Am I the only one who thinks that we ("we" as a general community, and I have certainly played my part) are being really hard on JC here? I know the website is buggy and that CLEARLY needs to be fixed. But...
My 2 cents is that it is at least on its way! I thought the old website was a joke. This one is at least starting to catch up to WW & MFD and the rest. I like the cool tracking graphs, and I could never find my way comfortably around the forum before.
Thank you, JC, for modernizing your stuff. I will look forward to seeing it all get ironed out a little more smoothly, and trust that at least *some* of our suggestions will be implemented.

I've GOT to agree! I really don't think these challenges are worth getting as "worked up" as people have...it's a website, for goodness sake, and it's getting resolved. Maybe not right this second, but I think we (again as a general community) can survive.

I think once we get used to it, the site has some really cool features that we didn't have before. To me, the worst part was the way they went about the transition, and didn't save all our old data. Yeah, the message on the main etools page did say that old messages wouldn't be retrieved but I think they could have posted some messages on the board itself warning people to get their stuff saved off so it wasn't all lost. I just have a hard time believing that old info isn't there somewhere on their server. They just don't wanna bother with it.
And the issues that some have had with not being able to login and/or post was unexcuseable. That should have been beta-tested before they went live. Or ran both boards simultaneously until they got the bugs out.

the site itself isnt all that awful, but for me the menu planner is pathetic, losing people's stats is inexcusable, not responding to anyone for a few days is just poor poor poor cusromer service. Having people create new logins was just icing on the cake. there are a few things I like, most of it actually, but my big issue is the lack customer service..... the web people just dont get it. That part I just can't get over.

YES!! Thank you Jackson! I don't like that I can't get answered either! Happy to give me attention when I'm handing over the credit card info only? Maybe we should head over to nutrisystems or ww forums until this is over.

I'm with you! i was a little curious so i checked out nutrisystem, their boards are pretty active, it looked like you could get an answer soon after posting.....we shall see...fingers are crossed things get better here

The website has possibilities, but the week long (and longer sometimes) trouble shooting was inexcusable. The loss of data was down right insulting.

I am all for progress and I like many things that the new site has to offer. However, losing that data was unforgiveable. It was the single tangible thing that showed how hard I have worked. My JC center didn't keep accurate records of a few WI's but I always had mine to show me what I was accomplishing and why I should keep working. I was fortunate that I did not lose my name too. I don't know if I would have continued with the program had that happened also. I am trying to piece stuff back together and work with the new site, but I have stuck to what I said about cutting back on spending. I have not bought Anytime bars, Protect Plus or any fitness items. I went to the Leslie Sansone website to get my newest workout video. Scales and pedometers will be purchased elsewhere when they previously were purchased at my JC center. I still buy my food as I don't want to hurt myself or my JCC as this is not her fault. I also feel that when I do not get what I pay for that I certainly will not pay more. I felt that the "apology letter" was weak and I still feel that the old site could be retrieved at least long enough for people to get messages, copy threads and prepare for a change. I have been successful on JC and cannot fault the program for a terrible web support dept. I do think though that if enough people limited their spending that there would be a better remedy than a lame letter.

I totally agree with Col2940. This changeover was a disaster and I am still disgruntled over not being able to log in from work because my company blocks applets that run on Javascript, thus losing my ability to post on this site during the day. Then to add insult to injury I can't get a reply from JC staff or tech support for love or money regarding that problem. They are more than willing to respond when I want to spend but won't supply the support that we paying members of JC deserve from a site like this. We support this company with our hard earned money and we deserve better than to be ignored and insulted.

