I try to work out at least once a day (doesn't get done alot though, most the time I just have to force myself). I had been doing cardio, biking and doing the like stepmaster thing, at my local ymca. During those kind of workouts I get sooo tired.
During my consultant time she told me to try differnt kinds of cardio, making sure that my body does not get use to just one routine and start going backwards and not helping me loose weight at all. So I decided to have some fun in the pool. I went into the "lap lanes" and started fooling around (I have never been to good at swimming in general but i have always loved it.) Then I noticed that there were some things that looked like weights but made out of styrofoam. I took a hold of those, and a boogie board. For an hour I rotated a few different routines with those. I didn't get tired, but I felt the burn-it was a GREAT feeling. When I got home I really felt the weight of it all, specially in my thighs (which need a major purging). Although now I feel tired, it is a good tired . I feel like I have accomplished more than normal routines.
What was so great about the whole thing was that moving in the lap lanes, I not only worked out my lower body like my normal cardio workouts but my entire body. It was awesome. Although we all normally feel very hestiant on sticking on a bathing suit and being seen by others, there are always alternatives. Buy a pair of long pants (workout type) and cut them to your perfered length then wear a tshirt over your bathing suit. Trust me, you will thank yourself afterwards, I feel great already-i can't wait to get on the scale tomorrow and see how much I burnt off.
