Hey--I'm still a vegetarian and like to check in on this board sometimes. Anyway I tried the veggie burger at BK recently. DIDN'T like it, I don't recommend it! anyone else try it? It was like $2.59, very dry. Well I guess I can't expect anything vegetarian at Burger King to be too good huh? However, if anyone has been to Pizzeria Uno/Chicago Bar & Grille, they have an awesome veggie burger there! I know it's bigger than what JC would want you to have, but it comes with a pickle and grilled vegetables (awesome also) and I've taken a few bites and then removed the bun and eat the rest of the burger with the lettuce, tomato, onions & mustard and it's quite a satisfying meal!

I've seen other people post that the BK Veggie they had was dry and they didn't like it. But the ones I've had have been quite the opposite - mushier than I'm used to having - feels like mushy rice in there. I still have them because the taste isn't bad and there's not really anything else for a vegetarian to have at BK and I like the low-fat mayo they put on it. Maybe the type of burger they use is different in different regions.... I'm in Jersey.
I absolutely love the one they have at Chili's - it's actually a black bean veggie burger and the kind I get comes with mustard, lettuce, tomato and is yummy!

Thanks for all of the info.
I like my veggie burger dry, so I will have to give it a try. When I wasn't on JC, the only thing that I ever liked at Burger King was their onion rings and Nestles dessert.
I never liked anything at Pizzeria Uno/Chicago Bar & Grille, but I will have to go, just to try their awesome veggie burger and grilled vegetables.

I have to say, that one of the best veggie burgers I've gotten is the Boca brand - All-American Classic. It's 110 calories (rather than 90 calories for the regular kind) and 1 gram of fat (compared to 0 on the regular). But it's got my husband converted - and it's become a hit even with my family. Would have never thought. And I still get really disgusted looks even suggesting it to others - but I encourage them to try it! Especially with normal burger condiments.

I agree, the Boca Burger grilled Classics are great. My family likes them too. Gail

There are so many kinds of veggie burgers I like! Morningstar makes several different varieties, including Grillers, which is a flame broiled burger style. I also dig Gardenburger burgers, which is sold to a lot of restauants. Do you folks prefer the veggie/rice type, or the "hamburger" type? My house is split right down the middle, bit *I* generally do the shopping !

I prefer the kind of veggie burgers that don't feel or taste like real hamburgers. I don't want my veggie burgers to feel or taste like meat <blah!> I had one yesterday at a diner and it looked just like a regular hamburger. I sat there breaking it apart and smelling it to make sure it wasn't real meat.
I have to say that I haven't heard that before! Althought there are a couple I enjoy because of their extra chunks of veggies, most of the burgers are indended to be like actual burgers. And since that's often the majority - you may be picking apart a lot. Especially as they improve!

If you're having the Burger King veggie burger, It is probably a good idea to dump part of the bun. The burger pattie itself has 120 calories, and the bun is 160. The reduced fat mayo is 70 calories. Total for the whole thing is 360 calories.
My favorite veggie buger is the spicy black bean. They heat up nicely on the grill or in the toaster oven, and they taste great with a little onion, lettuce and tomato.
