I am ready to give up the meat. My mother-inlaw has been ready a book (Healthy eating for life for women) and it tells how meat is not good for you. My question is i have been a meat eater for 33 years. How hard is it going to be to give it up? I have been on the program starting my 2nd week. I love it and i love the chat.

Way To Go U.S.NEWFIE!!!
Well, I have tried it many times on my own and have never been successful.
"BUT" Since I have joined JC and have been following the JC Vegetarian menu, it has not only been so easy, but very enjoyable too! Sometimes I will add a couple of Personal Choice days on there because, I love having the Sunshine sandwich without the meat. Sometimes I will exchange it with FF cheese. Sometimes I will separate the egg and muffin and I will toast the muffin and spray it with " I can't believe it is not butter" spray. Heat up the egg in the microwave or pan fry it with Pam and have a juice, a yogurt and a coffee with it and there you have it. A fabulous breakfast!!!
Sometimes I will have the Pancake mix, which I truly love. Never liked pancakes, or syrup until JC. It is so very filling and delicious. Sometimes I will save the egg that is supposed to go with it and have it later on with my half sandwich allowed for the day. I usually do this on a day where I am craving eggs over medium, or a day when I know I will be up very early and go to bed very late. When I know it is going to be a very long day. It will be like having a little extra meal added to my day. I will then have two eggs over medium, with a couple of slices of low cal bread toasted, with some "Can't believe it is not butter" spray and a cup of coffee and it is just, sooo good!
Anyway! Welcome aboard and let us know how you do. We are here for you, if you need us.

PS: I have been a non-vegetarian for 49 years and have been following the vegetarian menu for a few months.
You can do it and your will feel better in more ways than one.

Right on, Newfie!
The most obvious step toward vegetarianism is to reduce your intake of flesh. There are plenty of non-meat entrees that you can feed to your meat eating family, especially if you can put aside the notion of a three part plate (meat-potato-veg) on which so many of us were brought up . How hard core are you thinking of going? I think it helps to know what you won't eat before you go into a situation (kind of like JC!). Based on what you are still eating, you might have to supplement a little, but we've come so far since the days of earthy-crunchy Lentil Loaf ! I am sure you'll do great!

He said if he dosen't have to give up beer lol . He is all the way over there and he is so suprtive of me. I am going to start this week. Thanks for the help.
