Heyy, My names Krysten im 15 going on 16 in May, looking for a weight loss program and just wanted to ask a few questions:
1. What does the cost of food run?
2. How has this worked for teens with school and everything?
3. Would you recommend it?
Thanks for the help and good luck with the quest for a healthy lifestyle.

Hey Krysten,
My name is Jessie, I'm 18 and I've been on the program for about a month now.

To answer your questions, I find that I spend about $115 on average for food each week. (If you join, be sure to become a rewards customer...great savings!) In terms of school, I had my worries...we have an amazing chef at my school and he makes wonderful food everyday for the whole highschool (it's a small one lol...only about 100 people).

Anyway, I was definitely concerned that one, it would be difficult to resist the "regular" food and two, that people would wonder about me always bringing my little box of Jenny's Cuisine. However, I found it was easiest just to tell people that you like and can trust what you're doing...and it is really convenient! I would say, as long as you have a microwave somewhere on campus, go for it.

Also, before you start, really make sure you are ready to start a program like this...it's not easy. If you have any questions or just want to chat, don't hesitate to message me. Take care!

Hey Krysten,
First of all, I like how you spell your name with the y and all.
Second, I am on the Jenny Craig program. (I just could not get the system to realize that.) I was on the program from fall 2006 to last August when I went away to school. This is my third week back on the program.
Third, your questions:
The food does cost about $115 a week, and most definitely get on the rewards program. Also, you will need more food than Jenny Craig sells such as salads, fruits, veggies, and fat free yogurt.
About the school situation, I was homeschooled, but I see no reason why school would get in the way of your diet if your school has a microwave and you can find the time to eat a small snack mid-morning.
Of course, I would recommend it. My father lost 100 lb.s on Jenny and my mother 40 lb.s. It is the only diet that ever worked for them. This is not a fad diet - it does not advertise loosing weight fast. (Usually, loosing weight fast leads to gaining it back again but with a higher body fat percentage so that the dieter is worse off than he was to begin with.) It took me some time to understand this, but there is no "I'll diet until I get to my weight goal - then I can eat whatever I like and stay skinny." Jenny basically teaches that it is a matter of lifestyle - If you start living right and healthy, you will look healthy. Jenny recommends that an overweight person should lose about 1% of his (or her) weight per week. For example, If the dieter weighs 200 lb.s, he or she should lose 2lb.s per week.
Sorry I made this so long. I hope you have good luck with the quest for a healthy lifestyle, too. And feel good about yourself right now. Do not dispise yourself for not looking the way you want to look. If you truly are overweight, be proud of yourself for taking the first step to healing your body.
Hayley
