Hi Kimberly,
I've been watching this site since I need to lose 178lbs. and the 100+ site is so busy. Anyway, it seems like you are the only consistent "poster" here and I would love a support buddy if you need one too. Just warning you, I only check in 1 or 2 times a week but that looks like it works for you.
Anyway, hope your WI went better than mine, but I really can't complain - three weeks and I down 9.3. Good luck this week!

I would love to post on here as well, once a week or so for support. You are right the 100 plus board is really hard to keep up with!!!

I think it would be great if we can keep the up support with those of us that have more to lose.
I weigh in on Sundays, and was down .5 this week, which wasn't bad since I had dinner out 3 times last week!
Have a great week and look forward to reading about everyone's success this week!

Heya, I'm new here.
My first two weeks of food arrived Friday and as of 6pm PDT Sunday (today!) I'm giving it a go!
I work night shift so that's why I started Jenny at dinner time!
Anyway, here are my stats:
5'10"
36 years old
SW: 438
CW: 438
GW: 275
Except for a few months when I was 22, I haven't been below 300 pounds since I was 16, so I figured that choosing a goal weight in the "NORMAL" range (142-173, I have a med-large frame) seemed ridiculous.
I'll be weighing myself every Sunday when I wake up. So expect at least one post from me a week. More if work is boring!
I'm on the 2300 calorie plan. Any good ideas on what to add everyday to the menu plan? Two weak turkey sandwiches with milk a day doesn't seem too yummy.
Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Hi losing in SD,
First let me say how proud I am of you. Like me you have a long term goal. Sometimes I feel lonely here because my cw, hw and lt goals are so huge! But, the good news is every week they become closer and closer. I have a difficult time eating all my food due in part to like you needing to add! I have become creative and it is still working for me. I eat my breakfast early - 6:30 is latest. I have my am snack around 8:30 - 9 o'clock. Then around 10:30 I have a piece of whole wheat toast and some peanut butter. I then add croutons and cheese to my salad or have bread with my supper and low and behold I have consumed the equivalent to a turkey sandwich. At night I have a yogurt instead of milk with fruit. It took me a while to figure it out. Also, on occasion I have made a grilled cheese to go with veggies for a pm snack! I guess the key is to think outside the box!
Let me know if you get any other ideas that I can try. Change is what keeps it exciting!

Hi All,
I can't tell you how cool it was to open the "Board" this a.m. and see all the posts! I thought I was the only one having a hard time finding a place on these Boards.
I'm very new to Boards, so forgive my lack of computer shorthand and failure to get names prior to posting, DUH!.
I just have to say reading some of your "weight histories" is inspiring - thanks for sharing to all of you. This is a tough change - and change it is, not diet - so it is encouraging to read the successes of others.
Anyway, could one of you tell me/us about the "extrapounds" thing I see on a few of your posts. It looks like an electronic journal, but maybe better than the JC site. I have been looking for a journal, either the written or electronic type but have been frustrated with the JC e-journal.
And for Karen (I did get one name) in SD, check out the "ask the Dietician" section of the Board for your question. My consultant suggested adding nuts, a low fat cheese stick, a fat free yogurt for extra snacks, but that setion of the Board gives you access to wider set of answers - and the right ones!
Good Luck this week everyone! I'll check back Weds after WI!

AN awful WI today. Up 4.2 pounds! My first large gain since starting. Had increased gym time, but did not consume all my food this week. Guess thats a no no! Also drank alot of Pelligrino...need to check the sodium I guess. My counselor says it is most likely water, and that I know I gain if I do not eat the food all up. So girls no matter how busy you get still make sure yu at least grab a V-8 and a cheese stick. And yes you must eat that extra sandwich! Already looking forward to a big drop next week!

Hey guys. i thought I would come on here and post as well. I have been where you guys are and I know how it feels. Support is important.
Personals.
Hi Kim- great idea to start this board
disney- sorry that the 100 board is so busy. I know that I myself often have a hard time keeping up. Looks like since you posted this alot of joined this group- which is awesome. I hope you are now getting the support that is so need for the success
sugarland- you are doing awesome- WAY TO GO!!!
Welcome aboard karen. HWat I use to do with the sandwich that you were suppose to eat is often I would make a grilled cheese. Low fat cheese and marg of course, or I would have a small krasier with fat free turkey OR my fav was I would get the low fat baked tortios and have that with salasa, fat free sour cream and grated low fat cheese. It was a nice treat- I missed it when my cals got lowered
nessatonymom sorry about your first gain. I know how awful that feels. Often when you increase excerise your muscle will hold on to water. drink lots of extra water this week, eat all your food and con't the same amount of exerise that you did when last week and it will all balance out. Please try not to get discouraged
cindy- how did you weigh in go.
have a great day everyone

