in the time I've been on JC - but instead of growing a new person, I've lost 46 lbs. of my old person! Talk about a re-birth!
I am grateful every day that I turned my life around that one cold, awful, rainy September night, into the Jenny Craig lifestyle. I wonder where I'd be if I hadn't done that.
Amazing that a one-year anniversary is coming up for me - about half a year of actually being 'thinnish' - about a month of being 'gosh- are you going to get any thinner, thinnish' - and still about 8 lbs. away from goal.
How are you all doing? Things going okay?
I sure love these boards - what a source of inspiration and comfort.
Happy day,
Laura

Hi, Laura! Great to hear from you. I'm doing awesome. I've lost 45 pounds to date despite a lot of extensive traveling between May and July (just got back from 4 weeks in Las Vegas!) My scale is indicating that I weigh 179 today. I hope this sticks and I get under 180 this week. That would be fab!
I'm really enjoying wearing normal size clothes again. I still have at least 50 pounds to go to get to my goal weight, but I believe I can get there with this program!

Both you gals are truly inspiring...when I hit 45, I'll be in onederland...can't wait, can't wait.
Thanks for helping me understand this is all entirely possible...you're great role models!

You are all doing so great!! Congratulations!! Onederland to me seems lightyears away and I am feeling a little down today.I have lost 42 pounds, but I still weigh 336 pounds. I have a long way to go just to be below 300 and then 100 more pounds to get to onederland.I know I will do it, but it seems so far away.Another thing that didn't help is that I went to lunch today with 2 of my college friends-1 is a size 6 and the other a size 10~cried all the way home as I felt like a beached whale. I am usually very upbeat and do not like feeling this way.I know the weight didn't go on overnight and won't come off overnight.I am trying to break it down into 10 pound increments, but it still seems like SO MUCH to lose and I am kicking myself in the butt for not doing something sooner. Oh well.....can't go backwards only forward. Thanks for listening to me.Good luck to all!!

Hey Lyndie - I feel your pain - and I applaud your determination! It WILL come off - one pound at a time - and in a year - you will be maybe 50 lbs. lighter - and in two years - maybe 100! And just think - you'll get older anyway - make each day count to get to your healthiest self.
You can do this! Don't lose faith.

Hey Lindie,
My son, age 23, has 200+ lbs to lose and feels the same way you do. He goes to see all his high school friends and leave feeling like complete dog breath. He was a varsity defensive lineman in high school, so always big, but now it has nothing to do with sports. He has lost 50 lbs, another 200 to go.
My other son, age 19, is on JV also. He started last October and has lost 75 lbs. He wants to lose another 100 but I am not sure if that is healthy. I have been on it 2 1/2 weeks and lost 8.8 lbs my first two weeks. I am turning 50 in late December and really want to get all this under control. For health reasons as well as mental health. I have 73 lbs to lose all together. They call us The Incredible Shrinking Family at our center.
Anyway, keep plugging away. Just the knowledge you are doing it may help you feel positive. Life on the other side will be great!

Thanks! You all made me feel so much better. I know I can do it, but sometimes I need the affirmation from others who are walking down the same path. My thin friends try to be supportive, but they just haven't experienced what we are going through.So...as my grandma used to say~"Keep on keepin' on!!!"

thanks Lyndie-
I live in Salt Lake - work in Park City. It's a beautiful place - today it was deliciously hot - then thunderstorms tonight - my FAVORITE!
I came home and just wanted to eat the universe. The UNIVERSE! My son was having pizza - so while he ate, I microwaved up some of my favorite patty-pan squashes with I can't believe it's not butter, salt and pepper - and had 2 tomatoes with fat free italian dressing. I was just starved...but instead of his bread sticks - I was eating free food. It was a success.
Instead of 2,000 calories I almost ate, I ate all free food - and then rising crust pizza...and soon - cheesecake!!
