Hooray!!! for the 19.4 pounds!! That's incredible!!
Last week I only lost .6 pounds and my consultant told me to add a bit of extra protein to my morning or lunch meal ...a slice of turkey or chicken or tuna, nothing big, but just something to sort of "jump start" the metabolism. (I been adding 1/2 can canned chicken breast at both breakfast and lunch --70 calories extra per day. We'll see on Monday if that helped.)
Also, if you've been doing one type of exercise, maybe try a change in the routine. Add a couple of small hand weights when you walk or change from walking to doing some weight lifting. Your body just gets used to one type of exercise and needs a kick in the pants to get things rolling again.
Good luck! ...and hang in there. Plateaus are tough, but we all KNOW we're going to reach one sooner or later. It's just so darn frustrating when we can't get off one.

Hi
Thanks for the advice--when I first started I was so hungrey I was adding some chicken breast to my lunch salad--I stopped doing that -now I think I'll start doing that again--you're so right-we need to boost that metabolism!!!
I walk with the Leslie Sansone tapes--I think I'll add weights to the routine--Thanks again!!!

Do you like the Leslie Sansone tapes? I've seen the CDs at my center and thought about buying them and transferring them to my iPod, but I sort of like the music I have on there now for walking and am not sure I'd like something different.
How long is the walk? ...and what are some of the songs?

The video tapes are for walking in the house--no music-I use them when its too hot to walk outside--there is a 10 minute easy walk--a 10minute brisk walk and a 10 minute walk with weights--you can do just the 10 minute one or the whole tape--
I also have her one mile walk, her two mile walk and three mile walk--from my last attempt to lose weight-

I'm certainly going to remember the "extra protein" suggestion when the time comes.....kinda along the lines when the consultant increased my total calorie menu when I was excercising a lot.....
And Welcome to everyone!

Hi Evy (MomMom) ... a little story
The Bible Study Group members were sharing their favorite Bible verses. The responses were pretty standard and familiar until one man said, "My favorite verse is: And it came to pass."
The other members were bewildered but didn't want to say, "WHAT????" Finally, one brave soul asked, "Why is that your favorite?"
"Because it says it came to pass and not to stay!"
PLATEAUS -- My experience (with nerve pain as well as with weight loss) ...
1. A plateau comes to pass and not to stay.
2. The plateua is a time when my body is getting on a new wavelength; almost all my body's energy is going toward internal adjustments.
3. A plateau is followed by significant improvement in my condition.
Your mileage may vary. And it's been very hard over the past 2 years with nerve pain to keep from falling into despair each time the nerve pain gets worse for weeks. But it has happened every time that after the plateau or even valley/pit, I have increased functioning in my arms and hands.
Believe the plateau is a promise of good things to come. And if you can't believe it now, I will believe it for you till you can believe it.

HEY EVERYONE, I CAN RELATE, I SEEM TO NOT MOVE VERY FAST ON THE WT. LOSS SCALE, BUT HAVE LOST INCHES, I WILL TRY ADDING EXTRA PROTEIN AS MY JCC ALSO SAID THAT I DO NOT EAT ENUF, ALSO WHEN I LOST THE MOST WAS WHEN I DRANK THE MOST WATER, I STILL DO NOT GET IT ALL IN...
