PB Anytime Bars
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Lentils with Beef
SW chicken with Rice
And that's all. I love the rest!!!!!

QUOTE(Winning Loser @ Feb 22 2008, 09:21 PM)

There was a great thread on the old board in which people listed their LEAST favorite Jenny foods. I just thought I'd create a new one since it was such an interesting thread and it doesn't seem to have survived the upgrade. It amazes me how some people hate some of my favorites and love some of the ones I hate!
Anyway, my LEAST favorite Jenny foods are:
The Tuna and Chicken Salad kits (Cat food kits!)
The Italian Wedding Soup
The Pesto Pizza (you can't put it in a toaster oven)
The Chicken Pasta Parmesan
The Ravioli (and I love ravioli, just not this one!)
My least favorites are :
Anything tomato based, ugh.

I'm glad I came on here because thanks to some of you girls I will NOT be trying the tuna/cat food kits
I'm pretty scared !! hahaha There are still a few things I have not yet tried, but here's the ones I have.
My dislikes of the Jenny Cuisine are as follows :
Garden Vegetable soup -
couldn't eat it, tasted like vomitSwedish Meatballs -
ew . nothing swed about em :-/Beef sirloin w/ rice -
It's okay if you like tiny flat cubes of beef having been cooked all day in the sun on rocks .. gross !Chicken Pasta Parmesan -
it scares me . has a very funky tase . ickBest of luck to all on the Jenny program

I would try everything once. I actually was afraid to try the tuna, so I tried the chicken... I love it.. I did finally try the tuna, it was ok.. I'd rather have the chicken. COULD NOT EAT THE Swedish Meatballs, those were GROSS!!! Hated the BBQ chicken pizza, but probably because I don't like chicken on my pizza...

I don't do the soups.. don't like those.. LOVE, LOVE the muffins for breakfast. Good luck!! Lisa

My least favorite is the potstickers meal. I don't like tofu; but I do like potstickers....just not this meal. I thought the sauce had a funky fishy taste. I don't know if they add sesame oil or something like that for flavoring but I didn't like the sauce in the meal.
That's about the only meal I won't reorder. The last one stayed in the freezer so long that it went past the use by date so I threw it away.

zesty tortellini soup bowl this was supposed to be my lunch today I couldnt eat it. This is the first thing in three weeks I absolutely could not eat, I dont like the salad kits either but I managed to get those down but wont order again. I havent found a soup yet, I had the corn chowder and didnt like that either, I dont remember what Ihad last week but was not impressed. I'm really disappointed because I love soup especially in the fall and winter and besides I like to have one each week to keep my cost down, anyone have suggestions for a JC soup that is good otherwise I will have to make my own

Well i've only done 1 week of JC so far...and most of the foods have been good.
On the Tuna Salad Kit, I put mustard on the cracker, then some tuna...it helps a little...just drink lots of water and down it lol
anyways my least favorite food was definately the BROCCOLI AND CHEESE STUFFED POTATO....ew that thing was the most disgusting dinner i ever ate.

On my 2nd week of Jenny (3rd time I've joined though in 7 years)! - shame on me and to be honest the menu has hardly changed???? which was a little disappointing - come on guys what gives?
Blueberry muffin? - my dog wouldn't even it eat it, I found it dry and bland, big soft choclate chip cookie same, very dry (I felt like Jim Carrey in Me Myself & Irene when he had cotton mouth)! BUT....I have to say I have way more favorites than dislikes: me loves the cat food kits, love the cooked breakfasts (sunshine sandwhich I could eat that every morning)! love all the savory snacks, if anyone loves cheddar popcorn you get LOADS

which is great, my favorite lunch is the turkey burger, I felt like I was cheating!!!
I have 40lbs to go approx - good luck to all you guys out there - stick with it, I only stopped going first two times because of money issues but have decided this time I'm worth it, my kids have now left home so it's time for me!!!

I have really tried to be open minded about trying most things. However, last week my JCC let me pick my menu for the first time and I was thrilled. She said I might as well be eating the things I really like and I agree.
The things I don't like (and this is obviously personal preference since this thread shows that everyone is different) are:
1. Veggie sausage (I liked the pancakes though)
2. Honey Oat Bar and Oatmeal Breakfast Square
3. Soups and Soupitizers (all of them)
4. Rotini with meatballs
5. Sweedish meatballs
6. Potstickers (I just don't eat Tofu)
7. Pretzels
Based on my JCC and these boards, I have skipped trying some things but most I love!
Good Luck All,

I agree that cooking the pizza in the oven is better. The only thing I haven't liked so far is the Turkey club panini. The meat in it grossed me out. I add veggies to everything and that helps. I didn't care for the soupitizers. I make my veggies in fat free chicken broth which adds flavor and the broth is filling.
I've liked all the snacks except the pretzels.
I think if I had added veggies and or salsa to the breakfast scramble it would have been better.
Also the mashed potatoes in the frozen and shelf stable meals have an odd texture.

