I tried this lunch for the first time today. It was pretty good, but so small! Does anyone have advise on how to volumize it? I was still so hungry after eating it. I had a salad with it, but still was hungry. Any suggestions are appreciated.

This is one of my favorite lunches. Did you add 1 starch and 1 meat serving to your lunch? I usually have a slice or 1/ slice whole wheat bread with it and a piece of string cheese. There is so much sauce in the entree I wonder is adding some FREE steamed cauliflower, broccoli or squash would be good.I have thought about adding chicken strips to the entree for the meat serving. I agree it is a small lunch. If you didn't want to do the above suggestions, you could add the meat and starch serving to your salad.

Thanks, Go Browns! I didn't know that I needed to add a meat and starch. How did you know that? If it's on the can, I feel really dumb. I just opened the can and heated it. I guess adding the extra meat and starch would fill me up more. Thanks for the advise. Are there other JC meals where you have to add exchanges to it?

If you use the menu planner it will automatically add any extras that are needed with each particular food. The easiest way is to get a Personalized Menu Planner from your JCC. That's the fold out that list all the JC foods,
If something needs to be added it will list what and how much under that food item. If you are using the planned menu, it will be added/listed on the menu.
Here's the ones from the JCC Menu Planner
Lunches:
Broccoli & cheese potato-add 2 vegetable servings
Chili Con Carne- add 1 vegetable serving
Creamy Potato - add 1 starch and 1 meat serving
Garden Vegetable Soup- add 1 meat serving
Homestyle Chicken with Noodles add 1/2 starch and 1 meat serving

Dinners:
Chicken Fettuccine- add 1 vegetable serving
Fish & Chips- add 1 vegetable serving
Macaroni & Cheese- add 1/2 starch serving
Salisbury Steak- add 1 vegetable serving
Traditional Lasagna -add 1 vegetable serving
Beef with Mashed Potatoes- add 1 vegetable and 1 fat serving
Chicken Pasta Parmesan=add 1 vegetabladd 1 vegetable
Lentil with Beef- add 2 vegetable servings
Pasta Fagioli- add 1 starch serving
Sweet and sour chicken- add 1 vegetable and 1 fat serving
Turkey Chili- add 1 vegetable serving

I'm confused. I'm in my 4th week on JC and my JCC has NEVER told me to add anything to any of the foods I choose for my planned menu. And I've eaten a lot of the foods that have the little Add notes next to them on the menu planner. Is this something that will apply to me later or did my JCC make an error by not telling me. Holy cow, i hope this doesn't mean that I've been eating less than 1200 cals a day!
