first. Were you eating all your fruits and veggies before JC? If not, that's probably it. Healthy food is usually gassy.

And, as previous poster said, you could also be lactose intolerant.

I found with all the vegetables I am eating and extra fiber the same thing is happening. What worked for me was taking beano before each meal..it really works. No more gas pains or bloating. Please don't quit the diet just yet, try that. I think you will find you are much happier. Just remember, I am speaking from experience, you must take the beano BEFORE your first bite for it to work. I started J C on April 3rd and my first week I lost 6.2 pounds..Got alot more to go though, but I do have more energy already. Good luck! biggrin.gif

I found that I was incredibly gassy when they brought out the new peanut butter anytime bars. I stick to the cookies and cream now and I have been fine since.

Hi all -

Thank you for the beano tip...I think this will solve the problem. I am noticing this because I have been consuming more vegetables, and one of my favorites is broccoli. From what I understand, broccoli is one of the top gas producers, so I will experiment with the beano and NOT give up my new love for veggies and JC!!! smile.gif

Hi,
I too have had that problem with another program.
They told me I should cook more of my veggies instead of raw.

Good luck.

So many healthy foods are gassy...let me just second what has been written...if you are eating alot of raw veggies and you were not used to raw salads and such....definately take BEANO...and cook as many veggies as possible, eat them in soups...and if milk products are new to you take Lactaid before eating. I have eaten veggies for many years and beans and soy products cause gas and eggs...and my body has never adjusted. Beano and lactaid are life savers and if Gas X does not help try Phasyme which is a little stronger. I feel your pain!!!!!

blink.gif Well, this may be TMI, but I'm also having diarrhea. I'm using GasX and have never been lactose intolerant. Is anyone else having this problem as well. And, if so, any suggestions?

Yes, diaherra can be caused by time of the month but have you had it before the Jenny diet? Again take a look at how your diet has changed...from the vegetables it could be irritable bowel especially if you are under stress...a product like Metamucil or Citrucel can help regulate that...when i was young I had diahrea no matter what i ate..now older it is constipation...a dr. told me to take one of the above products no matter which...also forgot to add in my first post that sugar free products contain sucrolose which can cause both gas and diahrea...wish I could decide how to spell diahrea....

I am more gassy than before, but not that bad. I am actually hoping my body will get use to the food. I feel that the good outweighs the bad. I can feel a big difference in my Energy level in just 2 weeks. This is my third week. I am just really ready for a change.

Yes same for me. But through the process of elimination I found that it was the peanut butter vitamin bar. The cookies and cream are fine. Also if you really like the peanut butter bar better eat a small amount of non-fat yogurt (Yoplait) an hour before or after eating the bar, it seems to neutral out the gas.

I am much less gassy now than I was in the beginnig. I am in my 6th week. I think my body needed time to adjust.

I find it so strange how differenlty we are all effected by this food. I am fine on the peanut butter bars and but I am really gasses when I eat the cookies and cream bars....it is all trial and error I guess. I will try the yogurt tip thanks for posting it smile.gif

I hope you don't quit! try Beano. my friend uses it for her Jenny Craig gas and it really works! good luck!

I was searching the Net in desperation over my atrocious gas/JC diet and came across this post. I can say that yes, seriously, my gas is horrific and the worst I've ever experienced. I'm in my 4th week on JC. I love the diet, minus the foul-smelling gas. Lately my partner and my mother keep saying they think one of my children (a 2-yr-old & a 14-mos-old) has a poop in his/her diaper...but it's actually me. Kinda funny, I know, but truly disgusting and embarrassing. My son keeps saying, "Stinks in here," or "I smell poop." What in the **** are they putting in the food!??!?!

I've been having a little more gas than usual but having the WORST gas cramps and a little indigestion. I've always eaten lots of fruits and veggies but I think the food has a lot of fiber in it. I'm not eating the anytime bars and i use almond milk so those are not factors for me. I did notice that I can't eat a salad every day for lunch - that kills me. I started taking papaya fruit digestive enzymes after dinner and sometimes lunch and that's REALLY helped. smile.gif

I don't think it's the milk, I'm lactose intolerant and I don't drink milk. I think it's all the veges and fruit!

So papaya enzymes really help?? Maybe I'll try it.

In my second week - the first week my gas was awful. But I truly think it is from all the fruits and veggies and not necessarily the JC food. Second week is better - may be adjusting to the amount of fruits and veggies. Thanks for the suggestions for Beano or Gas-X if it contiues.