I just had the GROSS cashew chicken and there were these spongy disgusting things in there that I am pretty sure were supposed to be mushrooms.
I hate the oatmeal bar thing for breakfast
I detest the chicken salad. I like the tuna salad, but I could eat a whole pack of tuna and forego the mayo and crackers and actually be happier.

I agree with most about the shelf stable foods, completely disgusting!!!
And something I have noticed. Everyone seems to hate the tuna and chicken salad kits (myself included) but the temporary salad kits are great! I don't know why they don't just get rid of the bland tuna and chicken kits and make the turkey cranberry, hawaiian chicken, and fajita chicken permanent instead.

The Oatmeal Breakfast Bar was, to me, totally inedible.
I had the Southwestern Chicken Burrito today and almost couldn't eat it. Mushy and gross!!
I don't know if it's just psychological, but the shelf stable stuff makes me gag. I just can't imagine eating meat that's been sitting at room temperature for a couple of days.
I've tried the Tuna Salad kit (blech) and the Fajita Chicken Salad kit and couldn't stand either one.
I've only been on the plan two weeks and those are the only items that really stand out as being terrible. Some of the items aren't too good, but I can eat them. Mostly everything else is pretty good!

Pesto Pizza (worst thing I've had on JC)
Italian Wedding Soup (very bland)
Pancakes with veggie sausage (the pancakes are fine.. the sausage is gross)

Hated the
turkey chili ... so much that I couldn't finish it ... just went hungry
Hated the
cheesy enchilada's. Never cared for enchiladas before so that didn't surprise me, lol
Soupitizer's have to be the most disgusting food item I've ever consumed. I'd rather eat cardboard.

NOT a fan of the Cookout Chicken. HOW MUCH SAUCE DO THEY PUT IN THERE??? I felt like that poor chicken breast was just SWIMMING in sauce...blech. Will not be getting that again!

These are the items I no longer buy. Before my session, I print out the week menu from the Jenny etools, and if these items are on it, I substitute or do MOMO:
Beef Chow Mein
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Salad Kits
Shelf Stable Rotini
Chili
Swedish Meatballs.
My favorite is the Fish and Chips. I like all the pizzas, all the frozen pasta dishes.
I have about 10 more pounds to go, which is a good thing, because the list of foods I like is getting smaller the longer I am on the diet. However, I would still recommend the diet over anything else out there.

Great thread!
Favorites:
French Toast I toast the slices in my toaster oven.
Triple Grain Cereal
Oatmeal Bar like it with my morning coffee
Turkey Burger without the sauce. I just put mustard on it. Also, I toast the bun.
Beef Chow-mein is pretty good.
Rising Crust Pizza
Mac and Cheese
Fish and Chips
I do like the Chocolate Peanut butter bars. I can't take vitamins. I agree they are look like spackle but I like the saltiness of the peanut-butter.
Caramel Peanut bars
Lemon Cake
Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
Cinnamom Twists
I haven't tried the Strawberry Shortcake yet.
Dislike:
I have a lot of dislikes but won't list them all.
Turkey Panini
Corn Chowder
Pesto Pizza
Chicken with Bar-b-que
Cookies and Cream Cheesecake and Chocolate Chip Bar. I don't dislike these , just don't care for them.

BBQ BEEF SANDWICH: this is the worst item that jenny craig has. this taste like cat/dog food. it is absolutely horrible! it doesn't even taste like bbq beef. it has a weird clove taste. WHERE'S THE BEEF? corn? who ever heard of putting corn or cheddar cheese in a bbq beef sandwich? i heard of swiss or mozzerella (however you spell it) but corn and cheddar? yuck! what is up with all the corn? in the burrito, the chicken chowder, rice and beans, it's in a lot of food and i hate it.
I LOVE the sweedish meatballs. i eat it for dinner and put cottage cheese on top for my extra meat. i also love the potato soup but they are discontinuing that.

So this was my first week on Jenny Craig. I was on it before but this was 7 years ago. I loved the carrot cake they had somewhat sad that its gone.
But today i had the worst food ever. Lunch was chicken noodle soup and dinner was the potstickers. I was so disappointed.

