I am from Strasburg which is on the Eastern Plains, but I work in Denver and my JC Center is in Aurora :-)
Where are you from? How are you doing on the program? I had my 1 month weigh-in today. I have lost 10.4 lbs and 7.75 Inches!! Not so excited about the pounds seem like I could do better, but the inches are incredible!

I live in Lakewood just between Denver and the foothills.
The program is going well for me... I really like it a lot. I just had my one-month weigh in on Saturday and I am down 15.4 pounds and 5.5 inches!
Are you kidding me? You should be psyched about the 10.4 pounds... that is a LOT! You are so right about the inches, my goodness, that is amazing! Wow.

Hi, there. I'm in Denver (Capital Hill) and go to the Lakewood centre. I have been on JC since mid October. I am hovering right above my halfway weight - currently at 20 pounds lost and 11.75 inches lost. I initially set my goal weight at 135 but am now thinking that 140 may suffice. I have been struggling the last couple of weeks - it was really easy at first to stay on track but I think I am getting discouraged. Not sure why - the program totally works! I just need to keep my motivation up and stay on track!!!!
It is great to find people in Colorado on JC so I hope we can all chat on this board some more. I finally was able to post again - it has not worked for me since the new site went up.
Good luck to both of you - sounds like your journeys are going very well too! Keep it up!

PS- Your weight loss reports are very inspiring! I've got 75 pounds to lose- I could use all the support I can get. I'm fighting a life threatening illness- so I can't always get to the center, but I am glad for this board. I've got to say I feel at home already!

Welcome Lisa!
As you can see I am fairly new on this journey myself, and have a long way to go! I feel that this the time, I have lost 50 pounds on different programs 2 different times and bounced back higher each time. This time I feel that I can do it with all the help offered.
I am so glad that these boards are here! I have such GREAT support with my family and work associates, but no one that has actually been where I am and can understand the journey quite the same way.

I think these boards really bring people on the same journey together. My friends (for the most part) and definitely my family are very supportive but don't always understand the temptations or frustrations. So, that's why I am thankful for these boards and also my JCC. She is awesome.

Oh my goodness - yes, it totally is! My opinion is that the shelf stable items are not as good (in general) as the frozen items. A big exception is the chili, though. It is delicious. And the canned pasta is okay. All of the pizzas, the frozen pasta entrees and the frozen breakfasts are truly good. Not good for diet food, but actually good enough to want to eat, diet or not.
I personally LOVE the chocolate cake. That's my favorite dessert. The BBQ pizza is delicious. I add sauteed mushrooms and zucchini and some red pepper flakes to the chicken fettucini and it is YUMMY! Also, most of the foods can be bulked up with veggies - like the breakfast scramble, the pastas, the chili, or even the pizzas. The cereals are good too but my favorite breakfasts are the hot ones.
I think you will find that you have no problem eating the food. The only things I have not liked at all are the soups. Some people love them, but I personally think they are yucky. But, everyone's palate is different.
So many of my co-workers are jealous of my food!!!

It is really funny.
Anyway, I could swoon over the food for a while, but I'll stop here! I know you will be pleasantly surprised with the quality.
Good luck - it is exciting to start this program. You will definitely see results!

Hi all! I just started JC today! I have to say, I have only had my breakfast so far (blueberry muffin) but it is really good! I felt like I was eating a muffin from the bakery! I hope the rest of the food is as good. I have given myself a goal of 40 pounds. I can't wait to get down to that weight! It's what I weighed before I had my daughter. Hopefully I can meet some people here to help keep me motivated. I am in Grand Junction so if there is anyone here who wants to walk, hike, whatever - let me know. I'm not much of a gym person so this should be fun!

I'm glad about that. I've been doing this for two days and am wondering what to do about feeling hungry all the time. I know it goes away after awhile, but what do I do in the mean time? I can only eat so many apples in one day! Maybe I just need to review my free foods list again!

Thank you Fourclownsmom! Great job on the 2.2lbs! Thank goodness I have not seen the GS cookies. My down fall is the candy at work. During my first week I broke down 3 times and still lost 2 lbs. This week has been much better, I have stuck to the JC foods and I have explored the "free" foods more. Have a great week!