Thanks for all of the well-wishes on my first week everyone!
I had my first weigh in this morning. I have a talking digital scale and just about freaked out when it announced that I was down 18 pounds. I immediately had the BF hop on the scale to see if his weight was ridiculously low. It was. So I picked up the scale, repositioned it, he hopped back on and got an expected weight. So up I hopped and saw a loss of FIVE POUNDS.
Needless to say, I weighed myself a few more times to be convinced that it was actually working!
Thanks for the advise on how to enjoy my extra food. This week I enjoyed a California roll and some edimame when a GF wanted to go out for sushi. I also had a lovely gardenburger with cheese and a side of fruit yesterday while out to lunch with the BF. During the week, I'm adding rice and black beans or pasta, sauce and TVP (veggie ground beef).
As far as the Jenny foods go, I'm pretty much liking everything I try. The balsamic dressing tastes *just* like my brand at home for the same calories, so I'm going to not buy any more Jenny dressing. I didn't care for the tuna salad, but then again, I don't like it normally (but I thought I'd give it a go). So no more tuna for me after I eat the one I have left.
In 2001-2002 I lost 100 pounds in 10 months (127 total) on Weight Watchers (then sadly gained all but seven pounds back). I hope to be just as successful on Jenny Craig.
Only this time, I vow to keep it off. I saw myself gaining a few pounds here and there and just couldn't wrap my head around "counting points" any longer. At least with Jenny, if I see myself gaining weight, I can make a phone call and say "SEND ME FOOD" and I can get right back on track.
Boy I'm rambing tonight.
Oh, I put my picture on my profile if anyone's interested. I'm laying on the stairs of Sacre Coeur Church in Paris. That's my BF's knee I'm leaning on. He went to Paris on a business trip last fall and I tagged along Now I just want to go back again and not have to be totally squished on the plane (twelve hours is a LONG flight)!
Have a great week everyone!

Hi Gang,
I was away for an extended weekend and I had no Net connection. Way to go "Losing it"! That's a wonderful first week.
Nessatonymom, you've done so great and I found your success such an inspiration - try not to be too disappointed in this week. The extra gym time and the no food can really reflect negatively on the scale. It happened to me many years ago when I went to Disney and was possessed about staying on WW (I was successful) and exercising everyday (again successful). My reward - a 6 pound gain - I was devastated! So, I understand the disappointment and frustration. I am sure it is a temporary setback and this week everything will settle right back into place!
Glad to see some new "faces", its so great to have others who have shared and are sharing this experience. Good Luck to everyone this week!

So hey thanks gang for words of encouragement. It has been tough but I am eating all my food! I get so full sometimes, it is hard! I do love V8 so that helps with the salad crush at times! Went to see Cirque du Soleil on Sunday...it was awesome! Corteo...catch it if it comes near you! Well, off to soccer with the daughter...Thanks again. Hi Ladies,
Just checking in - I haven't noticed many new posts lately!
I just wi and am down another 2.6 - woo hoo!
I am walking - a lot I think - more than 10 miles a week and it isn't nearly the torture it used to be. I actually miss it on the days I stay home; I guess what they say about building a habit is true - I've been at it for 4 weeks now and just added some stretching and light execise in this week! I'm gonna be healthy if it kills me! (Now, if I could only remember to take my vitamin pills!)
Anyway hope all of you are doing well, would love to hear from you!

Preciouslove, awesome job! I thought the first week the hardest, so many changes and learning the program - so I am glad you really like it!
Welcome back Sunflower. Losing loved ones is very tough, hard enough to get up and do what we have to do while we sort through our grief - but to do it without chocolate is unimaginable. (Hope that gives you a little smile.)
If I missed anyone, sorry - I still don't remember to get all the names before posting.
Best to everyone this week - I'll be around for a change over the weekend and may check in.

Hi Ladies
Glad to see all of you here, I didn't think I would get many people in this group. I actually made a mistake posting, I mean't to post in the weekly celebrations group, but for some reason, my post landed here. I guess that was a good thing. Please enjoy posting here, seems like we needed another group for some of us to get more support. I am glad I helped. I weigh in on Sundays, I am not sure how it will go?? I sprained my foot this week, and I will be off work until Oct. 5th. I am hoping to reach my goal of 40 lbs lost by my birthday Oct. 19th. That is only 7 lbs away, I hope I can make it, I have been loosing only about 6 lbs a month. I know what I need to do, I need to cut out the snacks and add my fruits and Veggies, and exercise, other than that I am doing pretty well. I am so tired due to the long hours spent on driving to work and then making sure to pack the JC food for me and my hubby is a little different menu, and I get up at 3:00am to get ready for work, and plan the days food, which is almost a whole day of food to pack for us, Breakfast, snack, Lunch, snack, and a commuter snack. for on the way home. I get home about 6-6:30 pm every night and sometimes work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. It will be nice to take a week off this week. I will be able to post more this week.
I bought a smaller size of jeans from walmart, to give me something to work for to get into them, I thought I would try them on for fun, and guess what?? They fit already!!! I was so surprised!!!!!
I hope everyone has a great week!! Please keep posting. I love to see your progress and your successes/goals. It keeps me so motivated to keep on track, Thank all of you so much. You are all so special!!!
Love. Kimberly

