I am so pleased to see a Millitary Friendly Forum in Jenny Craig. My husband and I were just stationed here in November (southern Maryland) and I was curious if anyone else was close?

Oh awesome. My husband is actually there right now for some training. How's the base?

I'm former active duty Navy and I've lived in Northern VA and Southern MD.

I am very familiar with Quantico... I grew up down there and we frequented the base.

It's a beautiful base. As the Crossroads of the Marine Corps, there are plenty of reasons to check it out, if you haven't already. Plus they opened the new Marine Corps museum. Quantico is mostly a training facility so much of the base is forest preserve and used for training exercises. The FBI is there as well. But there's also a gorgeous golf course and the shopping (Exchange and Commisary) are nice.

Enjoy your time in the DC area. Make sure to take advantage of all there is to see. Much of it (like all of the Smithsonian Museums and Zoo) are free. You're also close to Baltimore... great Little Italy, Inner Harbor, Camden Yards, National Aquarium, fabulous restaurants.