My name is Caroline, I live in Highlands Ranch or some prefer Littleton. I started JC on 1/28/08. I've lost about eight lbs so far. I really like the food except the bowl soups, not so great. The first week I was still hungry after I ate the JC food and I did not stray from the menu

I am ending my 3rd week and I find that I am having a little problem finishing the days menu, I am just not hungry. Anyone else go thru that?

I'm new to CO (Lakewood) and to Jenny Craig. I had my 1 week weigh in today, and was amazed that I lost 4 lbs in my first week, I'm sure that won't continue but it's a good start. After feeling hungry the first couple of days, I went to the store and bought every single free food on the list that I like, and that really helped. I made my salads way more interesting, and sugar free Jello is wonderful if you have a craving for sweets, only 10 calories! Good luck everyone

Caroline- I started on Jan 9 and did find that getting use to the food the first two weeks or so was an adjustment. I was really hungry some times of the day and did not want to eat all my food others. I also had problems with my body just adjusting to actually eating healthy. My skin was terrible and my body systems were really off. About the one month point everything seemed to even out and now I find it a bit of a challenge to make sure I am eating everything on the plan. I can really see more inches coming off than pounds, which is fine with me! I am wearing a sweater today that I have not worn in two years! :-)

I have noticed my skin clearing up, just about everything I ate was sugar and carbs before JC. I am feeling so much better now. I have lost about 10 lbs in the last 3 weeks and my pants are about to fall off. It feels great to get back into the old smaller sizes.

Ok, I go in for my first weigh in today. According to my scale, I have lost 5.4 pounds. I have cheated a little on my foods, but have tried to make up for it by not eating the dessert or snacks. On Saturday, I ate the breakfast, at a plain grilled chicken pattie without the bread plus a parfet from mcdonalds for lunch and a steak with salad for dinner. On Sunday we went out of town and I had a half of a sausage personal pizza (it was 7") for dinner. Hopefully the scale at the JC office reads the same as mine. I'm pretty nervous. I don't want to shower yet because I don't want my wet hair to weigh me down (don't like to blow-dry), I don't want to eat because I don't want that food to weigh me down. Basically, I want to go in NEKKIE! That probably wouldn't be a good thing, though, right?

So, wish me luck! I'm gonna need it! I feel so nervous!

Hi everyone! I'm from Lakewood as well. I've been on the program for a while now (third time's the charm), but I seem to go up-and-down in the motivation level. I think it is important to have someone who understands the whole weight loss process while understanding that this is not just about the pounds but finding a new self along the way. If you have any suggestions on things to do around town, please let me know. I love walking around the lakes, but I sometimes have knee trouble. I haven't been to my gym in ages. If you would like a buddy or a simply someone to share success with please let me know. I could also use someone to keep me from finding excuses not to get the exercise I planned on getting.
Have a great evening!

Finished my 3rd week and I am feeling great already! Boy do I miss my margaritas, chips & salsa from OTB. In a couple of weeks I just might have to have some but in moderation.
Does anyone have cravings for salty foods? I do, and I am not sure what to do about it. JC counselor says it is either too much water or not enough. I do drink 8-10 glasses a day. Help, if you can?
Thank you, Kel

Hi Kel. Boy, do I crave salt!!! My Consultant recommended the "saltier" snacks - cheese curls, popcorn and bruchetta chips. They do the trick most of the time. I even try to bring my salty snack with me to work as the late afternoon is the time that I am most tempted by the candy machine (it has a wonderful selection of chips, much to my chagrin!). Hope this helps.

Hello Ladies,
My name is Becca and I started with JC on Feb. 23. I am terrified on my 3rd weigh in at the Aurora center on Friday - largely because last week (my birthday week and 2nd week on JC) the scale went the wrong way. I gave in to celebrate on my own because well - things as they are with my family - there really wasn't much celebration. I am determined this week to make those 2 extra lbs go away and be back on the winning track.
I've done so much better the last 3 days - oh crap 3 days - the 3rd day is always the one when I seem to loose my nerve - well I'm here instead and I'd like to catch up on this thread.
But any advice for someone who is skittish about the whole thing?
Thanks

Hi Becca
Don't worry too much about the weight gain, some of us may slip every once in a while. Keep to the diet as best you can and especially the exercise and you'll do fine. I find that going in for the weigh-ins makes me more accountable for my actions and if it wasn't for the counselors I would have given up a long time ago.
I wish you the best.

