Wow to each there own. I love the southwestern burrito it's one of mt favorite lunch meals.
Least Favorites: Cheesy Enchilada. Yuck I almost barfed it up. It looks like someone sneezed in the plate. It was just so gross. The chicken salad kit, traditional lasagna t(here was way too much garlic in that dish), chicken Pasta Parmesan(I just had that it's not so good), cookout style chicken ( well there are no words to truly convey that one), fish and chips (ugh ummm with tartar sauce I could eat this one)
Favorites : Blueberry Muffins, Pancakes, French toast, beef chow mein, chicken burrito, chicken sandwich, chili con carne fajitas, fettuccine, both dinner pizzas, meatloaf, salisbury steak, beef with mashed potatoes, the broccoli and cheese potato, popcorn, cheese curls and lemon cake.
I was really disappointed with the cinnamon twists.

Like everyone mentioned- all the shelf foods are totally gross and taste like a poor imitation of chef boyardee (which isn't saying much!
The tuna kit wasn't terrible at all - you just have to know what fat free mayonaise tastes like.
I LOVE the fish and chips - I cook them in the oven then put them in the frying pan with pam to crisp them up and then eat them with a little ketchup and a bunch of spinach.
I use the chili con carne to make taco salad (lettuce, hot salsa, lowfat sour cream -delish and so filling!
Hate all the soups - dinner pizzas are good. You just have to add flavour to everything- not that bad.
CHEESECAKE IS DELISH!

If any of y'all have ever been on Nutrisystem... you would REALLY appreciate the food that Jenny Craig Offers. I would seriously have to chase every bite of Nutrisystem food with water or diet soda it was so bad. I haven't found anything on Jenny Craig that is totally inedible, but I don't really care for the soups.. they are just so bland.
My least favorite though is the Swedish Meatballs.. UGH i just had that today for lunch because I am doing the fixed menus... I was just dreading it all day. The smell...color.. taste.. everything is just gross to me.
I actually don't mind eating the shelf stable foods though ( i think onces you've been through Nutrisystem anything seems delicious lol) but the best shelf stable food has to be the Southwestern chicken with rice and beans; Add some Cholula and its pretty good!

The ones I will never order again
Graham twists - cardboard
Fish n Chips (tried the oven way and still blah)
Pizza - all taste like cardboard crust to me
Cheezy enchilada (like red sauce not white)
Pasta Fagioli - just didn't like consistency
SW burrito - chunk of gristle never again
sechuan pork - too much gristle meat
cereals (only due to cost)
chicken stuff sandwich - too soupy watery cheese, but love the meatball one
homestyle chicken n noodles - its not a stew nor a soup, in between and ugh
cheesecakes - just not my taste
brownie - too small and doesn't satisfy me mentally
cookies - too dry, not a big cookie fan anyhow
pancakes - taste watery to me
Things I'm not even going to give a shot
Salmon
potato soup garden soup tortilla soup
sweet sour chicken
beef n mashed potatoes
cashew chicken
trail mix
breakfast stuffed sandwich
I'd like to try the breakfast burrito but my center says they don't sell them anymore.

This are quite intersting to read, and a lot of us are on the same wave length. LOL My least favorite:
1.Any Soups and soupitizers (I do get the potato soup but it sounds good)
2.Just about any shelf stable meal/lunch. Yuck-O I do like/tollerate the chicken salad kit once a week, since it makes dinner at church easier and the crackers make up the difference.
3. Potstickers... I agree with who ever discribed it as tofu on top of rice mascarading as chicken ...LOL
4.Anytime bars.. I wont order them!
Favorites so far:
1-3. Cheesecake (I've had the chocolate and cookies and cream and look forward to trying the new one this week-yummy!)
4. meatloaf
5. French toast
I do enjoy the frozen items best, except for the cereals/breakfast items. And if I have a choice I substitue out the shelf stable ones.

That's too bad. I ordered a whole bunch this week, as I really like them with some salsa. My centre still has them, and they're on a 2 for 1 special.
As far as the pizzas - if you microwave them, they're disgusting. But i found if I put them in the oven, they could be quite passable, especially the BBQ chicken. I add extra veggies often, and sometimes save a milk serving from the morning, and put low-fat cheese on top to make it extra cheesy. Keep in mind, tomato sauce is an unlimited free, so with veggies, a little extra cheese and tomato sauce, they can be pretty decent, though it takes a little effort.