Well, on Saturday, week two came to a close. I hopped on the scale this morning and was treated to a THREE pound loss. Not a bad way to start the day!
I'm getting the hang of things here. For the extra food that I'm allotted (2300 cal plan) I've been having Veggie Burgers on Wonder Light buns, pasta w/canned zucchini in tomato sauce (YUMMY) as well as Starbucks.
I managed to avoid going to any restaurants for the last eight days. I saved a ton of money these last two weeks by eating at home. As I was a 2-3 time a day restaurant eater before, just by eating at home, Jenny Craig is damn near free for me.
Welcome to Jenny, Sunflower and P-love. I'm looking forward to reading about your successes.
NesTMom and DisneyD, you guys both had a great week!
Kimber, keep that leg up! Keep your eye on your goal, I know that you can do it!

Hey Losing It - Awesome Job! That's really a nice second week too.
So glad to see Kim back, hope the leg heals fast and hope you shrink out of those jeans before you even get to enjoy them!
I think I'm having a really good week, I'll know for sure tomorrow, but the scale at home looks pretty sweet. Of course, that can be misleading as we all know.
In any event I spent most of the weekend working on a special "reward" for myself. I wanted to give myself something special for 1 month of exercise and staying on the program - so I cleaned out my enclosed breezeway, scrubbed all the walls and hung new drapes - and now have a beautiful, bright exercise room with tons of space! I moved my elliptical out, brought out my videos and my hand weights and everything. I am really exciting since using the stuff in my bedroom was a hasse and I was always stubbing my toe on the elliptical!
Anyway, I knew you guys would understand why that was exciting - wasn't sure my friends would. I am sure you also can now figure out why I think it was a good week - all that housework - Argh! But it was worth it, I love the new space, so much better than the dust collector it had become! Oh yeah - to encourage me to use it - I moved my dogs' trotter (treadmill) out there too, so now we can all exercise together. (Yes - dogs - I have show dogs and they need exercise - even in the rain.)
Good luck to everyone this week!

Hey DD,
Sounds like you were a busy bee. ousework is my favorite activity. 13 rooms, two floors is definitely a workout. Wish my pup could exercise lots. I have a miniature Daschund and her legs only go so far. She will be 2 next month and tops the scale at 10.6 pounds...
I have decided to join Curves for the added tone. I am just not so comfortable at our gym yet with all the lifting diva's. My hubby said he would pay and I have bottomed out in inches lost with just walking and stuff. ALl I am losing is my bust...am down 3 shirt sizes and a whole bra size. SOOOO...
Well, enough babbling good luck with everyone's weigh ins, mine comes Thursday...hopefully down again. Enjoy the day!

Hi Everyone...sounds like this might be the place for me!! I started my journey on Aug. 9th...went the first six weeks learning and finding out a lot about myself!!! Love the JC books and tapes!! I lost 13.8 pounds in that 6 weeks...THEN...I went on an over two week vacation with my husband (much needed!).. first few days I managed to stay on track..I ...but then came the coast and the ocean and the restaraunts!! I thought.."OH NO!!!"...But I found myself ordering what I wanted but without the fries or no this or no that!!! I thought for sure I would gain all the 13 lbs I had lost!! The surprizing thing for me was..I actually missed being on program!! I came home this week-end..went back on program and I weigh in tomorrow...I'm Skeeeered!! But no matter what the outcome is..I am back on track!!! My goal weight is 200 lbs...I found myself chatting in the chat room with gals that started their journey at less weight then what I would love to be when I reach my goal!!!..ANY WHO....I went on the message board this morning and found all your helpful hints and that you are also in the same boat I am in...so here I am...looking forward to more inspiration from all of you...Hang in there GFs...Your all beautiful and we're all worth it!!!