Hi all,
Checking in with an invitation for anyone on the Western Slope to join with me in forming a hiking group. Would love to have a couple of folks who are looking to hike some of these wonderful canyons and hiking trails throughout this area. My DH and I do this with regularity now and it sure is making a difference in our weight. He's down 10 pounds and mine is as below.
Keep up the good work everyone!

Hey,
I know that no one has written in this thread for a while, but I figured some one has to bring it back up. I'm from the Highlands Ranch area. I'm curious if anyone can tell me about some nice trails and hiking areas. (I feel silly asking this because I've lived here my whole life, but I guess if I don't ask I'll never know!)
Thanks!
P.S.I know Colorado is supposed to be the fittest state in the country, does this depress/motivate anyone else? It depends on my mind frame, but it has both effects on me.

I don't know about CO being the fittest state as I live in on the Western Slope and there are plenty of heavy people.....me included! I think there are areas of CO that are pretty fit such as Boulder. Be that as it may...
there's a website called MapMyWalk.com that has a lot of hikes and walks already mapped. Perhaps there are some for your area. Check it out!

Hey everyone. Im Angela and I live in Edwards which is just a little bit west of Vail. I started doing JC a couple of weeks ago through Jenny Direct. Well the shipping cost was horrible so now im going to be driving to Lakewood once a month to get my food. I love going to Denver anyway so the 1 1/2 hour drive is not a big deal.
It sounds like so many of you have been doing great!!!! Congrats!!!! I lost 6 lbs my first week but then went to California wine country for my second week and gained it all back. Oh well, im just getting back on it and will do better now that im home.
I would love to go hiking with anyone elso who is interested. We have some great hiking areas here but I am also happy to drive somewhere else too.
Good luck in the rest of the week!!!

Hi Everyone!
How is everyone doing? I weigh in Wednesday for my 5th week. At my one month weigh in I was up 0.6 lbs from the previous week (PMS... arrgg) which puts me at a 6.2 lb weight loss for the first month. I was really hoping for more. I'm trying to stay patient with myself though. I've been working out a LOT and really intensely, including strength building several times a week, so I'm sure I'm gaining muscle weight. But it's still difficult to look at the scale and not see as much difference as I've hoped for. At the same time, I lost 9 inches for the first month!! Has anyone else lost more inches than they have lbs?? I keep wondering if my jeans were holding it all in or if I was measuring in the same spot as the first time.

I've followed the plan to the letter. The only time in a month that I strayed was to have a glass of wine (ok, 2 glasses, but I skipped a JC meal to do it

) with my husband to celebrate my nine inch loss!

Hello, I just joined on Friday May 30, I am finding I am too full. I was wondering if anyone else has had that experience? I called the center and they said I could eat some of the food together, rather than eating every two hours, and do fruit juice instead of fruit, that helps some, but do I miss crunchy food! The brushetta chips help. Anyone else have that problem? Salad just doesn't cut it like a good Dorito! I live in Brighton, Colorado.

Hi!
I'm a crunchy food lover, too! Their cheesy curls are good for that (and they taste pretty good too!), also the Jenny's Personal Pizza - if you oven bake it it's got a great crispy crust. I try to keep crunchy veggies on hand like carrots or celery for those times when I've GOT to have something crunchy. I haven't tried it yet, but I hear the honey oat bars are good crunchers too - so just save them for a snack instead of part of your breakfast. Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks for the tips. I have tried those oat bars, they are good, I just ordered more. Also those brushetta chips are pretty good. Do you get incorrect e-mails? I just started week four on Friday and I am receiving week 6 stuff from Jenny Craig. I keep having to remind myself I am only in my fourth week, I get discouraged I haven't lost more. Does anyone else have that? I have only lost 7.6 pounds, which I guess in on track for 4 weeks, but not 6!
Oh, and I figured out, for all of the BBQs this summer, if I sneak the Turkey Burger in, and slip away to heat it up in the microwave, no one even notices I am not having a burger with them! So far I haven't told anyone but my husband I am doing this, I am hoping people will start noticing !?
I started walking at the Rec Center, I do have more energy. That part is really nice! Anyone live in Thornton/Brighton?