It is funny that the very foods some people hate, I love.
For example, I love...
Potstickers
Meatloaf
Turkey and Gravy
BBQ Pizza
Fish and Chips (wish it had more protein in it)
Chicken Carbonnara
Beef and Barley Stew (wish they'd fix it so it doesn't blow up on you!)
Turkey Burgers
Chicken Sandwich
Cheesy Enchiladas
All frozen breakfasts
Good gosh, this list could go on forever.
Didn't care for...
Szechwan Pork (yuck)
Traditional Lasagna
Rotini
Not too bad, huh? Of course, I don't cook, so I'm just thrilled that I have such a wide selection.

So I had the Swedish meatballs.... I thought they tasted like... Swedish meatballs? Maybe I built up a horrid experience so when it actually came to it... they weren't bad at all.
Next challenge: Teriyaki Glazed Salmon (dinner tonight) - wish me luck!

It is interesting to read about the differences in our taste buds.
I love the potstickers. It's one of my favorite dinners. At first I refused to eat the Salisbury Steak (I was being a steak snob), but then I think I got it by accident and tried it, and surprisingly enough, I enjoyed it A LOT!!! Who knew?!!
For breakfast, I love the Sunshine Sandwiches the best!!
I look forward to the 10:00 Anytime Bars (either one). It helps me drink even more water!!!
For lunch, I love the Turkey Burgers and the Meatball Stuffed Sandwich.
Desserts? I love most of them but made the mistake of having 7 for the week instead of the lower calorie choices for snacks. I didn't realize the difference in calories until last night.

Dina,
What do you mean? Can't I have a desert every night (JC that is)? No one mentioned anything to me about looking for lower cal deserts. Is this something official? This could certainly explain my lower weight losses for the last two weeks.
Thanks.

The only thing disturbing I found was how incredibly square it was.

I havent tried everything yet. I mostly ordered the frozen stuff and like most of it. I think it depends on what I am in the mood for. Sometimes meatloaf and comfort foods, sometimes something lighter like a cashew chicken. I am on my 5th week so I decided to try some of the shelf foods. I got the cookout chicken and beans. It didnt sound too good but what the heck. When I was in the mood to try it, I did and I really enjoyed it! I also tried the chicken and noodle shelf stable meal too. I added some chicken broth and a few veggies and got two big bowls. I like the tuna and chicken salad items. One big reason is I can throw them in the car and run errands or such and have a quick lunch on the go. I was told if you add some celery and raisins they are really good. Havent tried it yet. I am really trying to think of something I dont like but the worst I had was on day one. It was some kind of frozen lunch, stir fry with beef. There just wasnt enough of it. I was starving. I havent tried it again. I am not real crazy about the dry cereal, mostly because there isnt very much of it. But the cranberry gets me a meat and fruit extra so I enjoy that too.

I got the trail mix and thought yuck, then I added it to my yogurt. Now I specifically order a trail mix every week. I thinkyou have to play with some of the JC items to suit your tastes. I had the potato soup yesterday just to see. It was too thick so I added part of my milk allowance and some celery seed. If I had the energy I would have cooked some celery and added it maybe next time on that. Anyway I had a thinner, soup that really tasted very good to me. Could have left the garlic out in my opinion but still good. I started the personalized plan this week. When I put down the potato soup it shows i get a starch and a meat and of course my salad for lunch. So I got a slice of cheese and 4 crackers. That really made the soup something special.

Wow you dont like the cinnamon twists? Its so funny about people's tastes. I bought the cookout style chicken with beans not because I thought it would be good just to change things up as I mostly bought only frozen stuff. After 5 weeks on the frozen stuff I decided to try it. I couldnt beleive I actually liked it. I think I just really liked the bbq sauce and after so long the pork and beans even tasted good to me. I wont get it every week but it just goes to show that switching things around can work. I made a crispy slaw to eat with the bbq dish maybe that helped too. Good luck with your food choices

I just tried the Chicken Sandwich today for lunch and it was very good. I'll definitely buy it again. I HATED the sauce but used some light salad dressing on it. I cooked it in the microwave for a lot less time than recommended. I cooked just the breast for 60 seconds and then the breast and bun for 40 seconds. My chicken breast was juicy and not stringy at all.
Hope this helps someone!

I wasn't crazy about any of the soupatizers. I hated the fish & chips. I found the peanut butter anytime bars had a metallic after taste, but I think it's because you're basically eating a crushed up vitamin pill. Everything else, in my opinion, has been fine. The shelf-stable pasta dishes are great if you stir in some cooked broccoli, garlic salt and oregano.

