"THREE CHEERS FOR THE JC VEGGIE BOARD"!!!
For all those who are new to JC, we did not always have a Vegetarian Support Group!
A year ago, we all started complaining and pleading to JC for our very own support group and then when they finally granted us with one, we were all shocked and amazed.
Thanks JC, your the bestest!

Hi Fellow Vegetarians,
Does anyone know if the Jenny Craig chat rooms work. I've tried to get to a chat room to no avail.null

I do not know of anyone who has ever been able to get to the chat room to chat with anyone.
I think I finally made it there once, but no one else was there.
I am not sure if it is a JC website problem or that no one goes there

I have been in the JC Chat just a few times since I started two months ago. There are always very few people in the chat because I think most of th emembers just read these boards instead of chatting... not sure why, but it seems to work out anyway.
Well today was my weigh-in and after almost eight weeks on the program of gaining and losing, I am back to where I started from. EIGHT WEEKS and my body hasn't changed one ounce - SAME start weight. Needless to say I feel very much defeated and ready to throw in the towel in the BIGGEST way. I have absolutely no idea what will keep me going on this program.
I bought two weeks' worth of food today, and went grocery shopping for all of the extras, so I spent close to $250 this a.m. just on food. I don't eat hardly any of the "shelf-stable" foods because I dislike them.
I was on the 2000 calorie plan but my consultant switched me down to the 1700 level even though I rarely ate my 2000 additions anyway and she swears it was the wrong cal plan for me anyway... So here I am, frustrated and disappointed, and not sure why I can't metabolize anything I put in my body... so these are my last two weeks going full steam ahead with the program. If my scale doesn't budge within the next 14 days, I won't stay on JC. I just see no point in investing more time, energy, and $$$ on a plan that doesn't work for me. As you can tell, I am more than disheartened at this point. Oh well.
HAPPY EASTER, everyone. I hope you enjoy your Easter Day dinners!

So sorry to hear of your dilemma. I think that you are right, you should have stayed with the number of calories that you were first assigned to you for your weight. But you said that you weren't eating all of the food at your calorie level and if your body isn't getting enough calories for it's calorie level, then you are not going to lose no matter what weight loss program you try or how much you exercise or no matter how much money you spend.
When I first started JC, I forced myself to eat every single thing on the menu, because I never ate so much in my life. My counselor told me that there are two kinds of people that cannot lose weight. One is the person who's body is in starvation mode, who isn't eating enough, so the body hangs on to it's body fat and the other is the type of person that eats too much.
You have to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day and make sure the allowed extras are within your calorie guidelines. If you are doing all of these things and still not losing, then I would tell you to do what I did before I started JC. I went to my Doctor and told him that I did not want to start any weight loss programs until I was tested in all areas to make sure that everything was working right in my body, so that I would be successful. So he sent me to a specialist. Everything showed that I was fine on my lab work, but because I had all of the symptoms of Hypothyroidism, she treated me for that. She said that sometimes other health problems cause the lab work to give wrong lab readings and things don't always show up in the lab work. So she started treating me for Hypothyroidism and the weight started coming off, without me even changing my way of eating. When I came to a stand still and got discouraged, then I joined JC and have been successful ever since. Some times I hit plateaus, but I just ingore them and keep doing everything that I am supposed to be doing and before I know it, I am so much thinner than I was before. So make sure you are doing the program according to your weight and make sure that your lab work and symptoms aren't trying to tell you that something might not be working right in your body for you.
Also, I find that when I am losing pounds, I am not losing inches and visa versa. So what I do is measure myself from head to toe so that when I hit those plateaus on the scale, I am able to measure myself and see those inches come off while I am waiting for the scale to start going down again. I measure my neck, one of my arms, chest, midriff, waist, tummy, hips, one of my thighs, above the knee, calf and one of my ankles and keep track of it, whenever I hit a plateau.
Please keep us posted. We will be rooting for you. Wishing you success in all that you do.
Connie