Morning Ladies,
Well the scale did not disappoint me, in fact it surprised me BIG time - another 4.1 lbs gone! Woo Hoo!!
I suspected a good week but not this, I've never lost that much once I was in the midst of the diet. Needless to say I am thrilled and proud!
Hey NesTMom, I can't believe 13 rooms, I have trouble with 6! Of course I am in the Fall clean mode - its like Spring cleaning but it hits me in the Fall! So I am doing the whole job, closets, touching up walls, grout, in addition to the cleaning part - you know the drill.
Good for you about Curves, I have a friend who raves about it. My local gym is great and not many "divas" but I just never seem to get there which is why I decided - for now - to make a space for it at home. I kept things in my room to remind me, but this is just as active a space and someplace the dogs can be with me.
I had to laugh about your chest shrinking story - that is the last place I lose - which is not always good. Even my consultant laughed when we did the first measurements at 4 weeks, almost no change - and believe me it has plenty to lose. Oh well, it will come - eventually it will balance out!
Hi TattooGram and welcome. You will love this site, the people are great! Nice weight loss that first week - good job! I give you a lot of credit, you joined knowing you were going away - a lot of people would have waited - I did and now I wish I hadn't. I was going to join in June and knew I was taking a cruise in Aug so I held off. I joined right after the cruise, but I lost 2lbs on the cruise, so now I wish I had been on it for 3 months!
Anyway, you see the point. Even if you gained some, you're still ahead of where you would have been!

I started this plan Oct 2. I think my story is a little different than the rest of you. I started at a very high weight and I struggled with it for years and lost and gained so many times I cannot count.... I know I can lose it if I set my mind to it... However I have never been able to keep it off. So I felt my only recourse was to have the gastric bypass surgery. My highest weight before surgery was 420 and now on Tuesday Oct 2 I was 283.2. I have lost 136.8 so far..... However the last 2 months I have lost only 5lbs... so it is really slowing down. Now that my stomach is totally healed I was able to eat about anything.... eventhough I was not eating a lot of anything I believe I was not making good choices of what I was eating... So I decided I needed something that was written out and told me what I needed to eat and nothing else.... Since I started 4 days ago I have already lost 3 lbs... that is almost as much as I have lost in past 2 months ... so I am excited that this is going to give me the jump start I need to continue on my weight loss journey.... I love reading these posts... They are inspiring to me

Hi Sarah's Mom - Nice to have you join us. I think you will find a few GB people on these Boards and more than a few, myself included, who have considered it. (I am just too chicken!)
I think you will find JC very helpful in changing your eating habits and encouraging a more active lifestyle. The CD's are really encouraging and thought provoking. Many of the "long term losers" have blogs which are very inspiring and they all encourage journaling to help yourself. And these Boards can be a really great help, as can your consultant in keeping you motivated and focused.
Good luck in your journey and welcome.

Week three showed a loss of two pounds. Two pounds that I was happy to have disappear off my back side
Occasionally my legs/ankles swell. Mostly the week before TOM, but honestly, when I'm eating horribly, the swelling can occur whenever (and DOES).
Well, this past week was when I expected to be swollen... and swollen I was. At one point this week the scale actually read 439. That's 11 pounds higher than I weighed in at today. Needless to say, I was freaking out.
That's why I was so excited at the two pound loss that I might otherwise be disappointed with (what? ONLY two measly pounds?!?!).
I'm hoping that when a few (20 or so) more pounds come off, that I won't have to deal with pre-TOM leg/ankle swelling at all. I never have this issue when I'm at lower weights.
Have a good week everyone!

Thanks disneydiva and nessatonymom for the words of encouragement... The first 100lbs came off pretty easily just because I had so much to lose.... now that I am at this weight it slowed way down... Like I said only lose 5lbs in last two months... I still have 100 to go... I did not go through all that surgery to get to here and not lose more... So I am now aware it is not all going to be as easy..... so I got to get serious about this and lose this last 100lbs... Now I have the hope to do it again.. This week was my first weigh in and I lost 7lbs which is more this one week than I have done the last two months on my own.... So I am extremely satisfied with this program so far.... my 6 month check up from my surgery Nov 6 and I did nt want to go back with only a 5lb loss after losing over 100 since 03/21/06. Now it looks like I will not have too... However, I will have to tell them that it is getting harder for me and that I started this program. I am sure they will think it is a good choice.

WAY TO GO LADIES! Losin'It & Sarah'sMom what awesome weeks you both had. I am so happy and proud of you both.
Losin'It, sorry to tell you this but the swelling thing at TOM is likely with you forever, whatever your weight (although it may lessen). Ain't it great to be a girl? I also gain water weight at TOM as do most of the women I know and almost all of them are "normal" weight. So I am afraid that's something we all have to live with.
Sarah'sMom - I know it will be alot easier for you at the doctor's when they see you are taking steps to continue losing. Hope all goes well, you've done great so far.

Hi Losing it,
Just a quick FYI, since doing Jenny Craig i no longer swell....hmmm, my first summer of non balloon ankles. Might be the sodium or the fact that I drink a gallon a day! Keep plugging along!