Oh man the Tuna and Chicken Kits were augh... I didn't like the pork and rice meal. YUCK. I also can't stomach the sweedish meatballs or any of the non frozen meals like that. Also the Turkey Burger made me wanna vomit. Even my pet rat wouldn't eat it lol!
My FAVES though are hands down Fish and Chips (at LEAST 2 days a week!) Blueberry muffins, Sunshine Sandwich, breakfast Scramble, Chicken Sandwich.. All YUM! Any of the dinners that have little potatoes on the side, I always reach for those first. I LOVE potatoes! tonight I had the Mesquite Chicken and I was in heaven.. I haven't tried either chilis. How are they? Do they have lots of "chunks" in them? I'm super weird about veggies in chili and I can't stomach chunks of veggies... I really really love chili though so I think I'll try it next week.

I LOVE the macaroni and cheese and I also LOVE the potstickers.
I hate the potato soup, and one time I found a huge vein in my chicken sandwich, so that's been a no go.
I think the maple hot cereal was disgusting.
And if pretzels were my weakness, I wouldn't be on the JC program. What's with the "sour dough bites?"

WOW! I like alot of the "unpopular" foods.
Well I guess that means there will always be plenty available. lol
I have to agree with the TUNA SALAD KIT --- pure cat food (NASTY! YUK! YUK! YUK!

)
I like the chicken salad kit though.

I don't care for the potstickers either.
Dislike many of the non-frozen entrees too. ( Although I like the tortellini , and chili . Go figure.)
As for breakfast - I like most of what is offered. Not a big fan of the breakfast scramble or sunshine sandwich.
(Not a fan of microwaved eggs.)
I like the mac n cheese dinner as well...so I guess I am in the minority again.
Like the fish n chips too. (Don't microwave them...they're MUCH better that way!
Some of the soups lack flavor IMO...they really need to add *something* to make them more tasty.
I feel there are too many "Italian" foods offered with tomato sauce/ garlic. I do get tired of this (pizza, pizza, pizza, tortellini, lasagna, meatball sandwich) . They are all fine, but I just wish that JC would offer a few more entrees without tomato sauce.
After saying all that ,I can see that there seems to be as many differing opinions here as there are people for the most part. I am glad that there are so many selections to choose from.

Cashew Chicken
Least Fav's:

I agree with the other posters about the shelf stable foods too...kind of gross...I do like the turkey chili (dinner) and pour onto a large salad...add salsa and it's a delicious taco salad
I only started about a month ago and did some of the prepared menus to get a variety of the meals...but now I prefer to choose my own. Have a great week!!
The Rotini and meatballs is a shelf food that's not too bad. I also like the fajitas. I wish they would bring back the turkey panini

I have been program for about 2 weeks now, so I haven't tried all the foods. However from what I have tried the chicken salad kit was the worst. I thought it was terrible! Left a horrible taste in my mouth, even after brushing my teeth.
Second would be the Sweet and Sour chicken. Just did not taste like Sweet and Sour Chicken.
Third place would go to the Swedish Meatballs. It was edible just did not care to much for it.

My least favorite foods are
Any of the soupitizers - I'd rather have more veggies or a salad
Swedish Meatballs - Dog LOVED them though.
Tuna, Hawaiian Chicken and Chicken salads - Never again
Beef and Mashed Potatoes - Dog LOVED this one too.
Sweet & Sour Chicken
Teriyaki Glazed Salmon
Potstickers are borderline for me. It's not the first thing I'd choose, but I definitely choose it over the ones mentioned above.

Least Fave's:
Chicken Salad Kit (tasted sour/spoiled)
Mashed Potatoes and Beef <--the worst shelf stable that they have...
Beef and Barley Stew
Cinnamon Twists (taste like stale petrified cinnamon pastry)
Love:
Fish and Chips <--I feel like I'm cheating when I eat this!!
Penne Pasta
Jenny Personal Pizza (add a ton of Italian seasonings and baked in oven)
Chocolate Peanut Caramel Bar <--unfortunately it is currently on recall list
Sunshine Sandwich
Unfortunately, by the time I joined, the Spaghetti and Meatballs and Turkey Panini were gone....they looked so good!!

