There was a great thread on the old board in which people listed their LEAST favorite Jenny foods. I just thought I'd create a new one since it was such an interesting thread and it doesn't seem to have survived the upgrade. It amazes me how some people hate some of my favorites and love some of the ones I hate!
Anyway, my LEAST favorite Jenny foods are:
The Tuna and Chicken Salad kits (Cat food kits!)
The Italian Wedding Soup
The Pesto Pizza (you can't put it in a toaster oven)
The Chicken Pasta Parmesan
The Ravioli (and I love ravioli, just not this one!)

For sure the salad kits.......ugggh
The canned soups are like garlic water
Swedish meatballs.......smell like dog food BUT the other foods are GREAT

I Love the Salad Kits and Pesto Pizza...
Dislike:
Chicken and Sausage Gumbo - Bland. Had to add salt.
Mac and Cheese - It was OK
Salmon - Too Sweet.
Swedish Meatballs - Didn't even taste, smelled really bad.
There are some shelf stable food I haven't tried yet and I am too afraid to even taste them.

I don't like the salad kids. I tried them on the first couple of weeks... but, no thank you.
Dessert wise - I've never been much for "cookies & cream" type things.. but that's just a matter of personal preference. I LOVE the chocolate cherry cheesecake though!
I've found I prefer the frozen meals to the shelf stable. Most of the foods are pretty good!

VEGETABLE & CHICKEN POTSTICKERS
CREAMY POTATO w/ROASTED GARLIC SOUP
JENNY'S CAESAR DRESSING
Although I do have a list of foods I would rather not order--these are the ones that I definitely would not be sad if they took them off the list.

I used to love to read this thread on the old boards...always good for a laugh...
The salad kits are DISGUSTING - cat food kits is right...
I also don't like the mac & cheese -which shocked me as I expected to like it...
I'm a little nervous now about the potato soup, wldgrl - I just ordered it for the first time! Uh oh! Someone posted a way to thicken it up with spinach and add some shredded (low fat ) cheese to it...maybe this will help??

I dislike the chicken and pasta parmesan...mushy and tasteless
swedish meatballs...yuck
chicken and beans
.
I agree with the other posters about the shelf stable foods too...kind of gross...I do like the turkey chili (dinner) and pour onto a large salad...add salsa and it's a delicious taco salad
I only started about a month ago and did some of the prepared menus to get a variety of the meals...but now I prefer to choose my own. Have a great week!!

I love the potato soup but I doctor is up a bit with some bac'n bits and hot sauce. I also like the mac and cheese.
I don't like probably all (I haven't tried them all but the ones I have tried, I've hated) the shelf stable foods but the one I couldn't even eat was the Sweet and Sour Chicken. I took one bite and couldn't force myself to take another. My husband wound up eating it (he's not on the program), he said it wasn't as bad as I was making it out to be but he definitely wouldn't eat it again. I also hate the "Italian" shelf stable foods, the tortellini, the ravioli, the chicken pasta parm...they all taste like Chef Boyardee. They really need to work on their pasta sauce! If a better sauce is unstable, make it a frozen dish. Or just put the sauce seperate from the pasta. I make my own sauce and it's plenty healthy so I would be more than willing to put my own on it. But then that wouldn't be following the program...oh well, maybe I should give them my recipe??

I have been on the program for a while....and I do re-visit dishes and try them different ways to find out if I really don't care for them. I have to say that I didn't like the potato soup the first time--but I DIDN'T add anything to it. I also didn't like the potstickers the first time--and didn't volumize that meal, either. Sometimes we just need to try it a different way.
My response related to my FIRST impressions of those meals. Our first impressions often keep us from retrying meals again. I have come upon many posters who have volumized those same meals and the more I read...I may try their recipes.
Please don't make an impression from the negative posts (including mine LOL). Generally, I like ALL the Jenny Craig meals--I like food!!!

After almost 4 weeks on JC, the only foods I don't like are the mexican chicken tortilla soup (too watery and spicy) and the Italian wedding soup (also very watered down), these are both bowl soups but the homestyle chicken soup in the box is awesome! The tuna salad kit I didn't like but the chicken salad is okay, especially if you put it on top of a salad of greens and tomatoes with dressing.
I am afraid to try the salisbury steak, it sounds gross to me, what does everyone else think?
The shelf foods so far have been very good ( and cheaper than the frozen too) I like the lentils w/ beef (very filling), I didn't mind the sweet and sour chicken. I chose the cheese tortellini thinking it was a frozen dinner and was shocked when I got home and saw it comes in a tiny little CAN?! But you'd be surprised how many tortellini they can shove in that can. a lot of sauce too, just wish I could have used some italian bread to eat it all up!

I toally agree with the shelf foods.....YUK and the tuna/chicken salad kits.....puleeeze. For the most part I only order the frozen items....much more tastier.
I also could not get down the salmon....threw it right out, and I love salmon.
My very favorites are the veg & chicken potstickers for dinner and the chicken enchiladas or burrito for lunch.
Yummy!
Great post.

