I thought I would start a cheering section for the Veggies of JC! We are a breed with determination. To make the decision to not eat meat on a dialy basis for whatever you reason or cause takes will power. We need to harness the same will power in our weightloss/ healthy lifestyle journey.
CHEERS and YIPEEEE for all of us.
Also, I lost another 1.5 lbs today and wanted you cheer about that!
Join in the cheering. We need to celebrate more often and less often with food.

Three cheers for the veggies!!!!!
You know, I was thinking about your comment about the will power to not eat meat. I didn't really need will power to stop eatting meat. I just did it. I don't even think about it. But for some strange reason, cutting out the junk food seems to take a lot more will power.
I think it must stem from my desire to think about everyone(/thing) ahead of myself. I have no trouble stopping eatting meat when I think about the harm to animals but it's a real struggle to stop eatting junk food even when I think about the harm I do to myself.
Sorry if that's off topic.

Truelove,
No matter how you look at it, we need to respect ourselves as much as we do others!
Great observation!! I made the choice 4 years ago to not eat meat because half of a bacteria contaminated hot dog I ate ended the life of my unborn child. It all comes down to why we need to do the right thing for ourselves. We are sooooo worth it!!!!!
Three cheers for you on your weight loss, you have done a fantastic job and working on YOU!
Ya Hooo!

Does anyone have something they want to cheer about?? Something you have done or not done that you are proud of? We need to celebrate our successes more often no matter what size they are!

Three Cheers for Hops!!!!
On a very happy note...today I went to Hops Restaurant and Brewery, all I had was one of their delicious salads and a cup of coffee....but! I noticed something new on their menu that I want to try it the next time that I go there.
They have a new item called veggie raviolies. It is round ravioli's with grilled veggies and herbs inside. "AND" on top of that it is made with no meat marinara sauce.
I came home to see if they had their own website to see if I could find out the calorie/fat contents, but could not find one for them. Maybe the next time that I go to their restaurant I can find out some more information. But I cannot wait to try it.
Anyone else find new and exciting veggie meals to eat, when we eat out?

You are sooo right! We have to be thankful for even the small things!
I have to remember that 1 lb. is better than no lbs.
Thanks for the reminder.

I also agree, it wasn't hard for me to decide NOT to eat meat... its the replacement food that I have a hard time with. Always eating side dishes is not the best way to deal with it. I am really starting to enjoy all the "pretend" meat products that are popping up everywhere. At Safeway I found a product called "I can't believe its not beef" sounds funny but man it is sooooo yummy. there is also a chicken version. I wish jenny would catch up with some of these trends. Soy is sooo much better for you and WAY less fat and calories than animal products. You'd think she'd change MOST of her products to soy!!!

Hello all:
I just wanted to say "hello" and introduce myself. I live in Washington, DC and I have been a strict ovo-lacto vegetarian (no fish, no gelatin) for almost nine years... I joined JC one month ago and so far I have actually GAINED three pounds!
I am trying very hard not to be discouraged and every day commit myself to sticking it out - each meal, each morsel. I like the frozen foods best and since I am a CARB ADDICT I do enjoy all of the variou snacks as well.
Anyway I recently posted a message regarding the March foods on that "feedback" board regarding the new Breakfast Bowl (limited edition). I think it is so shameful and UNNECESSARY that JC added gelatin to that item, which is just so frustrating. I try VERY HARD NOT to eat foods made with gelatin or animal bi-products (although I do admit that I will eat honey), and when I found out AFTER the fact that the BB contains gelatin, I was so angry! Anyway I have mentioned that I won't buy the BB again unless JC actually tosses that ingredient! I mentioned this in my post, and I said that although it may seem like "small potatoes" (pardon my pun) to them, they are losing almost $400/year of MY business if I refuse to buy an alternative to the BB (as a form of protesting). If I DO stick to the plan (I used the personalized menu because the "shelf-stable" foods are practically inedible to me and I am big on FLAVOR), then I would be buying two BB a week at $3.99 each. That is 104 BB a year at a total cost of OVER $400! Imagine if us veggies stuck together on this one and all did the same in protest!!!
Anyway my intent with this post was not to lead the crusade against gelatin in JC food items, but simply to say hello. I guess I always have problems simplifying, find that MUCH-NEEDED balance in my life!
Well I am on an Easter challenge: to lose ten pounds by April 20th... anyone want to join me??????
Thanks for reading and best wishes for a very successful week ahead... and happy April to you!

I also dont eat gelatin, which for those of you who don't realize it is the boiled cow hooves. I am a vegan so JC is very hard for me, I have to read every Ingredient of what each item is made of. But I do this because I want to, though my options are extremely small, I made this commitment to myself and to my own Boxer Simon who died 14 July 2002, that I can't knowingly be a part of any animal suffering, torture etc. I read labels, I call the 800 # and ask if they support animal testing, if they do I let them know I will no longer use their products. I'm happy there are so many JC vege's but we do need to ask JC to get more info on the foods they offer and promote. Milk in any form should never be consumed, especially by those trying to gain a healthy life style, the pollutants in milk are extremely high. If you had a microscope to see "PUS SACS" you were ingesting you would be sick. Chickens are forced molted, starved for upto two weeks to stress them out to produce eggs, which causes more disease in the eggs you eat. I could go on and on, but if we don't do something within our own lives how can we expect others to learn and understand the health risks of animal products.

I have 4 boys whose taste in vegetables varies as much as their taste in music. My oldest will eat just about anything set in front of him with the exception of brussle sprouts. My 18 year old likes the starchy vegetables such as corn
Life Insurance Quotes potatoes and carrots. My 10 year old is a very picky eater and we found that using his favorite salad dressing on the vegetables that he doesn't really like will get a small portion eaten.
Maserati Dallas TexasMy eight year old loves all vegetables and will eat anything put in front of him. All of my kids love salad and we eat it every day.
All of my kids like steamed salted edamame and will eat it in place of popcorn when we watch a movie.
I try to make sure all of the vegetables that I want my kids to eat are cooked andante. They will eat them much easier with a little crunch than if they are over cooked.
GOOD LUCK!

Good Morning - Not eating popcorn is a new idea to me, would you mind sharing why it is not something I should be eating?
Also, someone posted earlier that they do make an exception to "honey" and will eat it - why? Jist want to learn as much as I can - many thanks in advance.

I am cheering for all my fellow vegetarians who are hanging in there with the limited JC options!
Hooray for all of us!
I am just re-starting, and have 40 pounds to lose. The most daunting thing is I know the JC menu is going to be so, so boring within 2 or 3 weeks. Good for all of you are setting that to the side, and keeping your eyes on your goals!