I guess everyones taste buds are different. I hope by reading this I don't end up closed minded to the new foods since this is ONLY day 2 LOL....
yesterday I loved everything.
Cereal
Turkey Burger
Spag and Meatballs
anytime bar although chewy and I refrigerate it wasn't bad and was filling.
cinnamon twist- loved em...would rather have with my morning cup of joe though.
Today is a new menu so will let ya know how it goes...

did you know that if there are foods you don't like you can be on a "personalized" menu? you can pick which foods you want to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. that way if you want muffins every morning you can do that and you don't have to eat the gross foods.

Wow the southwestern burrito I just had yesterday and it was immediately a favourite. Mine was not mushy at all though.
I have not had anything yet that I super hate (am on day 6 of week 2) and really there is nothing that for sure I won't order again though I did not much like the rotini and meatballs. I might try it again when I am travelling, though it depends if I find shelf stable stuff I like better.
A few dishes (potstickers) I thought were just okay as is but doctored up became fabulous. I love the potstickers. I am not crazy about the fake meat bits in the rice (gross) but if I add some soy sauce, chinese veggies, and some srirachi spicy chili sauce you can't taste the fake meat and it becomes much better. The potstickers themselves are fabulous imo, just the rice is weird.
I have only had the oatmeal bar once but I crumbled it on top of thinly sliced apple tossed with cinnamon and baked it and had it like an apple crisp and it was really pretty yummy.

I find it interesting that so many hate somethings while others like them.
I think anyone new on the plan to test all of the foods for themselves.
Bashing the shelf stable foods is unfair for those who have no other options, like me. I also like some things some of you hate. I think the plan is wonderful to offer us so many options. Heck, I don't like all offerings the grocery store or in all restaurants, either.
I even find things I didn't care for the first time, later in the program became favorites. I think my tastes are changing on this plan. I eat much healthier most of the time.
When I started the plan, someone gave me the advice to try all items at least once. From those trials I created my own favorites.
I also think some of the ones I expected to hate, because of their name, I loved. So I learned a good lesson here... taste before deciding and don't let someone else make a decision for me.
I started by having the full month come to me preplanned. From that, I picked my own favorites.
I love the convenience of the shelf stable foods. I am able to eat within 15 minutes from starting my salad. I can carry the kits with me when I am on outings. I love this plan.
Aloha from Kauai (where we don't get the frozen foods yet)

I have been on the JC program for 5 weeks now and I've lost 15 pounds :-) Here are my favorite and my least favorite foods:
Love: BBQ Chicken Pizza, Rising Crust Pizza, Cashew Chicken, Spaghetti w/Meatballs, Lasagna, Chicken Stuffed Sandwich, Meatball Stuffed Sandwich, Blueberry Pancakes w/Sausage, Lemon Cake, Cheese Curls, Bruschetta Veggie Chips, Chocolate Cake
Hate: Chicken Sandwich (too grisly), Breakfast Scramble (eggs are mushy), French Toast (spongy), Soft Chocolate Chip Cookie (tasteless)
Most of the other foods I have tried are middle of the road...I hope JC comes out with a larger selection soon!

This is the funniest thread ever! I did JC about 1 1/2 years ago-so I knew coming into it this time not to order certain things. Somethings I just won't plain bother ordering or even trying. I have to say however that I had the meatloaf in my freezer for weeks and just refused to eat it. One night I finally gave in-and it's FANTASTIC. I add loads of sauteed veggies to the dish and it just one giant meal of yumminess!
Love:
Frech toast
Pancakes
Turkey Burger
most of the pizzas
stuffed sandwiches
Fish and Chips
Spaghetti and Meatballs
Cashew Chicken (although so many people seem to hate this?)
Cheesecakes
No interest in eating any of the canned foods or kits (I remember these were awful from last time). No interest in eating any of the soups or soupitizers. I don't eat the anytime bars-I just have an extra yogurt or milk instead. The salmon was awful too! I love salmon-so seeing it frozen in some inedible square is not very appealing and breaks my little heart!

I've come back after a few years. I can't believe the salad kits are still here! I did get the chicken one and doctor it up with fresh chives, and chopped red pepper. I put it in a tomato or red pepper and it is okay.
Never agains? Anytime bars, spaghetti & meatballs, tuna salad kit.
I could take or leave the southwestern chicken but it was very good with a princess rose recipe.
I can doctor just about everything to taste better (except those listed above!)
Oh - I really liked the potstickers!

There is nothing I cannot stomach; I like everything in general.
Having said that, the chicken sandwich, well, I could do without it. I still do eat it because it's on the planned menu now and then.
A word on the salad kits- they are a must for those of us who travel. I'd much rather have the option of eating one of those, than trying to maneuver my way through the fatty, salty business lunches that are usually offered...is there a vegetable in the house??? Not usually.

