Hey ladies - looks like we got the new website but all the recent posts are gone, so lets get this tall party started again!
No Super Bowl party so no food problems there. Took my daughters to see Alvin and the Chipmonks and only ate a little of their popcorn - I actually brought my JC popcorn in my purse.
Looking forward to hearing from everybody and getting some new tall ladies too!

Hi Lisa!
I'm so bummed, all my history is gone and I cannot log in as my prior self. So I spent the morning "recreating" myself as a new user AKA Carrie in DE.
BUMMER
No Super Bowl party for me. But I did have my Jenny's Rising Crust Pizza for dinner, which seemed like a treat. And I ate my cheesecake frozen so that it would seem more like Ice cream!!!

Hello Ladies..
Well, I am new to this board. I turned 40 in Nov. 2007 and decided that I was no longer going to be out of shape and overweight. I joined Jenny on Nov 26, 2007 and have lost 16 lbs so far....yippee! I hope to get to know some of you ladies over the next couple of months so we can offer each other some support!

Welcome to new and returning Tall Women!
I had my w/i today and I went over 15 pounds! I lost 2.8 today - that was a shock. I made chocolate chip cookies (well, baked them because I LOVE cookie dough so bought frozen dough, otherwise would eat the dough as I am making them....) and since it was with semi sweet chocolate, thought I would be fine - WRONG! I ate 5 of them! WE had our family Bible study that night and the rest were taken for treats. So, I need to stay away from that temptation for a while. At least it was on my w/i day, and I was much more careful and worked out 4 times this week.
I got the sculpting bar and did the 4 workouts - I really enjoyed them. Also go to a health club and next week am learning the weights equipment. That should be really good for the metabolism.
Now I am excited to get to 20 lbs.!

Hello tall ladies!!! Just checking in with my Wi down -1.6lbs. yes, I am so happy that I have this loss...This is going to kick jump my program...yes, I am backkkkkk...
Jessie123, of course you are welcome...5'8" is a tall women...we had a quite a few topics on the earlier start of this thread to bad we did not copy the thread and simply did a paste...we had lots of information and funny things that we talked about...we can start again...
I did read my real estate chapter one tonight and will refresh myself with chapter 2, 3, and 20...my first test will be in about two weeks...no stressing out...ok...breathe...breathe...it's only one test...what is so scary is that we only have two tests and one final exam...if we need the help with our grade the instructor said he would give us extra credit projects to bring up the grade...
I will close for now...

Hello ladies!
I am back in this forum for the first time since the site changed. I have had to change my sign in a couple of times, so I hope that this one will stick!
I hope that all of you are doing well. This past weekend was full of activities (and food that I normally don't eat anymore), so I will be doing damage control between now and my next weigh-in on Saturday. My objective is to make it to Onederland by the end of the week and reach halfway by the end of the month (right now I am 4 pounds away from halfway). I know that I can do this as long as I stay on task.
Here's to a great week for each one of you.

hi, all
I was SuzieC on the other site - the rollover took me back to the name I only used the first week on the site.
I haven't had a great week - skipped my apt last Friday because I was so mad about the menu planner - I used it every week and always printed a hard copy to carry with me. I am on my way to the centre to pick up blank copies and will do a weigh in tomorrow - can't let someone else's stupidity rule my world!! There is always a solution so I will make it work somehow. Will let you know how it goes. Glad we are going again with this thread!
Sue
PS Happy Valentine's day all!!

SuzieC, Hi and welcome back home...I went for my Wi and dropped -1.2 lbs...I wanted to be in the 60's, but with next weeks Wi I should be there!!!
I will pledge 5.lbs for St. Patricks Day Challenge and see if I can keep up the current mind set...the renewal of my desire to be at goal by June 27th, 2008...I have 12.4 lbs to go...
I went to the gym for a hot-tub and a nice hot shower so I could walk the city for 40-mins and I then went in my garage for the bike for 20-mins...I hope to get to the ballet class tomorrow at 1pm...I need to up the cardio and see more improvement in the toning of my body...ballet usually always kicks my bu**..
I hope everyone has a great weekend...

