What is your favorite restaurant to eat at and why?
I love eating at "Sweet Tomatoes", because it has an assortment of veggie salads, fruits, pastas, muffins, soups and all without the preservatives and chemicals.
Usually whenever I eat out at any place else...I usually get all bloated from the sodium and preservatives, but not when I eat at "Sweet Tomatoes".
How about you guys? Where do you like to go to eat, when you go out?

Sweet Tomatoes is one of my favorites too! We have one just down the street from us
Today I tried the new spicy black bean veggie burger at Burgerville. Totally AWESOME!!! If you are in the Pacific Northwest, run in and try one!
Other favorites... anything Indian! We have several good ones here in Beaverton. And Olive Garden is always good.
Ooooh... I'm getting hungry now! I better go find something to munch on

Sweet Tomatoes sounds like a good place! I never heard of it, none around here (massachusetts). Although there is an Olive Garden (I have to be careful with pasta though!!) I like Chicago Bar & Grill (Pizzeria UNO is another name for it). They have great veggie-burger, and it comes with delicios grilled vegetables and coleslaw and pickles. Also Chili's is good for their vegetable-cheese quessadias (spell??). Sure could use other suggestions; not too many veggie-friendly restaurants around here (I think they are all in California!!!)

we have this great vegan place by me called down to earth. everything there is so yummy (especially their desserts) you would never know its vegan.
i also love thai places cuz they are very vegetarian friendly.
i've found that portland and salt lake city are very veggie friendly cities when i've been traveling.

Well actually I have to admit, I do love the Olive Garden. Especially their Cheese Raviolies and their bread too. But if I am trying to be good and follow the JC program, I find that I have more self control, hitting the "Sweet Tomatoes" place and filling up on all of their different kinds of salads.

Well,I like the local spots in San Diego and Los Angeles
San Diego:
Rancho's Mexican food. They serve vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes. I can go there with everybody and order what I want too.
Mandarin Dynasty: Chinese food. Same as with Rancho's. I always seem to get the Singapore noodles(without egg) and veggie dumplings.
There are a couple other places in San Diego, but these two are the ones I frequent.
Ocean Beach People's Co-op: Not a restaurant. But they have great soups in their deli and organic fruits and veggies,ect..
Sunshine Organics: Also not a restaurant. They have a large refridgerated deli area w/vegan and vegetarian entrees, sandwiches, and desserts to grab & go. There is also a daily hot lunch special which includes choice of 2 items, a soup and salad. And organic fruits and veggies,ect..
Los Angeles:
Native Foods: California/American food. They have lots of options,I think they are mainly vegan. They do sandwiches, fake meats, soups, salads, rice bowls, noodles, and desserts. I have had many a good meal there.
Real Food Daily: They also serve pretty much what Native Foods does. I have only been there a couple times, but is a nice place to stop for a casual bite when in Santa Monica. It is right by the 3rd(?) Street Promanade.

Dear Emerald_green:
What state do you live in? The veggie burgers at Burgerville sound so delicious!
Dear Kozfan:
I did not know that Pizzeria UNO had veggie burgers.
Dear Julie_d: What state are you in? "Down To Earth" sounds like a nice place.
Dear PoppyB:
Pretty cool veggie options at your favorite places to eat. Wish they had those places here in Florida. Maybe some day.
Dear liljess15:
I was born in Brooklyn NY and raised in Long Island NY. Even though I am on JC, I miss those Italian Bakeries up in NY. But I now live in Florida. What part of NY are you from?
emerald_green
I live in Beaverton Oregon, though Burgerville can be found throughout Oregon and Washington. The black bean veggie burger truly is wonderful, probably because of the chipotle sauce and pepper jack cheese! It probably wouldn't be too hard to duplicate at home.
I forgot to mention Vietnamese and Thai food! We have several really good ones within a stone's throw of our place. In the Pacific Northwest we have all the best asian foods you can think of.
I just wish we had more Greek places to chose from. The best Mediterranian place I've been to was in Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands, which is much to far to go to on a regular basis. I used to work near a decent Greek deli in Portland, but that was years ago. I still miss it. I suppose I shouldn't complain since I really dont need the temptation right now
Best Wishes,
Angela

i live on the jersey shore in the land of bruce springsteen.
i've been to dojo alot, liljess. you can't beat their price and selection.
i love wild oats groceries stores out west. i wish we had some that big around here. we just have small health food stores that dont have much of a selection.
the best all vegetarian meal i've ever had was at the vegetarian culinary school in new york (the name escapes me) but you pay 25 bucks and you have a 4 course gourmet vegan meal. yum yum yum.
ykwcg
The four course meal at a vegetarian culinary school in NY sounds great!
We have a Culinary school in Central Florida, I will have to check into it and see if they have that option available to the public.
What part of NY is it in? The city or upstate?