Oh I hate reading this!!!
Im on my 2nd day today, and the swedish meatballs are lunch tomorrow..
AND I have a chicken salad kit to eat this week!! great.... lol
I dident like the soup yesterday, but everthing else so far has been fine.

Believe me everyone is different. I add celery to the tuna salad and a little lemon juice. It is fine. I keep it around for when I have to eat on the run. The potato soup I add some skim milk from my morning portion to thin it down. Sometimes I add a little chicken bullion just a bit to add some flavor. Its easy and makes it taste much better. I did only have sweedish meatballs once. That was enough for me but I am not really a pasta eater and the whole thing didnt appeal to me. But even my tastes change. I started out not liking the baked potato then I started getting bored with my choices so I had it today, baked it with some bacon bits. It was really very good. So rotating stuff is a good idea. Then there are some things that you will never like. oh well.

Anytime bars - I can't stomach them.
Soupitizers - Very bland, and left a horrible taste in my mouth
Popcorn - No matter how much water I drank, it was totally dry.
My most favourites:
French toast - I had this the very first day I joined JC and I fell in love
All of the cakes and desserts - Yuuummm. 'Nuff said.
Fish and Chips - I loooooooooove them.
Turkey Burger - Tastes wonderful and I put things on it that I would normally put on a hamburger.
Chicken Pasta Parmesan
Chicken Carbonara - SOOOOOOO good.

I am not very good at this message board thing.
I love the Veg Chicken Potstickers. I'm not crazy about the chicken salad so I eat it with red pepper. The crackers are a treat at the end.
The soups are just ok.
The cereals are great and I love the blueberry pancakes.
I don't buy the things I don't like such as salmon, fish and sticks and mac and cheese.
I really like the meatloaf, turkey, turkey burger and stuffed sandwichs.
This is the first time that I have been successful with a diet. I love the planned menus. I make sure I have lots of free foods or fruit at work and home so that when I'm hungry, I have something good to eat.

I am not at ALL picky....but even still, I was really pleasantly surprised at how good most of the JC food is.
Intolerable:
-Peanut Butter Anytime Bars. I really enjoy the C&C variety (surprising, as I'm not really a C&C-kinda gal), but the PB ones were just awful.
Can Eat, But Could Do Without:
-Chocolate Graham Twists (stuck to my teeth like nobody's business)
-Cheesy Enchilada (definitely needs to be jazzed up with salsa or something)
-Pesto Pizza (again, disappointingly bland)
-Breakfast Stuffed Sandwich (meh...)
-Sunshine Sandwich (again, I say meh...)
Favorites (because they're more fun):
-French Toast
-Blueberry Muffin
-Blueberry Pancakes & Veggie Sausage (SO good with some banana sliced on top)
-Beef Chow Mein
-Chili Con Carne
-Turkey Burger
-Turkey Panini
-Zesty Tortellini Soup
-Mac & Cheese
-Szechwan Pork
-Meatloaf w/BBQ sauce
-Spaghetti & Meatballs
-Turkey w/Gravy
-Veg & Chicken Potstickers
-Peanut Butter Bar (!!!!!! Where has this been all my life?!)
-White Cheddar Popcorn
-Chocolate Walnut Brownie (I like it heated with 2 tsps of peanut butter....heaven)
-Soft Chocolate Chip Cookie
Om nom nom!

As you can see, my favorites far outweigh the "mehs."

So far, I've like alot of the JC foods I've tried.
BUT from what I've had so far, here goes:
LEAST favorites (and won't buy again)
breakfast scramble
honey oat bar
beef chow mein
garden vegetable soup (YUCK)
potstickers (DOUBLE YUCK)
wasn't crazy about the ckn fajitas, but not sure if I will bother trying them again
I don't get the anytime bars (too "chaulky" for my taste)
and I don't get the soupitizers (not a big fan of soup)
haven't had the "pleasure" of trying the salad kits yet. For whatever reason, I was running around on those days.
And I won't try the stuffed sandwiches, neither
FAVORITES:
French Toast
Turkey Burger
Cheesy Enchiladas (add hot sauce!!)
Mac & Cheese (add stewed tomatos)
Turkey Club Panini
triple choc cheesecake

dolphn545Sometimes when the food doesn't seem to appeal? I try to find ways of 'kicking it up' a notch LOL........
For the Oatmeal Breakfast bar? I take half an apple and dice it up and nuke it for a minute.... then I sliced up a couple of strawberrie ( or raspberries ) , crumble up the Bar and nuke it again for an additional bit...... then use one of the little 100gm/4oz Vanilla FatFree yogurts over that and Yummmmm what a good breakfast! it's like having Apple crisp with Vanilla ice cream.... Seriously!
for the Beef Chow mein? I take about a cup of low fat chicken broth & simmer some diced carrots, onion, celery in it until they are soft. Nuke the Beef chow mein for about 1/2 the recommended time? add it to the Broth/veggies for a couple of minute, and Taadaaaa.... a really good Noodle Soup........
Can't help you there with the Garden vegetable soup, I don't care for that one either, but I DO like the Potstickers....... I just nuke a bunch of frozen Japanese Veggies and add to it and I love it.........