Hi, my weight stayed the same - which is OK because I didn't eat JC food all week. Using the hand written copy is working OK and I may try the excel menu planner that was posted in one of the other forums until they resolve the menu planner problems.
Went to my spinning class this morning and had a great class - the instructor has bronchitis so couldn't to a full- out ride. She had someone else ride at the front of the class and sat giving directions on the bike next to mine in the back row. If you want to be inspired to put everything you can into your class have the instructor next to you

I'm actually thinking of moving to the front row next week to be under 'scruntiny' again!
I'm taking a class on culture and cuisine and doing a group project on Ethopia. So my afternoon is going to be spent making some of their dishes. Went to an Ethiopian restaurant Monday night to try it - and loved it! Anyone who loves spice would really enjoy it. The injera bread has to rise for 3 days, and apparently it takes some practice to make it correctly, so this could be quite the cooking adventure - wish me luck!
Well off to the kitchen - have a great weekend all

SuzeC, how did the bread making go?...It was good to hear that you are maintaining and not gaining that is fantastic...This is how we are going to have to impliment this into a lifestyle change and it sounds like you are right on target...
I like the idea of your studying a new culture and cooking their meals....yummy...yummy...Good luck in the menu planning...I have faith you are doing a fantastic job...
Yes, nothing like being in the first row of class, one does get more hints on how to work out properly...good for you!!! I bet you will be at your next spin class first in line and in the first row...
I am getting ready at the moment to take off for the gym...

Hello ladies, I went to the Chiropractor today and I feel better...
Tomorrow I am off to the dentist, a normal visist...nothing wrong...routine cleaning...
I will try and get to my sister and help her look for a new apartment, one that has a washer/dryer hookup...she has back pain and it would free up time and energy for both her and I...
I had my first exam in my re class and I think I did ok, maybe 5-7 wrong out of 50 test questions...
I hope everyone is doing fine...

Yahoo! I just did my w/i and I am so goofy. I was nervous and I got on and closed my eyes, waiting for the beep. Then I slowly looked down and I was down (that was a huge relief), and thought Yay!! I lost 2.2 pounds. I was smiling and very happy. Then I was adding up the pounds and kept coming up with the wrong total. I figured from last week I was at 18 down now, but the beginning weight to current came up to 19. (Yes, this is really important stuff.....) Anyway, I came down stairs and logged in, put in my weight and discovered that last weeks weight was 268, not 267.. . What a fun surprise!
Christine - good luck on your tests. Chiropractor treatment sounds good. I need to do that.

Hi ladies, I had a gain this week and it was a stress related gain...
This is a new week and I will adhere to the plan to keep the snacks under control...this is my downfall, once I have one I want more...so this is my trigger and I need to avoid or plan one day a week for the snack or simply have the snack before the gym...I need to change up the routine with the snacks...
FabLisa, ***WTG -2.2lbs.gone.for.good*** This is fantastic!!! It feels so good to have a nice drop...this gives a lift in your step...doesn't it?...
I have been gone from Chicago for 26-winters-seasons...I don't think I could go back!!! Glad that it is warming up for you in MN...
A31Woman, ***Congratulations on getting two goals in one week!!!*** Onederland and HalfWay!!! You must be floating on cloud nine!!! I am happy for you, now those feelings will help keep you on the journey towards your ultimate goal weight...one day at a time and one meal at a time!!!
I will close for now off to the gym...

Christine - I agree on the snacks... I will have one, then another, then I can just lose control! I baked some cookie dough a few weeks ago for our couples Bible study, and thought I would be fine since they have semi sweet chocolate, and I prefer milk choc. Well, I ate one cookie, then another, and another and..... Fortunately, there were some to bring to the meeting! And I made sure that NONE came home.
I guess it is one day at a time, and it does help to work out because after I work out, I don't like to think of having my hard work go to eating the calories back!
We will do it and you are really close to goal - wow!

FabLisa,
I know that those snacks are getting the better of me..
I have class tonight and I need to read a chapter...just doing a drive-by...Thanks for letting me know that I am not alone in this department...
I will cross my fingers that we can over ride the snack attacks...it is a difficult one for me...
I heard of a book that was named Good Calories, Bad Calories, and the author was claiming that people do get that snack attacks from the ingredients (calories, sugar?)
so I will find a plan and apply it to my journey...it really is a journey, learning more about myself and starting to live the best life possible...in the most healthy way possible!!!

