YAY! I went in Tuesday night for my first weigh-in, and I lost 3.8 lbs! I was very surprised, because even though I was following the plan perfectly, I felt like I was eating so much food! I have never dieted before where I actually felt satisfied at the end of the day. I guess that's why dieting never worked before. So, anyway, it's the drinking water and the exercising that is killing me. I'm so busy all the time (I'm a college student doing an internship in addition to taking 12 hours of classes). I managed to walk 30 min. 2 days last week, and I'm trying for 3 this week. I also managed to cut the caffeine out of my diet. I was drinking 6 or 7 diet sodas a day before JC. I know they're diet, but drinking 6 or 7 of them can't be good for you. So, I'm drinking a lot of crystal light, but I can't seem to make that switch to drinking water. It has no flavor! So, anyway, this is a long pointless message, but the bottom line is that I'm very happy with my first week's results, and I'm hoping that this week is the same! Good luck all!

I checked out your Profile and your home website. Man oh man! What a website!!! I am so impressed. I loved it so much that I saved it in my "My Favorites" spot so that I can go back to it and check it out from time to time. You are so creative.
All you JC veggie and even non veggie members should check it out! It is so very cool!!!
What State do you live in? I live in the Central Florida area not far from Oviedo Florida.

PS: Stick with JC. I went through the very same thing as you did a little over a year ago. When I first joined JC, I was scared to death to get on the scale after my first week on JC. I felt like I never ate so much food in my life. I can't possibly lose any weight eating like this, I thought to myself. I felt like I was pigging out all day long and then low and behold, my first weight in showed a 3.8 weight loss. I was so very thrilled. A year later and I showed a 60lb weight loss in one year. I still have like 100lbs to go. But I am still on JC fighting every pound that I lose one glass of water at a time and one meal at a time.
What I do is as soon as I get up in the morning I fill up a 3 cup mug with water and I keep sipping it through a straw as I get ready for work. I tell myself that I cannot eat breakfast or leave for work until I finish all of the water in the mug. I take bottled water to work with me and sip on it through out the day which is about 16 ounces and then when I get home, I sip on another 3 cup mug of water while I am cooking, or watching TV. In the beginning I practially lived in the bathroom, just getting rid of all of the water, after a while your body will go back to normal and you will be able to drink all of that water without living in the bathroom. LOL
I have heard of others on JC who have lost way more than 601bs in one year. Wish I could have done that too but hey, when I first started JC, I didn't expect to lose anything, so I need to count my blessings.
Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
And welcome aboard, you have been a real source of encouragement for us oldies but goodies.

Thanks so much for all the kind words! So glad that you liked my website also. So many people ask me why I'm a vegetarian that I thought, you know, I should just make a page to send them to so they can find out about it for themselves! I actually do lie in Oviedo, FL. Is that close to where you are?

Yep! I live in Lake Mary and work in Winter Springs. I go to the JC center in Altamonte Springs, you probably go to the one over on Red Bug Rd and St Rd 436.
My daughter used to work for JC and cover the various JC centers in the area as needed until she found a M-F, 8:30-5:30 office job.
You have to give those JC counselors a big pat on the back. I do not know how they do it. Most work three split shifts a week. like 8:00am to 12:00pm and then 4:00pm to 9:00pm and like I said, three times a week and then a night shift of like 4:00pm-9:00pm "AND" then...every Saturday from 7:00am-1:00pm. Not an easy work schedule for anyone.
Anyway, a big pat on the back goes to you too. Keep up the great job that you are doing and keep us posted as to how you are doing.
