Hello, Ladies!

I've just joined the forum, though I've been a JC participant on and off since 1996. Lost 70 pounds between 1996-7, but didn't get to maintenance. Now that I'm 61, I'm more motivated but less able to exercise as I did 12 years ago, but I'm determined to make this work this time (started back in February).

What are you going to do about the upcoming holidays and family coming for dinner? Back in 2005, I seem to recall JC offering holiday menus and large, family sizes of the lemon cake. I understand the cakes are no longer available.

Any suggestions for feeding the family and sticking to the plan?

Thanks.

Over the Christmas Holidays I did the Turkey Dinner. I opted to eat what I made for the family and just watched the portion sizes. I love stuffing so I skipped the mashed potatoes and had stuffing instead. I had cucumber salad - made with low-fat salad dressing and splenda - instead of the corn. I also skipped my afternoon fruit so I could have my 2 slices of cranberry with my meal. I was planning on doing the Turkey again for Easter but my kids decided they would like my homemade spaghetti. I figure this shouldn't be too much different that the rotini with meatballs as long as I watch my portion. We will be having 7-layer salad and garlic bread with the meal but I will skip the garlic bread!!

And as Betty Jo had suggested in an earlier post, you can opt to have one of your Jenny dinners that is comperable to what you will be making the rest of the family, such as the beef and mashed potatoes or the turkey dinner, and then have one of your Jenny desserts!

Best wishes and hope to hear more from you!!
Kathy

Hi TK,
I agree with Kathy, just really match the portion sizes to your Jenny Craig portions, and you should do fine. My counselor said to drink your glass of milk about 1/2 hour before the meal and know what you're going to eat, and it worked for me!