I REALLY dislike the Swedish Meatballs - the only thing, in a month, I was unable to eat. I avoid the shelf foods - just seem gross to me.
My favorites are the chicken burrito, chicken enchiladas, turkey burger (with lettuce & tomato), meatloaf.

The vegetable noodle soup. In the paper carton-add boiling water. I ate it with my salad (all I had for lunch) but I was not impressed. Will not order again- there's too many other things I like!
But I AM trying everything at least once- to keep variety in menus!

any of the shelf stable food with tomato sauce (rotini w meatballs, chicken pasta parmeson, etc) because the pasta sauce tastes like undiluted tomato soup. The frozen tomato sauce in the lasagna and the canned tomato sauce in the spinach tortellini are good though so don't be afraid of them.
The personal pan and pesto pizza's have disappointed me. I can put a tablespoon of sauce and an ounce of cheese on a cracker.....yuck....definately not worth the price. The toppings don't even cover the pizza crust (or cracker). I do like the barbeque chicken pizza.
I liked the chicken potstickers the first few times I tried them but the last one I had was loaded with salt and has really turned me off if that particular meal. I know it was probably just another QC issue but still.....I couldn't eat it!
The rest of the food is great but don't be surprised if you get a meal that was shorted a bit. My first chicken mesquite had a tiny piece of chicken and my meatloaf was really a mini in the first meals I got but the last few have been nice sized.

I can't believe the old thread didn't make the upgrade. URGH!!!
Anyway, my all-time least favorite Jenny food is without a doubt the cat-food passing as tuna kits...YUCK!!!
The chicken salad kits are a close second.
Other than that:
Breakfast-Breakfast scramble
Lunch- Tuna/salad kits..nuff' said
Dinner- Potstickers with "tofu" on top masquerading as chicken...like the potstickers, but the tofu has got to go

The microwave pizzas taste way better if you let them defrost and then just cook them one minute. They actually taste close to pizza then.
I really haven't disliked anything yet except the potstickers. I love tofu but for some reason i got nauseated after eating that meal. Might have just been something else but I haven't ordered it again. I haven't tried any of the shelf stable meals except the chili con carne, which I like and the ravioli. The ravioli tasted like chef boyardee. I had the same problem when I tried Nutrisystem and what I used to do was spoon out a lot of sauce and added plain crushed tomatoes instead with a few herbs. Taste way better. Even still, It's probably my least favorite meal that I tried.
I like the turkey burger, meatloaf, mac and cheese (I add a little grated 2% sharp cracker barrel), salsbury steak. The meat is decent compared to what I thought it would be. It's so strange that some of you don't like them. My favorites are the sirloin with rice, turkey burger and mesquite chicken.

I am not a big fan of the breakfast scramble, salad kits, chicken and beans, that tortellini in a can, chicken pasta parmesan.

I said this in the old thread.. I can't believe so many people don't like the potstickers. That's one of my favorites!!! I went to PF Changs and tasted one of my husbands potstickers and I would soooo much rather JC's. He thought I was crazy.

I'm glad I came on here because thanks to some of you girls I will NOT be trying the tuna/cat food kits
I'm pretty scared !! hahaha There are still a few things I have not yet tried, but here's the ones I have.
My dislikes of the Jenny Cuisine are as follows :
Garden Vegetable soup -
couldn't eat it, tasted like vomitSwedish Meatballs -
ew . nothing swed about em :-/Beef sirloin w/ rice -
It's okay if you like tiny flat cubes of beef having been cooked all day in the sun on rocks .. gross !Chicken Pasta Parmesan -
it scares me . has a very funky tase . ickBest of luck to all on the Jenny program

When I started the program in June I quickly learned that I did not want any shelf stable food items...I did try a few and have kept a small stock of items just in case I want to shake things up a bit...
I also had thoughts about "emergency"food items...shelf stable foods...tornadoe alley here in Dallas...
I would not purchase the tuna kit...yuck...I have so blocked out the food choices that I don't care for that I couldn't even write them out...
As mentioned above personal preference will always be different person to person...the only true way to find out if you like or dislike a JC food item is to try it...
Good luck on your journey...
Thanks, one-of-a-kind

Like many of you, I wish I had some of this info when I first started. But I guess it is also a matter of personal taste.
I absolutely loath the tuna and salad kits....and dislike the shelf food. And I refuse to eat any of the "Italian" items with tomato sauce. But unlike some of I like more lunch options than dinner. I am really struggling with the dinner options and I
really only enjoy and look forward to is the fajitas. Based on some suggestions, I will try to liven up some entrees.... thanks

Agree with the turkey burger assessment-BLLLLECCCCHHHHH! Choked that one down today. NEVER again! My JCC says it's the most popular meal in the whole program. And the cat food salad kits are nasty like everyone says.
But I have to say, there are very few things I really hate. The Salisbury steak is actually ok-add some fresh mushrooms and it's even better. I even like the most of the shelf food, especially the beef stroganoff, which I hear is a seasonal item. The BBQ chicken and beans is yummy, too. The pizzas don't bother me at all.
Guess the answer is, it;s really a personal decision. Stay away from the cat food, and you'll be fine!

