Does anyone stir fry their veggies? If so, when did you start stir frying? What made you start stir frying? What veggies do you stir fry? How long does stir frying usually take? What do you like about stir frying?

Well -- I can tell you what I've seen and heard. I had one for awhile but never used it - and haven't gotten a new one. But veggies don't take too long -- you may want to research it on the web, like maybe: www.cookinglight.com www.marthastewart.com www.foodtv.com or other places of cooking resources. And all kinds of veggies will work - just depends on what you like!
But you can stir fry them in stock (veggie, chicken, etc. - just watch the sodium content) and get them more flavorful. And if can cut the veggies about the same size, they should take similar times. It's a bit like boiling veggies, that you really just have to taste it yourself to know. A bit general, but I saw that no one answered yet, so I thought I'd make a stab at it!
Good luck!

I stir fry my veggies sometimes. (I think we all must get tired of steamed broccoli!) I usually use a wok, but you can also use a fry pan or something. I usually spray pam or use my fat allotment of oil and put it in the pan--you need to try to get it very hot. If you want you can marinate the veggies first, or just throw them in. Some veggies take longer than others, so sometimes I'll do chopped onions, then add some zuchinni, etc. and if I want tomatoes I throw them in at the last minute. The stir fry usually only takes about 5 minutes--I guage it by color usually--if the zuchinni and brocholi turn bright green I know they are almost ready. FYI--if you want to have tofu in it as well, I usually stir fry that first, take it out and do the veggies and then add it back in. I know we aren't supposed to eat salt etc.--but shhh, don't tell, sometimes I put a little low sodium soy sauce in too--otherwise there are great asian spice mixes to toss in. Hope that helps!