Yes, it really is that awful. Terribly, terribly inconsiderate of the loyal users who previously invested a lot of time, emotion and effort in developing relationships with people on these boards and using the previous features as they were intended, storing their info on the site, only to have their info or access to info wiped out!
Really, its an unprecedented measure of lack of consideration for their best customers, many of them who have spent thousands of dollars on the program and enjoyed coming here and using the website only to have it yanked away, deleted, etc.
And if the new website had been a clear winner, well, one might eventually forgive and move on, but THIS? Tons of wasted space on the left and right margins of the screen making users scroll scroll scroll top to bottom all the time. Why all the blue space left and right? Why a big generic photo of people waving their arms in the air causing users to have to move past it to get to the reason they are here? They allowed amatuers to ruin the site by not maintaining CONTINUITY for their previous users.
I am not a "newbie." I am one of those who had to reregister since I can't seem to access my previous account, user name and months of info.
I have been a member for a while. And I just used the menu planner today for the first time (in planning next week's menu). Although it took a little longer than the previous planner with drop-down boxes, I liked it. It makes a nice menu at the end and I really like the food order/grocery list.
I thought it was cool. Yep, it takes a little longer---but still did the whole thing in under 4-5 minutes.

If I ignore the transition

...
-the new Forum is very much like many others I participate in. The features to find the most current posts & the assistant are good. I did not care for the old Forum at all. It was way too rudimentarty in functionality. I approve of this design as long as they keep working out the bugs.
-The Menu Planner: the first one was a pain in the bu-t-t to do. The 2nd and 3rd were a breeze if you start from the previous one you created. The printing has to be fixed. It doesn't provide much of any room to write in items. The grocery list is a nice concept but they needed to consider how we use it to order our food. The JC food items need to match up to the order sheet.
-I really haven't used much of anything else as I tried it under the old site design and found it horrible. I plan to try to use the new design in the hopes that it did get better.

I have no trouble printing it at all. Actually, it fits the page MUCH better than the old site menu did. Maybe it's your computer...
I agree - I like the new menu planner. It takes a few extra minutes, but I feel like I'm able to track my food much better than before. On the old menu planner, it wouldn't add what extra food I needed UNLESS I printed it. Now, I can see it clearly on the screeen.
Sorry for the trouble some of you are having. I'm very thankful that it seems to be working quite well on my computer.

I was able to print the menu planner just fine. I never saw the old version as I just started but the menu planner now isn't all bad. What I found was that when you choose a menu item where you have to add a vegetable to your meal, it forces the next day's meal into the following day because the word "vegetable" is too long for the box. What I did to fix that was to change the vegetable phrase to carrot (or whatever, as long as it's shorter) and the meals evened themselves out again. Other than that and the fact that it takes a while to do, I didn't have any problem with it. Just my two cents!

oh wait, I do have a problem...I'm on the 1700 calorie diet and I can't remove the additions for the 2000 calorie diet since they use the same menu. When I print it out, I just cross them out, it would be nice to just hit delete and have them be gone. Ok, you got me there.
I did print it already, it's ready for my appt. next week. Again, worked great for me.

Sarah in SC - I initially thought it might be my computer causing the printing issues too - but after trying with a PC, a Mac, 3 different operating systems and 2 different printers, I decided it wasn't my computer. There are posts on the menu planner forum with others describing printing problems too. From what I have read the closest to successfully printing it still gets you the menus split over 2 pages, which is not practical. When I print something I want it functional.
glad it is working out for some of you. I am still hoping they will actually fix it and make it more user friendly for the rest of us.
It is very disheartening.

I agree with you as well. The bugs are annoying but.........some people are posting in such a way that I think they are gonna have a heart attack or their blood pressure will go sky high. We just need to be patient and focus on the main goal here: which is weight loss and healthy eating for life!

I will quit complaining once they give me my Weight Tracker information back. I logged my progress on the J/C website weekly and had no other record of my weekly progress. Now I feel lost.
By the way, what letter are you guys talking about? I don't think I've seen it. I keep emailing Jenny Craig Technical Support and have yet to get any response what so ever. I don't like being blown off. Its just plain rude.

theretrochick, the old message board has been uploaded for the last few days. If you had your weight tracked in your signature, you should be able to go back and get it.

luv2clog, thanks for the information and the link. It was nice of them to put the old message board up.... unfortunately, I wasn't tracking my progress through my signature or that would have taken care of everything. Bummer... I hope they are still working on getting the old information back in order.