Hi ladies -
I had my w/i today - a day early, and I lost 2! That means I am at 21 now. What a good feeling!
My husband even is planning when I will hit goal (you can't, but he's excited about it and my progress so far), and he is talking about us celebrating on a tropical island some where. Yehaw!!!! He hasn't seen me at my lowest but has seen me in a picture. Now I really have a great goal to work for! He is not one to suggest trips - we have been through some rough financial years, but hopefully are more stable. I will be working more now!

This is fantastic news...a tropical vacation!!! Now that is a goal, getting more slim and going away for a vacation with the new healthy you!!! Will you be taking a vacation in the winter months next year?...or does DH want to go away to florida now March...April....May?
This is awesome that he is so happy for you!!!
I am getting ready to get on the bike for a 20-min run...I finished my 1-hour walk earlier this evening...I have been walking longer lately...but, yes, I have had those extra calories this week so I need to work off the damage...
Today is my Wi and I already know that it is not going to be reflecting a pretty picture for me...I do feel my waist and my tummy are larger this week...to many snacks...to much food off plan...
I am back to reality and it is a re-focus effort for the up coming week...

Christine, how did your w/i go? It's funny what you said about feeling your tummy being fuller. I will feel fuller and feel like I just gained back 20 lbs overnight - which I Hope can't happen!!! My goal for this week is to get back on track too! I have been very lax about my food, plus it was my daughter's birthday and so it has been busy. I was very smart on one thing - I chose to buy her a cake instead of make one. I love to bake and it is fun decorating cakes, but I LOVE my frosting - real buttercream and I eat quite a bit when I frost cakes, SO I couldn't take the chance. Last night our Sunday school class had a chili bake off and I did cooking for that. My chili won best beef chili and my cake for best dessert. Good to have events to take things to so I can still have fun with one of my favorite hobbies.
Stay focused!

FabLisa, ***Congratulations on getting best chili award and best dessert!!!*** Yes it is nice to take the lovely food to special events...
Your birthday cakes sound like they were very tasty to make and eat...good thing you chose to limit the chances of extra frosting ending up on your plate...good choice that you bought her a birthday cake less temptation for you!!!
I know I have gained and my mind played a trickon me and I chose not to go to my Wi...I know that I gained because my waist and tummy are bigger and I can feel it...I am scared to go...
I will get refocused and push through this phase...I must...It will be a year on June 27th, 2008...I gave myself a year to get to goal...I don't know if that is helping me or hurting me?...Goal in the weight department?...Is is good or not?...I do know it has taken me more than a year to gain the weight and it will take time to adjust to the dropping of the weight and incorporating healthier eating habits...why does it have to be so hard?...
I thank you for being here, and I know I am not alone on this journey...one day at a time...I am doing this and it can be done...

I am on Jenny Direct, so I unless I don't answer the phone, I have the w/i. but I also do it in the morning, right before my shower, so should be my lowest for the day.
I am stress eating and need to get a grip. My husband is in a new job and its not real stable. A start up company and they are still waiting for the investor's $$. Well, we usually get paid by the 3rd, and get an email a few days before that to confirm the $$ is coming and totals, like a pay stub. Well, no email or money yet, and our account was overdrawn.... I better get out the water and fruit and veggies and a skinny picture to motivate me, and pray. His supervisor was on vacation so he didn't sign the time card but came back so I am hoping it comes tonight or tomorrow! But eating won't bring the money any quicker and then it gives me more to stress about so....

