Any Military Men on the JC plan?
I am new to the plan, started it 30Dec06 with my wife to help support her and because I don't want to be one of those fat Chief's that are all to frequent in the Navy.
I have done all of the crazy diets around PRT time and don't want to have to do that any more. My goal weight is an auspicious 185, my starting weight is 223. I have not seen 185 for a long long time, but that would keep me well within standards with out the dreaded Tape Measure.

Scoobygirl,
Thank you for your support.
Hey No Longer a BIG chief. I know the feeling. Back in 1990 when I was a first class assigned to instructor duty in San Diego I started JC as to not fail the next PRT. It paid off. Dropped down to 165 lbs and was selected to Chief that same year. I retired in 2002 and let me tell you it's rough when you don't anyone pushing you anymore. Good luck and keep us posted.

JPD,
Thanks for letting me know I am not the only military man that has ever been on JC. It is a rough battle with weight, with more then just health effects as the consiquence when in the Military. My current command is a very strong health concious command which does help, we always get PT time at least 4 days a week. For me the battle is the Galley. All that comfort food. Having my JC meals is a god send, even though I take a little ribbing for it in the Chief's Mess.
I had my first weigh-in the 4th Jan for week 1 completion and lost a suprising seven pounds. This week I am TAD, and am finding hotel living a large challenge and temptation without my number one supporter around (my wife). She misses me also, with her support.
BTW: how are you doing on the maintenance program of JC?

Hello Chief,
I'm active duty as well, but a female in the Air Force. I've been on JC since July and love it. I am TDY a lot with my job so I know it's tough to stick to it when away from home, but don't give up.
You should be very proud of yourself for sticking to it, even through the ribbing of your peers! Good on you. Who knows, you may get some of those other Chiefs to give it a try once they see how great you are doing. Keep up the great work, Chief.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Chief,
I just wanted to check in and see how you are doing.
I totally realated to what you said about getting ribbed about eating your J.C. meal. That's one of the hardest parts for me about the program is that every time I eat a meal in "public" I have to answer 20 questions!
Hope you are doing well and congrats on those 7pounds! How did your wife do?

I did good on maintenance for years. Then it slipped away from me. Up and down the last few years. Always enough to squeak by on measurements and then again maybe a little help from the coordinator. How is TAD going? From what you said are you an MS or I guess that is CS now? I was an MS for my 20 years and it sure was hard being around the food all of the time. I was on shore duty when I did JC back then so no one really new I was doing it. Take care and hope it is working out for you.
