Hi,
I just finished my first day. It really wasn't too bad at all. I had a headache so I did not excersize.
There is a TON of milk. I am not a big milk drinker. I don't mind it in my cereal. I like to dunk my cookies in it. But I just don't drink it to drink it. Is there something I can substitute for the milk?
Also, what about for dinner veggies? Most of the veggies for dinner are just okay. I don't see tons of variety. I love peas and corn etc. But they aren't on there. I know they are starchy but when can you eat them.
I am sure I will have more questions. Any tricks or advice anyone can give?
Thanks,
From the Rocky Mountains

Hi, I use Silk Light Soy Milk. I don't like milk, although I do eat yogurt and other dairy products. I just don't like to drink it. There are several brands that make a light version; Silk just happens to be my favorite.
As for the veggies, I try to shop at my local farmers' market when possible and just eat whatever's in season. You can use starchy vegetables when your JC meals say you should add a starch. I think the Pasta Fagioli requires that, so I usually dump in a serving of frozen peas or corn.
Sorry I'm not a bigger help. I'm not very creative with my meals. I eat a lot of non-JC meals because I just couldn't hang with so few options. Good luck on the program!

The main reason they have you consuming so much milk is for the calcium. I went on-line to find substitutions for all the milk. If you like soymilk, look for the fortified kind, it's loaded with calcium. Other foods would be yogurt, cheese, tofu, bokchoy, cabbage, spinach, most greens and some beans.
Good Luck

Hi there;
Just a suggestion, do you like cottage cheese? I know it is listed as a meat, but I asked in the centre if I could substitute cottage cheese for a milk serving. The answer was yes I could, and 1/2 cup is one serving. I like using it with the fruit.