I'm not crazy about their Italian red sauce stuff in general either. Of course, I am half Sicilian and a foodie so I'm a tough audience. Then again I recently had the Lean Cuisine Spaghetti and Meat Sauce and I really liked it a lot. What a surprise! So it is possible. Something about the tofu in the penne pasta is not appetizing from my point of view. And the shelf stable stuff is yukky.

I just have to say that I am surprised at all the people who love the Salisbury Steak. I find the flavors bland and the sauce a bit gelatinous and pukey in consistency. And the potatoes are also bland and cardboard-like. I only like the meatloaf marginally better because of the barbecue flavor but the potatoes are similar. I loved the Sirloin Rice Bowl, though.

I went to my consultation today--the beef meals that I wanted: meatloaf and salisbury steak, I was told 'the warehouse was out of'. Also, the tortilla soup.
My least favorite menu item is the potstickers and the potato soup. I don't order any of the desserts since I am a 'salty/crunchy' gal. Not into the sweets but LOVE the salty/crunchy snacks.
Hope everyone had a good week--I was down 4 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS--I do like the "cat food kits" for convenience; I mix them with my salad green and other vegetables. Isn't as gastly. I think it has a lot to do with the reduced fat and added corn starch/sugar. I don't care for the reduced calorie fare.
I do love any of the Paul Newmans dressing--the sprays salad dressing are 10 calories for 10 sprays. Doesn't count as a fat but definitely adds flavor to an iceberg/veggie salad where you think you are eating something substantial.

Least favorite breakfasts are the muffins. I found the banana and bluebery muffins were a bit sticky. Too much like a dessert to me.
I don't like a lot of the shelf stable foods. I absolutely HATE the Pasta Fagioli! The only shelf stable foods I DO like are the Rotini with Meatballs and Ravioli.
I don't like the salad kits. They looked like cat food.
I've never been a big soup eater so I skip those.
I don't care for the Macaroni and Cheese. I have to have meat in my meal. I can't just eat macaroni.
Bruschetta Veggie Chips leave a disgusting taste in my mouth.

This was my first week on Jenny Craig. I loved almost all the food, but there were a couple of things I didn't care for.
I will not get the Mexican Tortilla Soup again. I can see how some people might like it, but it just didn't suit my taste.
I burned the Pesto Pizza in the microwave. I microwaved it according to instructions, but it burned. It got stuck to the silver stuff on the tray, and when I tried to get it off the try, the silver stuff came off with it, so I didn't eat it.

I love the Sunshine Sandwich for breakfast, that's my favorite. The other hot breakfasts are good too. I'm not so jazzed with the cereals -- they just don't seem to fill me like a hot breakfast does. I'm not a fan of soups for lunch for the same reason -- they just don't seem as filling. The frozen stuff is way better than the shelf stable, but I have to say that overall, JC food is really good. I'm pleasantly surprised. This is my first week on program and now I wonder what took me so long to find JC.

I am having trouble w/ the breakfast scramble but I've heard that adding salsa really makes a difference so I'll try that. The muffins were ok....the frosted oats, banana nut and triple grain cereals are great!
For lunch I love the pizza's! I have to add chicken tho (usually a meat left from breakfast) and spinich.
I did not care for the tortellini, the mac n cheese, turkey burger or the potato, or mesquite chicken.
for anyone new I would highly suggest checking out the recipe forum - fantastic ideas that really make some of the foods better!!

Breakfast worst...
...the WORST is the Breakfast Scramble. I'm not a potatoes in the a.m. person and there are just a TON of potatoes in that thing! I only had the Banana Nut Cereal one time. It tasted kinda funky to me ~ like that "old cooking oil" kind of taste...as if it might've been rancid. The package date was WELL within the limits so maybe it had a small tear in the packaging or something causing it to be really stale. I just haven't had the nerve to try it again, lol! I know this is supposed to be a "LEAST" thread but I can't be completely negative! (I LOVE the Sunshine Sandwich, Banana Nut Muffin, and MultiGrain Hoops.)
Lunch worst...
...no surprise, I agree with the masses! I DO have a couple cats and to tell you the truth, their little cans look much the same as mine but what's inside their cans actually looks much BETTER! And I'm not a fan of canned peaches at ALL. Spinach & Cheese Tortellini, Italian Wedding Soup, and Mexican Tortilla Soup complete this list. That's about it...everything else is really really good! (I LOVE the Chicken Gumbo Soup, the Southwest Burrito, Beef Chow Mein and the Enchiladas.)
Dinner worst...
Fish & Chips and Teriyaki Salmon (and normally I DO like fish). Pasta Fagioli, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Island Style Chicken are also on my not-too-favorite list. (I LOVE the Chicken Fettucine, Cashew Chicken, Mesquite Chicken & the Potstickers.)
Snacks worst...
hmmmm, lol...well they're ALL pretty good! If pressed, I'd have to say the Bruschetta Chips are okay, but just okay. Plus I really don't like them with salsa. The S'Mores bar is awesome but tiny. It just always tastes like S'more. (Sorry I couldn't resist.)