FabLisa, I am so sorry about the new job for hubby...I can so relate to what you are talking about...the finances are my killer...I like to hide in my snacks...good thinking on your part...the food is not going to solve the banking issue...
I know that my hubby is stressing me left and right with "I don't have any money"...well get some...I use the credit cards for grocery shopping, gas in the car, cvs pharmacy for rx, pet food shopping, and purchasing vitamins online and oh Jenny Craig food...
I try and get hubby to pay the min plus the finance charge and what ever was charged for the month and try and add 50.00 to the balance...he is driving me crazy with "pay only the min"...how does he expect the balances to be low or even zero...he is 65yrs. and has never had to go on a budget, so I don't know how this is going to all work out...but I will be bringing in a tiny bit of money hopefully by the month of May...this will help with some of the cc balances...7 cards...
Yes, I love the fact that you have acknowledged the stress and what causes us to eat...stress...this is something I am going to have to really get a grip on too...you are not alone...thanks for sharing...and being honest...

Thanks one-of-a kind! The $$ just came in! I am smiling from ear to ear! One of the tellers at our bank said to call the manager and they might even refund our overdrafts since it wasn't our fault. What a relief - that just hangs over your head.
More good news, I am down this week. That was a surprise, but I guess I wasn't as "bad" as I thought I was. Yes, I chose some things that weren't on program, BUT, I limited the quantity and before Jenny, I probably would have eaten much more - so victories all around!
I interviewed for a job as a dental receptionist - I love the staff there and office. I would be getting free dental for me and my family, plus sick time, vacation, and 401k! This if for part time - 26 hours a week. Say a prayer for me!

So how is everybody doing? I have been so busy and haven't made it to the gym as much as normal, but now my big event is over - had a special for our ladies Bible study yesterday - and now I can get back on track. I am up right now, so have to work hard this week - hopefully will maintain - I was aiming to hit 25 this week, but didn't work to hit 25 - got lazy!
We hit 40 above zero! yesterday. But still working out inside. Lots of melting going on, but a friend was out walking with his wife and he fell on some ice and broke his foot in 3 places.... I am looking forward to outside fresh air instead of the sweaty air at the gym.
I also just purchased Leslie Sansone's walking dvd. That way if I can't get to the club, I have no excuse not to still move. My daughters would probably love to do it with me!

So sorry to hear about your friends foot being broken in three parts...that is a serious fall on some ice!!! I do remember falling a few times myself while I lived in the Chicagoland area...don't miss that ice...

One-of-a-kind - I was so happy no girl scouts live in our neighborhood anymore! I love the cookies and I did not go near the areas where they were selling at the stores. One good thing is that they are not cheap and you don't get very many in the package!
I finally got one week to input for a menu and then quickly saved it. When I started another week, it froze up after 3 meals. But I printed out the menu and posted it to start today. I got away from following it throughout the day, and I need to follow it! So this week should be much better - plus no meals out that I know of. My girls have to stay after church tomorrow for choir practice because we have a all church rolller skating party that night, so if my husband and I go out for lunch while we wait for them to finish, we will probably do Applebee's and they have a Weight Watchers menu which does help.
On to a better week for you and I and everybody else in the Tall group.

Hi ladies,
I just wanted to let you know that I am still around. I hit a bit of a plateau after reaching Halfway, so I have been laying low. Also, my schedule has been hectic, so I have slacked off a bit on my exercise.
However, I am still determined to reach my goal. Just this morning, I had to remind myself why I started this journey in the first place. I am not only trying to be "cute", I also need to do this to be healthy, which is even more important. I have recommitted myself to lose my last 30 pounds and I will need you guys to help me stay motivated.

A31Woman - Welcome back! I know it gets busy, but don't let the plateau's keep you from the boards - we miss you! Plus staying in contact may help you work past it.
One-of-a-Kind - Ended up not going out for lunch - hubby was tired and wanted to go home. The girls had a blast at the roller rink. I used to skate, but not well. I was tempted to try the skates, but I want to lose more weight and strengthen my muscles, etc. before I try. Can't afford to have a broken bone! I did try ice skating - used to love it - and it was not good. I had to hang on all around the rink.
I just bought a Leslie Sansone walking dvd - and it was a good work out! Plus today we got about 5 inches of snow, so I shoveled the driveway - its not big, but the snow is that really wet heavy stuff so I think I got a bit of a work out....
have to go pick up my daughter from band - keep posting!!!

