We haven't started a veggie roll call since last April and I have been noticing new names in our Veggie Forum. This is what I had posted last April:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How about a Vegetarian roll call?
I didn't quite know what a roll call was all about, until I went into another Topic area and checked it out. I thought it was pretty cool. That is where you tell a little bit about yourself. So here it goes:
I'm Connie
From: Born in Brooklyn NY, raised on Long Island. Have been living in Florida for the past 20 years.
Job: Work Comp Customer Service. (Recently laid off) Use to also be a Hairdresser and a Nursing Assistant.(til I got burned out)
Stats: 5'4 293.4 when started. Next weigh in, tomorrow.
GOAL: 140-145 Would really love to be 135 again, but saw somewhere that 145 is good for my age group. So I will worry about it, when I get close to that goal.
Time in: Starting my 6th week.
Being the oldest of six children, with two full time working parents, I spent my first 17 years of my life mostly raising my brothers and sisters. Married at 18, had two children right away, 15 months apart in age. Divorced after two years. Married a wonderful Husband a few years later, who had custody of three children of his own and then we have had two wonderful children of our own. So I have literally spent my whole life taking care of everyone, but myself. Have been working full time and taking care of a family full time, for the past 16 years.
Before JC I had completely given up on ever losing weight or even trying anymore. But my Husband has never given up on me. He literally took me by the hand and said to me, you have spent your whole life living and caring for everyone but yourself. It is time that you started living your life for yourself. We have tried everything there is to try, except JC. Lets try one more time and see what JC has to offer.
I have also been dealing with all kinds of health problems for the past 23 years. You name it and I have had it. Had to have minor heart surgery last Jan. which could have been more life threatening than it was. The Doctor pleaded with my Husband, saying if you want to keep your wife much longer, you better take responsibly for her and take drastic measures to help her to lose this weight.
My youngest daughter, who is now 16 and never lies, does lie now. If I happen to need a chocolate fix and she has chocolate in her room, she will tell me, I don't have any Mom, now don't think about it. I guess she feels that if it is going to help me and protect me, then it is for a good cause.
Her and my other 21 year daughter have been encouraging me to get out of the house and go swimming and get some sun. So I have a very supportive family. Otherwise, I would be shut up in my bedroom in bed all day. So this has been very therapeutic for me.
I am now looking forward to celebrating my 25th Wedding Anniversary, this July 3rd, (a little be thinner)And hoping that this summer's religious convention in August, I will be able to fit and be conformable in the convention chairs.
Hope I didn't bore you guys to death. I guess my telling my little bit, ended up being a whole lot.
Love to hear from everyone else.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since my last veggie call post, I have lost 50+ pounds and since I do my own head to toe measurements at home, I have lost close to 50 inches also. I have gone from a size 26W to a size 18W. Can't wait until I wear a size 9/10. Can't wait until I no longer weigh over 200 lbs. but I am working on it.
So to all of you new JC veggie members, Welcome Aboard and how about telling us a little something about yourselves?

Ok... you asked for it!
My name is Angela, and I'm 30 years old. I was a tiny, scrawny child who got tired of being picked on by all the bigger kids, and thought by eating more that I would get "bigger" too. I did get bigger, but it didn't turn out exaclty as planned...
I chose my sceen name emerald_green for many reasons. My eyes are green. My birthstone is an emerald. My favorite color is green. And I wear an emerald ring on my right hand that my husband had designed for me in India, where he is from.
I had one daughter when I was 18, but never married her dad. I lived with my parents until my daughter was 4, at which time I moved in with my now husband. We've been married almost 7 years and have a 3 year year old daughter.
I work as a drafter for Bonneville Power Administration. I have a nasty commute every day from Beaverton Oregon to Vancouver Washington. I've been an Oregonian my entire life.
Basically I lead a very boring life.
My goal is to lose 163#, of which I've managed to lose about 21# so far. My dream is to be able to shop in the petite section! Once I get below 200, I would like to have a romantic 2nd honeymoon in Cancun. My short term goal is to be a more comfortable weight on a family trip to Disneyland in May. Gotta work on my energy and stamina to survive that place!
My husband has been 100% vegetarian for his entire life, and I've done it off and on since we met.
Nice meeting you all!
Angela

hello! i'm not a full-fledged vegetarian, but there's a lot of foods i don't eat (pork, red meat, etc.) so i've been checking out this board.
i was born in chicago, but have been living in iowa since 98 for school. right now i'm a secretary and restaurant hostess, saving up money for grad school.
i've been on jenny direct for a little bit over a month now. i started out at 170 and my goal is 135, but i would ideally like to be a little smaller than that. i figure i'll determine my true goal as i get further into the program.
so, that's me! it's really interesting to read the rest of this role call.

Hello fellow Veggieites! What a great idea and way to get to know everyone!
I am 33 years old and live in Omaha NE (the beef capitol). As my name says, I am a mother of twins 5 years old, and did I mention they have a lot! This is my reason for going back to JC. I need to keep up with both of them. My fantastic husband is my biggest fan and supporter!
I became a vegitarian 4 years ago when I lost
my 3rd child 5 months into the pregnancy because of a contaminated hot dog. I will leave it at that. This is my way of saying that it was not right.
I do give JC credit for incorporating the veggie lifestyle into their program. They are slowly adding meals we enjoy.
Glad to be here with you all!

Hello - Glad to see the vegetarian site has some new activity!! I have been a vegetarian for 5 yrs now, will be forever!!!(Everybody always says "don't you miss meat?") Ugh! NO! Feel much healthier meatless! I joined JC 6 yrs ago and lost 40# after the birth of my daughter. I since gained 9# over the past year and came back to shed them. I joined the special 8 weeks/$36. Unfortunately that special is gone, but it worked out well for me. I am pretty much at goal now, maybe 1 - 2# more, but am happy where I am now.
I am 5'3" and enjoy putting on my jeans from last winter and finally have them fit me again!
I have 2 beautiful children that keep me hopping!! I am a stay at home mom, I am not a "soccer mom" I am a "hockey mom" and that has me running 5 days a week!!!
I enjoy exercising - I think that really helps with the weight loss. I love the one on one support from JC, and I will miss that whem my 8 weeks are up! Will also miss those vitamin bars - what a treat every morning!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the last veggie roll call from last year - I hope to read some updates from the people that posted them last year. Hope they are doing well on the JC plan!

Hello, First time user. Trying to learn as much as I can to stay motivated. I've lost 22 lbs. so far but have much more to go. I'm losing a bit of my motivation. Need to get in the proper mindset....Getting lazy about recording and drinking my water seems to be part of the problem. I know what I'm supposed to do but apparently I'm sabotaging myself by not doing it. This is a very familiar senario. That's it.

I'm Beth
From: I was born and have lived my whole life in Southern California.
Job: Marketing and Graphic Design for Construction Consulting Company in Irvine, CA.
Stats: 5'8" Right now: 211 lbs.
GOAL: 160. I would love to be 145 (like I was in high school, but I set a more realistic goal, as I don't want to disapoint myself.)
Time in: NEWBIE! Starting my 1st week!
Well, I just started last Saturday with my best friend. I knew I was in trouble when I hit over 200# and my best friend wanted to shape up too, so we joined together. We are both very excited about the program and try to talk at least once a day to encourage each other. Unfortunately, she's not a veggie, so I am on my own on that side of the program. Seems to be ok though. Well, I won't bore any of you any longer.
Have a great day!!
Beth
Ps. I have my first weigh in on Friday!!