I think the soft chocolate chip cookie is absolutely horrible. And I was so looking forward to it, too. Definitely not worth wasting a snack over. I LOVE the triple chocolate cheesecake, though.

Other than that everything else has been good! I'm only on day 11.

Only been on jenny for a week and a half, tonight I had the Fish and chips, The fish was really gross microwaved. I'm not sure if it just had to do with being microwaved, it may have been less "mushy" if I cooked it in the oven.
The same goes with the Chicken Fajitas, I'm sure they would have been a lot better if I would have cooked them in the skillet.
Along with a lot of you folks. The Soft chocolate chip cookie isn't to good. it doesn't really taste like a cookie.
Besides that I can't say that I've had anything horrible. But I am still taking the venture deeper into the menu.
The best thing I've had was the tortilini with meatballs (I think that's the name of it) It was *really good* and really filling. and it doesn't need to be frozen, It's like a Mobile meal, just add microwave!

Love Love Love (or Like A Lot):
Blueberry Pancakes with Veggie Sausage
Ravioli
Turkey with Gravy
Meat Loaf
All stuffed sandwiches
All Snack Bars
Cheese Popcorn
Mashed Potatoes with Beef
Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
(did I mention the Triple Choc Cheesecake?)
Hate Hate Hate:
All Salad Kits
The chicken fajitas are the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth
Pesto Pizza was a letdown
Choc Chip Cookie wasn't inedible but definitely a letdown
Anytime Bars
The non-refrigerated meals are ok. I have to eat them on certain days b/c I'm gone all day. But there's just something about them that tastes odd. I hoped the Cookout Chicken would be good....but there was just something about the chicken that didn't taste like chicken.....

this is an interesting thread

........ there are tastes and textures that we all enjoy and others we ' enjoy less'...... my thinking is this...... if we don't enjoy something? change it up a bit and find a way to make it work. After all, we haven't joined a Gourmet Dining Club... LOL we are trying to lose weight we no longer want to wear or need to wear, right?
Swedish meatballs. I saute some fresh mushrooms - sometimes add diced green peppers and onions and then add the heated Swedish meatballs. and I find that makes a nice lunch. If you have the Limited items free? you can also add a Tablespoon of Fat Free Sour Cream and waalaa........
The Chicken sandwich? I use it to make a Stir Fry. I Saute tons of red, green, yellow bell peppers, slivered onions , fresh mushrooms. Nuke the chicken piece for 1 minute then sliver that as well and add to the pan. I toast the little 'bun' and spritz it with the low calorie Butter substitute spray? I use Becel here in Canada?
I also do this with the Chicken fajitas, -- add lots of fresh sauteed veggies to it./I find the little tortillas small to bother with so make a Quesidella instead. on the plate first, dump all the Cooked stuff on, add some Fresh tomato Salsa , a bit of Fat free sour cream, then the other Tortilla. And Yummy .. eat with a knife and fork.
I believe in the Video section of the Website there is one of Valerie making this?? with the Fajitas? adding / Volumizing with your own fresh veggies.
There are some things / meals I'm not a 'fan' of....... can't do the pizzas, for some reason they remind me of cardboard so i just get other things for those days instead.
I'm pleased with the variety available to us tho really when it comes down to it. The Panini sandwich? not my favourite but with a teaspoon of Relish it seems to Zip it up enough to enjoy with a Side tossed salad. Also the Salad Kit? I always have a Huge bowl of Tossed salad..... dump the Salad kit on top with a Tablespoon or 2 of Fat Free Ranch and enjoy the crackers with it too. often save the fruit cup to have with my mid afternoon snack as after the huge salad I'm pretty full
don't be afraid to experiment, Ok?? you can come up with all sorts of New improved things......... and if you find something you think is Awesome? don't hesitate to come and share with everyone

I actually dont mind the cat kits they are easy to bring to work and the chicken one (the only i would try now) is actually quite tasty!!

When you cook the fajitas in the microwave press the extra water out of the fajita mix by blotting it between paper towels after heating before you stir in the fajita seasoning. I like to add jared salsa, a squirt of JC ranch dressing, a dash to tobasco sauce and sometimes a low fat cheese slice.
By the way, I can't believe the salad kits got so many thumbs down. I prefer it to a lot of the hot lunches. Not crazy about the stuffed sandwiches, the brocolli cheese potato, the chicken chowder, pesto pizza, and I had to work on the personal pizza to make it taste better. But the salad kits are favorties.