A31Woman, I am 41 and 231 pounds right now.....where you used to be. I am looking forward to being in the ones again.......I just started back on JC today (doing Direct this time). All of you ladies are doing so well.......I was on JC many years ago, did well, and lost weight. Once I moved South, I stopped doing it and gained so much weight. I know it's time, and I'm ready.

Yay! Two milestones today! I am now out of the 260's! and I have lost 25.6 pounds since December. This is so exciting for me. After I weighed myself (on direct) I was dancing around the house! I am moving a bit faster - still can't change pants size - have to get rid of more fat in the front, but they are looser in the hips so there are changes. I guess its cardio cardio cario to burn off that fat.

I am getting ready to run out the door to get on the elliptical for at least 20-mins...that would be nice in addition to my 60-min walk in the city...

Hi Tall Friends,
I think I started this group before the big website makeover. I'm glad to see it started up again here. You might remember that my Saturday trainer was diagnosed with colon cancer. Well, after both of us being out of the gym for the past two months we got back together this morning. It was 90 minutes of grinning and sweating. I have a lot of work to do as I've gained back half of what I originally lost but I'm READY!
Looking forward to posting often and seeing how you're all doing too.

Welcome back Annie! I need to get back over the the gym. Hope your trainer is doing better. My dad had colon cancer and is doing good now. Chemo was so hard on him - he didn't lose his hair, but was super sesitive to cold and his feet and hands were really affected.
It has been busy and some stressful things going on, but hate to start gaining now. I had a -0- loss this week. Eating out opportunities just keep coming up! Mostly try to make good choices. I just got dropped to 1500 calories. Hopefully that gets things moving some more! I was looking forward to getting outside and walking, but we just got 9 more inches of snow yesterday. It was truly beautiful outside - fresh white snow and very sunny today. Good part about this time of year is that it will be gone soon.

One-of-a-kind: Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!! I hope that you have a great one!
I have been real busy with work, etc., but I am still around and still losing (slowly). It's going to be warm this weekend, here in the Detroit area, so I plan to get OUTSIDE and get some exercise. I go to the gym, but I really love walking outside in the sunshine. I know that the change in weather is just the boost that I need to get my weight loss on the fast track again.
On another note, my loss thus far has allowed me to fit back into some of my old favorite clothing. The jeans that I could barely fit into back in December are now getting too big! Yeah!!

I am looking forward to buying some nice cute clothes this summer.
Well, I will be weighing in again tomorrow morning, so I will check in sometime after that.
Keep up the GREAT work ladies!

one-of-a-kind - Happy Birthday!! Hope its a great day and year to come! It has to be - losing all that weight is always great.
I was so excited because I was able to put on an old pair of pants, until I saw what they look like on me! They are the pleated khakis with tapered cuffed bottoms. They were so baggy around my hips from the pleated area so they are gone. I do know from "What not to wear" that the style is not good for me!
I'm not seeing big changes on my front, but my rear is looking better
We hit 59 degrees today and it is so nice to be outside. I have been busy cleaning and tossing and donating at home so I'm working, but not going walking or to gym, but will soon. Plus, that is a good way to burn calories and the house is looking better. A couple of pairs of pants that are too big hit the donate bag, along with all my winter sweaters that were already generous in size. I don't want anything large once I am out of that size. No way do I want it do be easy to gain back any weight!
Enjoy the weekend!

Well, I'm checking in. I had another busy week at home, but with that am not snacking as much, so I hit 30 lbs. gone!
I am so happy with how my house is looking. So much easier to pick up when there isn't other stuff laying around.. Still have to find places for little things that don't have a place.
One of a kind - that pot roast sounds so yummy!!!

one of a kind - hello! Just think of how great you are doing - and how confident you will feel with your clients! Keep up the great work - don't forget to take care of yourself.
I lost 2 more this week. I bought myself a new dress today - it really looks nice and as I lose more weight, it will look better, and maybe I can even take it in. It was a size 20, and that is a ways from where I hope to be. When I was at my lowest, I was a 14/16, and that will be fantastic.
I am getting rid of my larger clothes, and my outdated smaller ones, as I go along. I am keeping one pair of pants, so to take a picture of before and after and then they will be gone. Don't want anything around that I can grow back into!