I haven't tried everything yet, but I like most of what I've tried.
My least favorites so far are:
CC anytime bar
Southwestern chicken burrito (the tortilla gets too hard in the micro and in the conventional oven)
Southwestern chicken with rice
Pesto pizza
Breakfast stuffed sandwich
Chili con carne
Chicken and sausage gumbo - the only flavor is pepper and I hate pepper
Italian Wedding - again, just takes like pepper
Banana Nut Cereal - the banana flavor is way too strong like banana laffy taffy
Blueberry Muffin - too dry
Maple Nut Hot cereal - I get bites of salty cereal no matter how much I mix it up
Chocolate Caramel peanut bar
Sourdough bites
I like variety, so I would buy some of them again (just not often) except the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo.
My favorites are:
Potstickers
Beef Chow Mein
Turkey Burger
Rising Crust Pizza
Fish and Chips
Macaroni and Cheese
French Toast
Broccoli and Cheese Potato
Banana Nut Muffin
Complete Start Cereal (I didn't like cereal before - I put soymilk and berries on top)
Meatball stuffed sandwich
Chicken Fettuccine
Turkey with Gravy
Meatloaf with BBQ Sauce
Salisbury Steak
Chocolate cake
Popcorn

I have actually started a DNR list for things I just can't handle. DNR is for DO NOT REORDER, though DO NOT RESUSCITATE might work, too. My list includes: beef & mashed potatoes; complete start cereal; potato soup; & salmon.
Questionable, might try again foods include: sunrise sandwich; scrambled eggs; meatball stuffed sandwich; Mac & cheese;
Love 'em foods are: cheesecake; lemon cake; chocolate cake; smores bar; chocolate caramel peanut bar; muffins, especially banana nut; frosted oats cereal; triple grain crisps cereal; turkey burger; beef & barley stew; cashew chicken; penne pasta.
Everything else is either ok, or untried as of yet.

After almost 4 weeks on JC, the only foods I don't like are the mexican chicken tortilla soup (too watery and spicy) and the Italian wedding soup (also very watered down), these are both bowl soups but the homestyle chicken soup in the box is awesome! The tuna salad kit I didn't like but the chicken salad is okay, especially if you put it on top of a salad of greens and tomatoes with dressing.
I am afraid to try the salisbury steak, it sounds gross to me, what does everyone else think?
The shelf foods so far have been very good ( and cheaper than the frozen too) I like the lentils w/ beef (very filling), I didn't mind the sweet and sour chicken. I chose the cheese tortellini thinking it was a frozen dinner and was shocked when I got home and saw it comes in a tiny little CAN?! But you'd be surprised how many tortellini they can shove in that can. a lot of sauce too, just wish I could have used some italian bread to eat it all up!

After my fifth week, I can say that most of the food I've tried is really good. However, this week I tried some new that I thought was horrible and would never reorder. I tried the Salmon dinner and thought it tasted terribly fishy, unlike a really good piece of salmon. It was the first thing I've eaten on Jenny Craig that I could not finish.

I cannot eat or tolerate either of the Salad Kits or the Cookout Chicken and Beans. I hate the Mac and Cheese, Swedish Meatballs, Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup, Italian Wedding Soup and Spinach & Tortellini (that is just plain old disgusting). I do not care for the Classico Chicken Parm, it's too bland for me. I can't eat the Turkey and Gravy, there's something in it that made me sick twice. I do not care for the Cranberry Almond Cereal or the Cinnamon Twists. Other than those, I can eat pretty much all of the other stuff that I've tried so far. I have a few things that I still never ate, the chili con carne, the beef chili or the turkey chili, I'm not a big chili fan unless it's homemade. I stopped eating the AT bars b/c of the gas they were giving me and I have 4 stupid boxes of those to try to get rid of!
