Are you ready to quit goofing off and get BACK ON TRACK?
TODAY IS THE DAY!! Don't look back. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start over again. Get out your journals, food scales, program literature, and start fresh!
These are the 8 Weekly Challenges:
WEEK ONE: JOURNALING - focus on writing down every bit of food or drink that goes in your mouth. Try writing in the journal in 2 colors…One for the planned meals and a different color for the unplanned snacks , BLT’s and grazing, Once this week, post your previous day's journal to the thread.
WEEK TWO: PORTION CONTROL - focus on weighing and measuring. Share your best suggestions for controlling portions and for controlling overeating impulses.
WEEK THREE: WATER - drink required water. Post one helpful suggestion for getting water in.
WEEK FOUR: VEGGIES / FRUIT - eat all required f/v servings. Share a preparation recipe.
WEEK FIVE: DAIRY - get in all required dairy servings. Tell us about your favorite way to get in dairy. Share a recipe using dairy.
WEEK SIX: EXERCISE - focus on earning a few more APs than usual. Try a new exercise this week, or do one you don't normally do.
WEEK SEVEN: MENU BALANCE - focus on the amounts of fat, fiber, carbs and proteins that you get in your diet. Have you been feeling full? Could you stand to make some adjustments?
WEEK EIGHT: EMOTIONAL PERSPECTIVES - focus on emotional issues raised by your weight, or weight-loss. Are you having trouble with night-time eating? Binges? Each day, try to find one thing that qualifies as an NSV.
All are welcome, we love new friends!

I'm so sad that since Gal left the thread that we don't have as many members!
I was thinking maybe a good challenge may get things moving a bit. I know I could use the extra push in the right direction!
If anyone has any ideas, feel free!
Today is my WI: I leave in about an hour and a half. Hopefully I'll be down about 2 lbs this week.
I'll post more when I return!

I hope some other people join, I love the daily motivation. Well - I think I am officially bored with JC food. Last night when I came home from crochet class it was time to eat my BBQ meatloaf but instead I had some other stuff that just sounded better and actually had less calories. I had 1/2 package of the niblets corn with sauce, added some chopped tomato only 137 calories and 100 calorie popcorn and 2 laughing cow wedges 70 calories. So very little protein and veg but it really did taste better to me. This coming week I am going to try to do more MOMO's to fight the boredom. It is not that I want to eat "bad for me stuff" I just need something different. I have also been craving a turkey sandwich, or a nice grilled shrimp salad. Anyway my exercise today is going to be my 45 minute lunch walk and a 60 minute bike ride, I am having my wi tomorrow which is one day early because I am hosting a dinner party on Sat night and I am going to enjoy that wine. I am preparing the entree - Grilled tuna with basil aoli and tomato coulis. The Basil aoli is juste homemade basil mayo. I already made it and except to taste for salt have not had any although the DH said it was really good on some shrimp he made last night. I am also making a heirloom tomato salad with anchovy toasts. From a food perspective the dinner will go fine, it will just be how much wine I have with it. I have been compeltely dry for 2 weeks. Here is my plan for today
Nurti Muffin Top, yogurt, banana
100 cal wheat thins
Mesquite Chicken, salad
Beef Chow Mein - extra veg, fruit
Chare - I hope the wi was good!! I think you are feeling better, glad the meds are working.

Hi everyone! I've been away, on vacation, and then busy at work, trying to catch up. I brought my Jenny Cuisine along on vacation, and lost 2.2 pounds.
Why has Gal left?
As far as challenge ideas go, how about an activity challenge? I'm really struggling in that area.
Today's plan:
10 minute walk
B: Banana nut cereal, coffee
S: Lowfat cheese stick, AT bar
L:MOMO: Turkey sandwich
Walk
S:chocolate caramel peanut bar, nutrigrain snackbar
D:JC lunch, salad with lite dressing
S: grapes
Pilates plus walk or Gazelle (depending on when the kids go to bed!)
Tomorrow is WI day. Yikes!

My WI went very well - after stalling last week, I'm down another 3.2 lbs. I talked with my JCC about what has been going on with my mono and we decided that since I've got such a little apetite, I should eat what I want, when I can, while trying to eat healthy. Hopefully I'll be able to lose again next week.
An activity challenge sounds great! Sadly, I can't join in this week - I'm on MD orders to relax for a while.
How about this:
Let's do a 100 mile challenge.
There are 16 days left in September. Let's see if we can (as a group) get to a total off 100 miles walked/biked/ran/elliptical-ed by the end of September!! Just keep track of your daily walking (steps not included, unless you're specifically tracking for working out time) or whatever other exercise you do, and we'll total it all up on the last day of the month and see how far we got. If we do well, maybe next month we'll shoot for 200.
Sound ok?

Great! No time like the present - let's start today! Others can join with their daily mileage when they see this, and I'll keep track of our miles in my signature.
Let's get walking!

Chare, I'm here -- and look forward to adding in my half-miles to the group total. I think some people are like me ... reading the daily thread but not always posting. So take heart! it's nothing to do with the change of leaders in my case.
I've been on-track ... witness my statistics through weigh-in today. This thread is one of "My Support Threads" that I read every day I'm online. (Some days I'm not even online recently.)
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL for your VICTORIES, scale and non-scale!!!
Put me down for 0.5 miles walked today ... which is a lot for me as I build back up.
Chare ... I was advised by Jenny Care to go-off program and did for 4 days in August; I didn't like the idea but I believed that the Jenny reps knew better than I did and that proved true: it was much less stressful for me to eat healthily but off-program. I hope you will find it less stressful as well.
