Sure glad I started Jenny over a week ago and have really been energized by the meals and eating regularly (used to skip breakfast ALL the time).
Just found out my son is returning for his second deployment to Iraq. Hopefully will only be 8 mos this time (he was there 14 mos first go round).
I got pretty stressed out the last time so that's why I'm so glad I started the plan before I knew this. Would have been to easy to procrastinate and blow this decision to join Jenny.
Looks like I'm back to buying LOTS of beef jerky and such for the 'care' packages. Was hoping I would never see that stuff again

Hi and welcome Joon!
Sorry, I just saw your post and I feel bad that I didn't at least say hi before. I'm not a military mom, just a military wife, but still glad to have you. I'm sure you'll love JC!

Hey Joon...
Welcome!!
I'm sure it's extremely hard on you! I'm soooo glad you started JC before ur son deploys again! We're so glad to have you...I too am a military wife, but nonetheless we're in the same boat!
Can't wait to see your progress...

Thanks guys. Today is his first day in Iraq. Haven't strayed off plan so that's good. I keep trying to remind myself that he wants to be there but somehow the female in me just doesn't quite get that.
He trained these last six months in the canine program and loves that he is taking his dog to work with. Well he had great exposure growing up...we have WAY too many dogs . So, if you all can do this and stay on JC, I can too!!!!

Hi Joon -
I am a miltary mom - but my boys arent in the Army just my husband! Our little ones are 2 and <gulp> almost 4! (I cant believe our baby is going to be 4 so soon!) Anyway Andy, my hubby, has been gone for 4 months and we have till Sept 06' to go. He says they have to leave Iraq by 9/12 but I dont know...the Army seems to change its plans frequently! Anyway, just thought I would peek in here and saw your message, glad you are here and look forward to talking to you more!

Are there any other military mom out here? I am a Navy mom! My son is just getting ready to go to Jacksonville for a refresher course before he is off to Maine(Brunswick) and then Japan for 6 months. All I can say is here we go again...the worry...the stress. How do you mothers handle it?

Dear Auggie:
I have a 20 yr old son in the Navy currently out in the big blue ocean on a frigate, but I wanted to reply to you. We are retired Navy as well, and spent 7 yrs in Japan, (two tours not back to back) and we loved it. Living out in the economy was magical, and immursing yourself in the culture is hard not to do.. Even though all you see is the hecticness of the society, it is punctuated by quiet reflective places. It is rich in history and customs, and your son with have the time of his life. He just needs to go there with an open mind, and find the outskirts of the main cities...where it isn't as expensive, and just explore. I found more out of the way places like the old man that made ramen noodles, and his soup was devine... Just thought I would put your mind at ease.... Annr
